There is no question on how important this game in the arcades was back in day. The fact people surrounded the arcade just to have a pick of the awesome combos and graphics, and do not forget the adrenaline when you got to hear Ultraaaaaa comboooooo. Those where the days!
I've never seen this version before! It's look amazing! I played the SNES version.. I should say the announcer's voice is like slower than the SNES version.
It was impossible for the N64 version of KI to be identical as the arcade version due to lack of memory. Despite the fact that Rare had to cut down on Framerates, animations, and CGI, the N64 version was pretty damn good. The Super Nintendo version of KI had the same exact issue.
Now that's Glacius. I love the fact that he keeps a closed fist and punch the hell out of ya. The new Glacius got wwaayyyy 2many projectiles. GLACIUS WOULD BEAT YO AAZZZZZ.
True but it was because of the storyline they made up for it. It was said that Combo killed Riptor and Glacius killed Cinder. It's like natural rivalries like man vs. beast and fire vs. ice.
Thank you so much for posting this. It's reminds me of my childhood. I have hated every other rendition of glacious. KI was the only good version. Plus just announced today Xbox one will have the original KI emulated for 40.00 on launch in the Xbox 1 arcade!
How do you do combos in this game? It has always confused me on how to do them, sometimes from button mashing i get like, a triple, but that's it. And I dont think my KI has the FMV portraits before and after the match, is that a problem because im using MAME32 100.or something?
there were rumors of rare wanting to bring the original arcade verison to the xbl arcade and psn. I just think it needs more support from the fans to make it happen. Look what happen with mvc2, and that game needed to deal with licensing problems.
Can somebody explain to me why the rivasl doesn't keep their original colors ? if you are in a battle with the same character is ok but why the others one ?
KI has never been an easy game, imo it has quite the learning curve..and I played all versions of KI ever released extensively. feels good whn u get good tho. rewarding
there was no comparison.. the SFX on SNES were SO lackluster.. when Glacius started stabbing the shit out of you with that ultra, that shit was TOO funny..
@rogerdamnit If you are trying to sai KI is better because its older than you need to actually do research. MK came out 2 years before KI. But KI still kicks ass and a remake or a 3rd of the game on the PS3/360 would be awesome
i wish they would do a remake of this game and put it on another console...with improved graphics..mk ain't got nothin on killer instinct...old school rules...lol
