im pretty sure its just which ever player gained the most fire points within a 7 second window. certain special types of potgs like "sharpshooter" "shutdown" and "lifesaver" also make you more likely to get potg. but im not sure how these are weighed
I'm always impressed by how polished these videos are. I don't know how you get visual representations that look *just* like the game, but it'll always be cool as hell.
Just know that the achievement is bugged or not worded correctly and you have to get at least one kill and assist for it to pop. So his death blossom example is incorrect. Youd need to snipe a kill with zen to get it
@@basicbacon5951 yea i got all the achievements and that was one of the last few i had to get that i had sworn id already gotten xD. Found out why after some googling. If you want a tip, ive gotten it on kings row with a random mei comp on second point. Discord the blizzard targets xD
@@musicstuff6310 that is disappointing if true. unfortunately I can't verify what the true requirement for the achievement is, since testing it is impractical for many reasons. but since discussion about rapid discord being bugged has been ongoing for 7 years, I am inclined to believe that something about the description is wrong.

i'd love to see this too, there was a time when i got POTG with moira on almost every quick play, i think 2 years ago, but now it's almost impossible, the sure have changed something
Looks like the killfeed assists have changed a lot in OW2. It’ll probably take some time for things to settle, but I’d love to see an updated version of this video sometime!
I noticed that the Doomfist punch knockback doesn't register as an assist but what about when the enemy hits the wall from the punch? Isn't that a stun?
This guy always knows how to pick topics we all thought about but never actually dug into. Amazing video as always!! I got the sequences wrong :( i thought the damage from the reinhardt will restart mercy's timer but only mercy boosted damage restarts the timer.
I made the same assumption, because I thought the second dmg boosted rocket came within the 5" threshold from the first. If I got this lesson correctly.
i'm suprised that amped speed boost doesn't count towards assists, as it is used as an offensive push manoeuvre under most circumstances. having Lucio gain assists for this would definitely make him seem more impactful and make OWL a little cleaner to watch
IIRC, if a speed boosted teammate kills an enemy, it does count as an assist in your stats as Lucio, it just doesn't show up in the killfeed as an assist. Same with Widow and Hanzo wallhacks.
@@Voxovan yea lucio has defensive assists and offensive assists. I always assumed that it had something to do with amp heals for defensive and amp speed for offensive

Your content is very similar shounic. He basically does what you do-explaining game mechanics and bugs in a informative way- but in Team Fortress 2. Both of you are supreme content creators for my favorite class based shooters. :)
I will have to double check this and issue a correction if it's true. I know that regular charges/pins/punches do not result in killfeed assists, but I did not consider countercharges.
after doing some testing, I've found that Doomfist does not get a killfeed assist when countercharging Rein, Brig, or another Doomfist. but he _does_ get an assist when counter-charging Bob during his deployment. thanks for the comment, I will update the description EDIT: ok ignore this comment. after testing this a lot further, counter-charge assists have a very unique quirk. I will be making a video addressing this shortly.
I wonder if the “logic” behind those characters not getting assists is that they “shouldn’t” be getting them. Meaning, the purpose of Lucio is to support, so it counts as an assist to encourage that behavior, as well as validate them in the statistics. Meanwhile Phara’s is supposed to vet elims herself, so she doesn’t need to be rewarded for assists. If that’s true, they should update Doomfist in OW2 to now show assists, because his focus as a character has shifted to tanking rather than killing
@@emergency.jergens I think the assists were added to the game after she became a DPS, but I could be wrong. Edit: just checked and I'm completely wrong. She became a DPS on June 26, 2018 and the kill feed assists were added on May 23, 2017
@@sircobalt5099 with that you have to remember that Overwatch is made by lots of people after a long period of time. It’s very likely that whoever programmed Lucio’s boop was different than the person who programmed Brig’s, or that the team as a whole changed their philosophy on what counts as an assist over time
No unnecessary intros, outros, transitions, animations. Just pure, nicely polished informative content; you're literally the only OW YT content creator doing it, and as a result - you are the best one. Screw all the others with their horny teen snotty brats welcoming style of videos, attracting nuisance, Twitch slaves, etc., this is what matters the most, finally some decency. The others are pathetic.
I guess I hit the nail on its head with the two guys reacting. Apparently he doesn't need fancy pancy BS to attract attention and that's what separates him from others. You know - quality over circus. Would love to see an OW2 revisit of assists. Especially since it seems a standard weekly challenge for me is gettting 250 assists/saves. I'm fairly certain healing someone that gets a kill counts as an assist now.
I’ve seen in my own game where a Wrecking Ball earned 3 kill assists when we died to flux mines combo. I’m not sure how exactly it worked but everyone in The lobby was super confused as well
In fact, Doomfist can be in the killfeed as an "assistant". If Doomfist uses "Rocket punch" against Brigitte's "Shield bash" or Reinhardt's "Charge", both of them will "fall" to the ground in the same way as the result of charging Reinhardts from opposing teams. And if after that Doomfist's teammate kills the fallen Brigitte or Reinhardt, then Doomfist as an assistant will get into the killfeed along with the teammate who killed the enemy. Great video as usual! One thing I'm surprised you didn't mention despite it being probably being reverted in the live Overwatch 2 version is Moira's Weakening ability from the latest OW2 Beta (I guess I wondered about it since Orisa losing her Ashe/Dva assist bug in OW2 was mentioned in the video). I'm guessing this would work the same way as Ana's nade assist does, but interested nonetheless
man, it's mind blowing how much in depth this is. Also, i am glad OW grants kills to both damaging players, rather than just the one that landed the killing blow that said, the "quiz" was actually kind of cool to try to solve!

