I had a white friend who used to taunt her Baby daddy new girlfriend. One time the girlfriend jumped on her and beat her ass. I was there and I didn’t move because it wasn’t my fight. She was so mad at me and we didn’t talk for a few days. When we did have lunch to talk about it I got her together. You can’t provoke folks and then cry about it. She told me well I’m taking her to court and I’m a white woman so it’ll play in my favor. It did play in her favor and I haven’t talked to her since. This video was a 1000% true.
Well as a black woman I do not feel as though WE perpetuate the “roll your neck” black woman stereotype. We are one of the only groups that has to JUSTIFY our anger and frustrations not only to white people to black men. Far too many times, people have treated me differently and I overcompensate by being “nice” and “understanding”. But as soon as I feel disrespected I am expected to give that same energy. So white people are SURPRISED because I am not that nice black girl anymore that made them feel comfortable. I am angry and neck rolling. Simply because I had to step out of that role of being “the nice black girl” to finally validate my feelings. The very feelings that have been ignored for HUNDREDS of years. So no, I think Kim started a a fire and then got surprised when 5 black women put it out. I do think culturally black women have this untouchable flavor on how we address issues. We are witty, we are quick, and unapologetic when our backs are against the wall. But don’t push us, because we have been pushed for waaaayyyyy too long. I clapped through this ENTIRE VIDEO!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 loved the analysis!!!
AlwaysAmeera Yes Sis !!!!! You articulated that perfectly. We have to stop policing ourselves to fit what We think white America needs us to be so that we can be accepted socially, if we keep it all the way real....We will never be until we as a collective stop living our lives "searching" for approval and validation from them.
rebecca you obviously don’t know the definition of racism , because calling someone wig is “mean” at best NOT racist , that’s definitely a reach sweetheart !!
Yes he did! I seen that shit years ago how Kim got with them because I went through the same thing with my 2 white best friends because I was always the poor little native girl. It's disgusting your "friends" can't be supportive all because their white asses feel above you 😒
Sophia Renee Cynthia wasnt letting up, she real church Auntie shady, like "whatever girl bye, you was wrong". I wish she was a lil bit more like the auntie who drive the Nissan Altima with the short cut and 2 sons. But I was proud of Cynthia!!
I was born in 85 and I’m trying to remember the Kumbayah moments you speak of. Rodney King and police brutality, mass incarceration, the woman in Union, SC who blamed a black man for carjacking/kidnapping her two sons only to later admit she drowned them, etc.
Carolina Maven YAASSS!! The Rodney King incident was the first thing that popped in my mind and it was caught ON TAPE! I knew then what time it was and I was born in 83 as well. I remember that white woman too smh.
Kim was throwing a tantrum because she didn't expect all the tea about her come out for Troy to hear. She felt humiliated about the tea spilling about her *maybedeepestsecret* sh$t!!!
Vi lia did you notice that too? Kim must've told Kroy the same lie that she tried to tell Sheree about Kandi but when Kandi called her on it she wanted to shut that down but Kandi wouldn't let her. Then she said I'm talking about the last trip we took to the Bahamas and Kandi said when you was laying up with DJ Tracey while your kids was in the livingroom? She tried her best to shut that down and got totally humiliated!!!
When Sheree kept yelling to NeNe at the reunion " you wasn't that GIRL you wasn't that girl" spoke jealousy volumes to me.. Because guess what? Nene is "That Girl" Now! Sheree and Kim are equally jealous of how this show made Nene the star and she went on to do great things!! They can't take it!!
Taylor Jones and be throwing shade at your mama:chiiiild I know your mama ain't mad, because she caught you kissing a boy. when she use to go hide and hunch in them bushes across street😲
Damn! The white woman tears topic was just on subject on an episode of rupauls untucked. A white drag queen was being nasty to a black drag queen and when the black queen got him together he started crying and the vixen pointed out that to the cameras she's going to appear as the big angry black woman attacking the meek crying white one. Very deep
y'all really surprised that a person that claims "I don't see color" is a racist? Thats like the I'm a closet racist starter pack. What happened with Sweetie was all I needed to know
It seems like when Kim married ,that's when sweetie left. Then she got a white gay lady to be the nanny. I always thought It was bc of KROY. And while ppl are a trip when it comes to there parents. She got mad at her mom bc she didn't use porta potty she rented for her wedding / reception. Her mother use restroom in house.Kim blew up made her leave. She tells her children her Mother is mean. They are taught to hate their garandma
I was just about to say she always claimed she didn’t see color. To be honest I think kroy gave her the back bone to finally say things like that. Before she had no back up so she had to act like she didn’t see color.
