If you told me this was a scene from a Batman movie and those where Gotham villains I’d believe it. It gave me those vibes

Wick's hand is literally the "Deadman's Hand." Ace of Spades, Ace of Clubs, Eight of Spades and Eight of Clubs two pair is known as the "Deadman's Hand" in poker because it is rumored to be the hand that Wild Bill Hickok had when he was shot in the back of the head and killed. Many superstitious poker players won't play that hand for that reason.

This entire scene had a very comic book feel to it. Very well done.

I once saw him cut a man's throat at a poker game with a playing card... A freaking playing card!

Scott Adkins brought a character to life in a movie series of great characters. His portrayal of Killa was definitely worth waiting 4 movies to see

The card game symbolizes every character's fate in the film. John gets the "Deadman's Hand" and is the second to die of the four players. Caine gets a good hand with 4 Nines and 1 Four, but Four is associated with death in many Asian cultures. The final credit scene shows his fate is uncertain. Tracker gets a Royal Flush, and he and his dog survive the film's events. Killa gets the best hand, "5 of a Kind," but he cheats and has the weakest form of that hand: 5 Twos. He dies first because he broke the rules of his own game. Adding on to this, both John and Tracker change cards in the game and change their views throughout the film, while Caine does not.

I will give Scott Adkins this, he can act on top of his martial prowess. Usually it's one over the other

The fat boss's table has a fan constantly casting moving shadows over the whole thing. That's gotta be distracting when he's just trying to answer some emails or buy some crap online. He should treat himself to a better office.

The most unrealistic part of this scene is that they all had really good hands.

Actually, in 5 card draw, joker is considered as wild card. That means it can turn into any card hence when combine with four of a kind, the hand automatically becomes 5 of a kind and beats royal flush. So he could have used a joker card to make his 5 of a kind legit.

Actors want to be action stars: action stars want to be actors. Scott Adkins is having the time of his life. He's got prosthetics; he's got card tricks; he's got a German accent. This scene goes first on his CV.

I had to suspend my disbelief when they introduced the bullet proof silk suits, but the while blind samurai thing was eye rolling to me. Only good thing about this movie was the Hotline Miami scene, and part of the stair climb

Scott Adkins completely stole the movie for me. His greasy attitude and demeanor and then following it up with being able to actually fight at that size and gave John Wick trouble made it even better. In a movie full of memorable characters he was my favorite.

How could he possibly know that was 4 nines by tapping them. Impossible.

What I love about the scene is a royal flush the same hand I pulled on my brother before the flop hand I forgot it could have been a full house or another hand in poker. But there was one time I had a royal flush in one hand and a full house in another. At the time it was before John wick so now I feel like I had a John wick moment in poker at the time.

Okay. there are a lot of situations in John Wick movies that stretch the bounds of believable to the breaking point, and I accept most of them, but this blind man whose other senses have gotten sharper to compensate to the point of unbelievable thing has gone too far. a blind man knowing what his cards are is just a bridge too far for me to suspend my disbelief any further.
