Kim Fowley Interviewed by Audrey Moorehead on TALK TALK cable access show. w/ Greg Shaw of Bomp Records & Lee Joseph of Dionysus Records. This was on a clip tape giving to me by Kelly Kuvo in the mid-90’s.
I met Kim in the 90s. He hadn’t changed a bit. My fave story was when him & his buddy drove up to Spahn Ranch & told the Manson crowd he was their new leader.
My friend Kim, RIP. I'm sick of people who never knew him stating that he's a creep or a monster based on a rape allegation that was never tested in court. My personal experience as a guy who got to know him is that he was a genuine and kind human being. He let me stay at his apartment and one time when I was taken ill he rushed me to hospital and convinced a music publisher to cover my bills if I was kept in overnight. Many people who knew him like myself wrote to the LA Times when they sneered at him when he died, forcing the paper to write a more considered obituary.
He may be a male, but he(according to his story anyway) has actually interacted with Kim, and can make a much better assessment of his personality, based on those experiences, than you can. The suggestion that being a male prevents one from being able to identify "creepy" behavior is as absurd as it is insulting to every male victim/survivor of abuse. You don't, as a woman, have a monopoly on pain and suffering, and if you engaged in even a modicum of research and due diligence, you would find that a sizable number of men and boys have experienced horrific abuse both in and outside of the entrainment industry. This was easily one of the most asinine responses I've encountered on RU-vid. Congratulations...no easy feat! As to the accusations themselves, they could very well be true. Predators exist and often target young and vulnerable women/girls: this isn't lost on me. But there is this right in our country to a thing called due process, and whereas the deceased was never charged with the alleged crime, let alone convicted by a jury of his peers, I cannot(nor can you) posthumously and arbitrarily assign guilt to him.
@@HarryPairatestes363 I’m aware men are abused. My argument is that Kim allegedly abused women. Not men. So he wouldn’t show his predatory behavior to him because he was a male. That was my point, and you clearly missed it.
Kim Fowley produced our CD. He talked to me just like this - talked up all his rather extensive career - dropped a hundred names, very impressive really. I thought he respected the songs I wrote with The Take. Next day he's telling the band to ditch my tunes and write all new ones. They kept three and he changed the band's sound so much they were unrecognizable in the end product. He was an asshole, a jerk, a liar and a back stabber- that is my experience with him
I really miss Greg too. I think about him often. I used to provide psychedelic lighting for Greg and Victoria's Big Bang parties back in the early 90's. Those were some great times. Greg was the coolest cat in LA.
@@terrencemcginnis7221yeah, I knew Victoria. did Brian Jonestown play at that? I remember they were all living in his apartment for a stressful minute there... I almost killed Greg the first time we drove to SF together. It was my car but he wanted to drive into the city. Noontime toll traffic was heavy & we were in the third lane. Suddenly, he started acting VERY strange. I knew he was diabetic, but I'd never seen how low blood sugar affects them. Long story short, I had to steer us thru traffic& off the last Oakland exit, then rummage thru ALL the shit we'd packed for some reason to hunt down this tube of glucose, then force him to eat it. It was pretty scary for me. I didn't know if he was going into a coma, which I'd heard about. I was really pissed at him once he was better. After all, he'd been diabetic HIS WHOLE LIFE& was then well into his 40s at LEAST. He knew what he needed to do to manage it & could've told me what to expect before we left so I'd be prepared. But that was Greg Shaw for u. Then, there's the time he gave me quaaludes at his place &I came to on his bed with his head in my crotch. Where's the fun in going down on someone who is passed out? Was that Date rape? I guess they'd call it that now. I just pushed him off me & went into my friend Scott's room to sleep it off. Crazy times. Never saw Victoria there, come to think of it. But then, their kid Tristan was still a tot. Sigh! The 90s... Hard to believe they're so far behind us.
Ya 😡 I am thankful for him making The Runaways famous. But other then that he’s disgusting too. What he did to one of those Runaway Girls makes me sick. It makes me wonder if there was more to the story that there letting on.

You better do your research about the business most likely yeah lol he looks yeah and I am the person I don’t judge people Go ahead and call people dumb ass and all that so because you might not want to believe you did it that’s on you that’s your back then mostly it happened it mostly happens back then that’s what happens in the business back in the 70s and even in the acting world or whatever do your research I know you don’t want nobody says she just said they would be like a literally literally literally yeah what the fuck ever I have copies of shit in my family to what the hell ever so thick what the hell you want I said they are call people names or whatever because they’re not agreeing with you grow up