With all due respect, I think the real issue is that Kim kept insisting that she was "not a racist," but when she resorted to the tears and fragility to support her victim narrative, she threw around "African-American" as if that term inherently implied she was in danger. "I was out there with FIVE African-American women." You'd think she was in a den of ravenous lions. Then, she and Kroy tried to shame Andy as a white man for "letting it happen." All those women did was passionately call Kim to the rug to answer and be accountable for her microaggressions against them without cause. She had no NEED for protection. And she even berated Sheree, because she thought Sheree was her token black pet who was supposed to be the Black female buffer between Kim and the other girls like a damn attack dog. Sheree's goofy ass kee-kee'd with Kim all season, and she DESERVED to be fired. The sad part is Andy even highlighted that there was nothing positive that she brought to this season. And he damn sure wasnt going to let her hop into a waiting SUV after asking her softball questions about her manservant Kroy and their village of kids. That boring shit is on Tardy for the Party, and viewers don't even watch it THERE, so he wasn't going to risk his highest-rated show for that bullshit.
Please check out vintage Funky Dineva videos-2 of my favs are My hair is layed like Donation, and the Scandal Judge Cancer! Warning! DO NOT WATCH AT WORK! You will be on the floor with some of the older videos.
Remember how Sheree did NeNe on the very first episode. Invited Kim to her house party and when Kim showed up with NeNe, Sheree wouldn't let her in. Seems as though she has always had an issue with NeNe. BYE FELICIA!! She will NOT be missed on the show
Dineva, Kim's relationship with black women and her earlier friendship with Nene derives from circumstance, not authentic relationships. Due to her previous professional life as a mistress/kept women, white women will not tolerate her behavior and look down on her. They would never align themselves with someone with such unapologetic, low moral character. We as a people (black women) are a little less judgmental and forgiving, as long as she is cool and doesn't mess with my man/husband she is ok. If she did have the option of being in the company of elite white women she would, but she does not have the option. Do you agree?
Dineva, thank you for going in deeper on the white woman issue. I'm white and I know there are things about the black experience that I may understand from an intellectual point of view but will never know because I have not lived it. Like childbirth, unless you've gone through it there is no way you can know. Thank you for taking the time to express opinions that in my mind bring understanding. It is appreciated more than you know.
suzycreamchez123 and I can relate to you as a black woman. Had to say hi because you said what I have wanted to say to my white friends. Lol thanks Suzy
suzycreamchez123 At least you can admit it and try. Unfortunately you are only the second white woman in my life of meeting thousands that had the courage to say what you said! We got a loooooog way to go!
As far as the dynamo between Sheree and Nene: It’s been 10 years and between the two, only Nene leveled up. Sheree hadn’t used this platform to do anything but sell T-shirt’s . She has no one to blame or be mad at but herself.
And, that's why Sheree gets called out by Nene for never thanking her for getting her on the show. Kim thanked Nene & they were good. Sheree didn't feel she needed to thank Nene for squat.
She by She got them in the clubs and games for free but nobody remembers.Sheree built a castle to prove she is got it but she still got used by Bravo and Kim thinks she the good kind of black ex football player. She got Kim into the Games too .
A Deeper Conversation meet and greet....mix of pop culture topics and the underlining issues (social and political) relevance to our community...set that up please
Funky Dineva you would be the right one to do it. I'm low key tired of these Grapevine videos tbh. I find you to be well informed and articulate without trying to sound intellectual. And you seem to have enough life experience under your belt to present things clearly and concisely. Yes I think you should get on this. Maybe this summer when the shows be on hiatus.
Eric Brunson IS ON 2 SOMETHING!U'RE TALKING BOUT REAL(LEMME repeat)REAL STUFF!U R MORE SERIOUS NOT ALL GAGS(NO hate n e 1 else)WE OLD APPRECIATE A LIVE SHOW LIKE U(BY URSELF).IM 49&U RON POINTYOUNF&OLD!(I personally think u've been sittn under the ole tree urself!much 💟frm CALI
Yes, we've got some years under our belt in this relationship and we've evolved together. Let's have some wine and conversation. Nessa has a few degrees, some extra coin and children now, she can swing a night out.
