The reason Gon and Killua have great chemistry (apart from being young and befriending anyone their age) is because Gon's morals aren't in black and white like that of most protagonists. His goal is to find his dad, not to be strong to save people. Killua didn't think he could ever make real friends because he was an assassin and not everyone would take that lightly. It's great how they push each other to be stronger, but in a friendly competition sort of way. It's refreshing and we can focus on the plot instead of the turmoil inside the characters' mind.

I love how Killua is not one of those cliche protagonists that get jealous when his best friend's gaining an immense power

i can’t deal w their friendship, it’s the cutest honestly. i love how they balance each other. the first person to killua that showed him what true friendship n happiness looks like while to gon, it taught him that he has someone to lean on whenever he can’t manage something on his own n/or when it’s too much for him. they know each other so well. my favorite friendship ever in anime, i love them!

Watching this with the context of Killua's life up to the point that he met Gon... it makes those early moments even more adorable. Just think about how Gon is Killua's first real friend. Not just one his age, but the first PERSON he ever knew who just saw him as a kid and wasn't afraid to play with him, even after seeing his strength and willingness to kill firsthand. DIRECTLY after seeing him rip out a heart, Gon is playfully having a pillow fight with him. Gon just sees Killua and accepts all of him without question or judgement. Yes, Killua is an amazing friend and does a LOT for Gon throughout the series, but I think people forget that Gon basically gave Killua his first taste of pure friendship. Killua is the one who decided then and there to use his immense strength to help and protect Gon, instead of just for himself and his family like he'd been taught. He is trying to repay Gon for everything he did for Killua, even without knowing what an impact he had. I hate when I hear people say that their friendship was onesided and that Gon didn't care. Their relationship is absolutely amazing and I watched this video with the biggest grin possible at how happy they are together. They do so much for eachother and I'm gonna tear up.

fr though they perfectly compliment each other, Killua couldn't have found any other friend like Gon ever - the moment he saw him he knew that this kid would pass through their family's 7 gates of hell and sht just to see him again. I also applaud Killua for telling his brother in such a vulnerable state that the reason he wanted to become an hunter is because he wants to continue his friendship with Gon. Instead of feeling shy or embarassed he told them openly. Loved that scene. They deserve each other so much

don't care what anyone says, their friendship was pure. People can say that they were toxic and their friendship was never healthy, but I couldn't disagree more. They were just two kids who went through a lot of stuff.. Gon found someone that would always be there for him, even when he made stupid decision. Killua found someone that would love him for who he was, despite the shield he put up. They did everything together, and they were always there for each other. It didn't matter the cost or the consequences, they never gave up on one another. And it breaks my heart that it was best for each other to separate, because in the end they needed to go on their own and find news paths.. Killua finally found his purpose, and Gon finally found his father.. I hope one day their paths realign

I LOVE their friendship so much, it became a brotherhood so quickly, Killua finally had someone who treated him like a human, a friend. And Gon had someone to talk to. A friend he was close to. Something he didn’t have at home. They were meant to be friends. Because they needed each other. And in that this unbreakable bond formed and now they will literally protect each other. A found family. It’s wonderful, and their dynamic is absolutely FIRE, it makes me so happy, but so sad at how much trauma 2 12 year old boys hold, especially Killua.

I love how people find it a bit strange that these two instantly became friends as soon as Gon reveals his age to Killua. To be fair though, kids their age tend to have an easier time making friends than teens and adults do. These two are seriously one of my favorite adventuring buddy duos next to Finn & Jake.

I'm only on season 3 so far so I still have some way to go but I gotta say Gon and Killua's friendship is the cutest shit ever!! Idk which character is my favorite they're both a joy to watch. I just know eventually this series is gonna make me cry, and it may involve the two of them haha.
