Thank you for the great series, I just found them this morning with the carrying on the purse. I am brand new to shooting again, when I was in my late teens and 20's I was taught to shoot a 357 Magnum. I became very fearful of guns very fast, because of my 1st husband. It has been 30 years and my husband of the last 15 years, has many guns, I never was scared as he never took them out, he is very respectful of firearms. We have decided for my own safty it's time for me to carry, plus we can go to the range together, shoot up north etc. We have bought me a 9mm, and I can say from watching your series so far, I am learning a lot from you both. I will go for my CCW after I learned much more and have shooting time in. I have watched other videos and didn't feel it, so I have subscribed to your videos and I have learned by watching this video over and over how to manage the gun the correct way. I am one who likes to watch and learn, then try and that's in all I do. I want to thank you both for making these videos and help people learn the basics of doing things the right way. Keep it up and I will be watching all if your video's. Thanks again!!!

I'm only four minutes in to this and I've already gotten better instruction for the fundamentals than I did at a pistol basics class. That's likely because they teach you more about safety and how to properly handle a firearm rather than actually how to shoot. I'm looking forward to watching all of this. I especially appreciate the slow, clear way you're explaining everything. As a first-time female shooter like Kim, I need work on trigger control, because all my rounds are going low and to the left. I anticipate the sound of the gun going off. I'm heading to the range again on Monday...I'm going to put your training into action. Thank you for this series!

Would like to come do a class with you. I have enjoyed your videos and the way you teach. Your teaching style is a lot like the way I instruct folks, and it's a breath of fresh air to see another professional not trying to teach a self-defense shooting class in one weekend to a bunch of new gun owners looking for their CCW. I wish new owners understood that one weekend class is not going to teach them to John Wayne in a bad situation! But so many people market these one weekend, get your CCW, and be a defensive shooter!! Heck, they could put the Military out of business with those results!!

I know its late to be commenting on it now, but I've already learned a few things after this being my second video watching from you guys. I don't know if you've done it yet, but I'd like to see technique while shooting a larger pistol like a CZ 97, or something like that, that has a huge grip on it. I feel like I barely have my hands around it....yeah, I know, thats what she said. LOL. Seriously though, I love video's like this bc I always pick up on something I'm doing wrong, even if its just reminding me to correct something I'm doing wrong. Keep up the good videos....2nd watched and already subscribed and liked, not just bc of Kim either. Love learning to correct technique to make myself a more accurate shooter. Its a great feeling when you go to the range and see the improvement with tighter groups of shots, especially as you move the target farther away. If I were to get good enough, I might think about competing, but I have a long way to go for that to happen.

To GFA, first is love your videos just as this one are very thorough, more than one thing stood out but will say after watching a bodycam from a officer in a gun battle that did good made a mistake on reloading and did not do like you did but held down and tried to put clip in the wrong way but quickly got it right.. Yes he was under much stress as being under fire Witch brings up on training, practice reloading, and from what I have seen from you would also include how to properly train also how you carry your extra clips and know witch way it goes in gun so you will never go through what that one did. I do want to thank you as you not only helped me but made me take a look at the way I do things now and how I can better them. By the way like many others love your way of checking position, LOL. Have not seen all of yours yet but will say you should make a video not only how one should do but what can happen when done wrong. Yes most videos do somewhat tell some but not all. .

Great introduction video. I appreciate that you not only tell us what your doing buy why you are doing it; like keeping your finger off the front of the trigger guard. I also feel I have found my calling. I want to be a firearms instructor. :-) I have a question for you now. Especially with revolvers, I was under the impression that you were to never dry-fire a gun. This was something I learned 30ish years ago. These days I see many people dry-fire pistols and instructing you to practice by dry-firing while doing drills at home. Why is it okay to dry-fire a pistol? Is it a difference between hammer and striker fired?

Thanks for watching , the video about why you should not carry odd body is very good for new shooters considering carry in a purse or bag. Kim has a Springfield MOD2 9mm subcompact and an XDS 9mm. I believe the she uses XDS in that video. Typically the slide become easier to rack after 500 rounds or so. There are techniques to help rack a slide as well. Videos on that coming soon.

@martyapo

It's probably better to teach new shooters (mainly women) to grip the pistol with a dominant hand, thumb down posture. This allows them to have a stronger grip of the gun (make a tight fist then raise your thumb, did you feel it get weaker?). If you teach them thumbs up and they can only get a strong hand grip then they are at a serious disadvantage from the draw. Just food for thought.

Mojo I had shot before, but going to the range once/twice a month does not make you very skilled. You might know firearms, but you've got a lot to learn about the ladies. I did that once to my girlfriend while out in public. She let me know in no uncertain terms, "No sex for you tonight". Dude, you just don't do that. :)

You two are perfect together. Watching your vids makes me want to drag my wife to the range....you are a lucky man (I refuse to make any sudo sexual comments like I have seen by others on this channel--even though I want to).

Why would you teach a new shooter on such a small format firearm?

It's not that small, and it's probably what she's going to be carrying so why not?

Perhaps you should buy her a purple or pink pistol but tell her that she can't have it until she is properly trained?

Grabbing your SOs breasts during this demo was immature and un-professional. I was uncomfortable watching a woman being treated this way. She may not have said something, but I'm pretty sure it made her uncomfortable as well. You owe her and your viewers an apology.

What the hell are you doing, Coach? at 2:40 she has her thumb on the 'Slide"!!! Are you kidding me??? Are you going to let her take her thumb off gripping the gun like that? And too: why don't you have her learning withy a low caliber gun? You're terrible!!! 👎