I don't know what is more impressive. Videos themselves? Or the fact that you perfectly executed relaunching the channel by stacking content since the OW2 announcement and publishing it in the greatest of syncs with the actual GoLive of the game and the community's peak interest. Me getting the quiz at the end correct was the most exciting thing to happen to me all week these videos are so informative, i wish i could absorb information like this in school
so something interesting i found out in the beta. As junkerqueen if you throw the hatchet and die before it flies back and before it gets out of los (because then it will also fly back almost instantly) then it will fly from wherever you threw it and all the way back to spawn. I only tested this in the practice range with instant respawn so i'm not sure it would work in a real game. HOWEVER something else interesting to research could be the inconsistency with which the game treats projectiles and dying. In my experience some projectiles just disappear while others keep going so yeah. Anyways amazing content, keep it up!
I’d like to see an in-date ow2 version of this. Or is it still the same in ow2, and the ‘outdated’ only refers to some abilities that were changed/removed?

Wow. A few months ago i found this channel and i really enjoyed the few overwatch videos that you had created. Since then, the video quality has only gone up, and everything feels incredibly polished and smooth. What you've done is amazing, its just a shame that the overwatch community is so small these days. If OW2 gets popular though, get ready for a huge boom in viewership. Keep up the high quality videos! I can tell you put in a lot of effort, so i can't wait for more :).
Thanks for this video, I was really stumped why sometimes I wouldn't (visually in the killfeed) get credit for an assist, even when I did a bunch of damage to an enemy but just didn't get the killing blow, while other times I would briefly buff the person who got the kill and get credit for it.
3:47 If I ever want to get rapid discord achievement. 9:17 Great idea for video, ridiculous pop quizzes haha, or just quizzes in general its nice to see either you learned something or at least could have learned something, watching videos is always too passive and often you don't pay enough attention to learn. Honestly I want to emulate this exact style of content.
Melee hits apply a tiny amount of knockback, so it would make sense to see them as an assist but sadly that's not the case 😔They do however allow pretty much every hero to get an environmental kill just by punching an enemy as they're falling to death. I hear it's why some Tracers make an effort to blink into the void and punch people only to recall, to steal some of that sweet ult charge 😌
Something I would’ve liked to see, which no one seemed to mention, was a full kill feed list of all buffs/debuffs that could be applied in game. Just for the sake of absurdity
That video explains so good how assists work and even though I play this game from its release I learned a ton of things! Just need to precise that u forgot to talk about how doomfist and rein can get an assist by counter charging rein's pin, brig's shield bash or doom's punch 👌🇨🇵
