To be honest I knew he had tough past but never expected that he was abused and beaten i mean i knew he went through lot of hardships to come this far but getting beaten by others is not his style at all I'm truly shocked to know this whenever I see he gives me a vibe big brother whom everyone can count on and trust in and depend up on him that's why i respect him so much but after hearing about his past and knowing that he was someone who needed to be protected from those cruel people makes me like him more thank God he grew up to become stronger now everyone is scared of our big brother ☺️
I cried so hard moment when she said Jong Kook met "second Kwangsoo". I can't even imagine how terrified Jong Kook was at that time when he heard the name since I had an experience where I got traumatized by the NAME. All the happy moments Kwangsoo gave to Jong Kook somehow helped him to have hope, and instead, he is happy now with all the good people around him.
Imagine having barely enough to survive on a daily basis, and being ganged up and physically abused whenever you even try to fight for your fair share of earnings. Overworked, exploited, abused, threatened daily, hindered from progressing via other avenues, suffering for multiple years without any substantial hope. Even when his 2 partners had to be hospitalised for depression and trauma, Jong Kook pushed on with nothing but his own will. Even now with all the huge success (he still deserves more in my opinion), he is a respectful celebrity who always looks out for his juniors and never gets into scandals. He is too good for this world.

This is one of the reasons why i believe he doesn't like doing TURBO songs on RM as much, he's hesitant at first because I think it all just brings back dark memories that he doesn't want to relive. We as viewers enjoy it but I can't imagine the trauma he must have faced because of that time. Being forced to perform and then getting beat up afterwards regardless, living with barely any money from the performances (because the money would be taken by the thugs).
I think this is the reason why kjk is such a nice guy to his friends and has a positive actitud. He literally know what it feels like to be at the very bottom.

I felt really sad when I watched his confession in Strong Heart but I didn't know that there's more to it. Learning that he suffered mentally, emotionally and physically in the past breaks my heart. I am thankful he was able to overcome the adversaries in his life, and he's been doing really well and has been receiving the love and recognition he deserves. He's a very talented man with a good heart which is why I admire him so much. I am also thankful that he met good people in the entertainment industry who treats him like family.

I am soooo glad you made a video about this... Lotta people don't know the sufferings Kim Jungkook went through to stand where he is and he has my biggest respect and support.. One of the main reasons why he grew his body was because he was beaten soooo regularly and he didn't wanna feel pain anymore and so he grew it so he won't feel pain anymore... And he also used to take the beatings for his turbo members and managers and that's why his friends or managers would give up their lives anytime for him.. That's why they are sooo clos like real brothers... His ex agency was run by Gangstars and they also threatened to kill his family and once even his girlfriends family. He wasn't paid for so many years and when they called him for their collaboration album his agreed because of the brotherhood but even tho he wasn't in their agency they still beat him up and threatened him again. And they also called press to talk ill about him and spread hate.. This video just covers like around 40% of what he really went through. He has gone through such indescribable pain and sufferings.. Mad respect for him to where he is today🔥

I know when he wanted to release an album, songwriters didn’t want to help him which he said during Strong Heart. But dam, this guy really went through hell and he was so young. I just watched this video today and I respects him more, thank you for this information. I find it kinda funny to found comments like : this video is fake or this video is to clean his image lmao. That is the example of consequences, the worst effects of the "evil" roles he got from Running Man (because I think he became well known internationally after his TURBO and downside era). Nowadays, because he knows he is labeled as a bad person because of this role, he can't help but behave the way the audience wants him to. It's sad but what can he do? If he suddenly become a good, smily, soft spoken person, they'll call him fake. i never new who any of the people in running man were. my mrs decided she wanted to learn korean and we ended up binge watching runnin gman. up until the ep on running man where he was talkng about his role on the show, i really didn't cared for him as much as the others as i thought he was an arse. after that talk with grasshopper, i changed my view of him 180 degrees. with everything i now now about the guy. i can only admire him.