Dineva stop saying it’s getting too lengthy, I hate when it ends... we want more, more, more... but I ADMIRE ur intelligence and ability to express your point of view so eloquently in a hood kinda way!!! Lol
To answer your question in the title.. YES Kim is racist! I said the same thing about Sheree and Nene’s dynamic.. Sheree was shitting on Nene on season 1 and she is jealous of Nenes success
Sharee and Kim both looked realllllll silly on stage. I've never seen Sharee at a loss for words like she was on this reunion. You ain't never lied about how a lot of White women like to bark then turn to a victim when they get the bark back. That's facts!!!
Ok so why is this franchise the only one that needs a different ethnicity in it... all the other ones have only white women... so why does this one “need” a white women? Just a thought
Kim even tried to go in on Kandi’s house 🏡 one season... talking about it was in the projects. She knew exactly what she was insinuating by saying Nene had roaches... I’m officially done with WIG & I usually try to give ppl the benefit of the doubt. 🤷🏽♀️
I was hoping Neva you brought up when Kim attacked Kandi seasons ago .When Kandi moved to her house and Kim came to visit talk'em bout she was told to lock her door in her neighborhood. When Kim got to Kandi house she was saying her gate was broke. She tried to malign Kandi just like Nene and the roaches.
I was fucked up when Kim said “5 African American women attacking me”. I had to grab my chest on that. Like she must not watch O.C., Beverly Hills, especially New Jersey
I have been following your career since 2009-2010 and I’ve always loved your reviews and commentary on not just reality television and pop culture but life itself. Yet this video Hands down is one of the most eloquent and intelligent reviews not only about housewives but any subject that I’ve seen on RU-vid in forever. You managed to (unbiasedly) articulate every point so fluently that not only did those of us who had not seen the show feel like we had but help us dissect and understand the show in ways we otherwise may have not. Thank you. For this review and simply being you!
That’s why I’ve always said they’re not friends, they are coworkers and associates because that’s not how you treat friends. Maybe in their world of trying to be better than the next and outdo each other, they’ve gotten confused as to what a real friendship is. I didn’t even watch this season because I realized I don’t like most of them. I saw a few snippets and was disgusted all over again.
I watched the first episode of this season and was like nope. I don’t do petty drama. I liked when it was about them buying homes and spending money. Manufactured drama is not the business.
Girl you better watch this season. They will have you rolling! My niece wanted to record an episode and she recorded the season. We're in the south with those damn storms and the satellite went out so housewives was all I had to watch and I watched every bit of it. The reads and shade alone will keep you entertained. If you like comedy, you'll like this, and I haven't watched since Kandy came on.
I have a Caucasian friend who is very blunt and makes statements which are at times very demeaning and harsh. When I point out my non-appreciation of her verbiage she responds by saying she feels I always attack her. I’m very calm when I point out her brash demeanor but she feels intimidated. White People, don’t talk crap to blacks if you are not prepared to get it back. Some blacks will give you what you gave and then some! People who have not been the target of racism can not know the scope of it.
Kim needs to stop plumping up those artificial looking fish lips and instead see someone about those chins. Did anyone notice Sheree’s lips looked plumped too??
This isn't your friend. If she feels she can say what she wants to you or about black people, yet cannot receive the same energy in kind. She isn't your friend. Please be aware she will never have your back if it will cause her any stress, grief of discomfort. Be wise sis.
Mary Washington....I know someone like that too. She was a coworker. It seemed I had to read her at least once a month. I don't work there anymore but baaaby on my last day I let it rip. Like the last day of school only my words did the fighting. No cursing at all. Told her about her sorry self, dropped the mike and politely left....
You’re absolutely right about how Sheree feels about Nene. Remember when Sheree said in the reunion episode to Nene, “When I was that girl”. Sheree is mad she’s not “That Girl” anymore.
Yes to the fact that Ne Ne and MANY sisters love to boast about getting people together. The issue is that Kim claims to be friends with all the rappers and their wives. All the baddie black women on reality TV and other celebrities. She’s not ACTUALLY scared or intimidated by strong black women. She’s intimately familiar. She was using code words to elicit a specific emotion from Andy, the staff, Kroy, and everyone watching. That’s what makes what she did even more hateful. She loves to be hella down with all the cool black folks, but when she gets called on the carpet for being gratuitously foul she acts like she’s a timid mouse. Foh Kim! Great great discussion friend.
I felt a little heartbreak for Sheree same as I did for Kandi. Both were used by Kim. She benefited from their friendship while Kandi (wrote the girl her WHOLE platform and got zero credit or royalties) and Sheree (fired and looking stupid) got bent over a barrel. But, she's the victim? In the bathroom scene when she started crying, "You didn't stick up for me." They must take a class on that ish.
And all 7 years I've been watching u and your always on point...you always dissect your true feeling while commentating...it's to the point where I watch no other commentary...u have s gift I know RU-vid is not your last stop.....networks take note 👌🏾👌🏾 People Mr. Latham is giving y'all the real
Racism has always been prevalent. You were just young and innocent, and may not have been aware. When we’re young, we see and hear things, but don’t always know what it is that we’re seeing and hearing. :)
I remember first season when sheree was coming off her marriage and being in all those rich circles. And nene was trying to get in and she even said she wanted to be the talk of the parties. She worked hard and she basically made it lol. Mean while sheree husband cut all her money off forcing her to move out that big house. She basically never bounced back. She wasn’t out there working hard like nene. Now this white woman in New York rub me the wrong way as well. And I agree. They have all that mouth and high privilege but as soon as some one of color snap back we always look crazy smh. I see it all the time
I absolutely love your logical mind. You view issues from each perspective and offer insightful responses toward your the world on a realistic scale. You are amazing FunkyDineva😍
You were on point this whole video. I know I definitely do feel that Black women are stronger and at the same time, White women feel this and use it when it suits them also. Great points!
I appreciate how he put it too. I don't believe it's that we're stronger but, so many Black women (especially on reality tv) play into that being louder, more sassy persona. And yes, it gives other women the opportunity to play that against us when the 💩 hits the fan.
TheJw1358 That was well played. And you’re right. I do tend to be a straight shooter and people in general can’t take that. Especially when I’m speaking some truths they don’t want to hear. Then I’m the outsider. The rebel. The attitude. When in all due reality, I am the TRUTH! I don’t play the games that they play and I’m not dumb enough not to see them when they do. So, I’m labeled a problem. Folks wanna fuck over you but, they don’t want you to see it. I could go on and on all night. LOL! I’ve been forced to be stronger. People take my kindness for weakness until they mess over me and find out I’m not that nice. I promise you that I am the most loving, understanding, and compassionate person you can ever meet. But when I feel threatened or that someone is trying to play me, I strike out. Maybe I should just start crying. Idk... I could really learn from you though.
TheJw1358 I'm glad you peeped that and kept your cool. That's the way you turn the tables on these hoes. Getting loud and going off gets you nowhere, in the work place.
TheJw1358 You’re absolutely correct. I’ve even been told this before. Just hard for me not to react. I’m learning though. I’ve done well with my poker face lately. I do document everything. I’ve documented blatant favoritism where I was punished for doing something many others did and on of them, more than me. Of course, this information will only help me in court if I end up having to file a lawsuit. No one, and I mean no one at that place gives a damn. LOL!
I can't tell you how much I love and appreciate your perspective. I love your ability to see a situation from both sides. You hit the nail on the head with this one!
This is why I follow him because he does speak the truth, but I don't think Kim was the only brave white woman willing to enter the lions den with the other black women, I feel that she is considered trash when measured up to her other counterparts like Orange County & Beverly Hills, I feel RHOA was her only and final offer, if she could've went to any other show she would've been gone.
In the 90’s the Rodney King tragedy was dominate and national race story. Racism has ALWAYS been the “hot topic.” Yes we didn’t have social media but the rural and inter cites was getting effected by the crack epidemic and etc.
I don’t think Quad is as many people’s fave as you would like to think.... she may have been after M2M S1 going into S2. But people start seeing her true fake over the top personality and how she really wanted to be Mariah when it comes to the circle. I understand Quad is your former co star and possible friend but quiet as it’s kept, Mariah has more fans than Quad
I’ve been saying this for the longest, “Some people want to see you do better but NEVER better than them!” They was good until NeNe could do what they could do. And now that she can do what they can’t... oh they is Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!! Watching the last 10 minutes of that reunion you could really see how much Sheree is on the outside looking in! And the last 5 minutes revealed that Kim has only been loyal to her agenda and using these women to make a coin and she used being the only white woman in a room full of black women to her advantage to secure the crossover appeal and secure the bag!
Dineva you did a great job. You can tell Nene came into this season with a open heart wanting to have fun. Kim from the beginning wanted to tear her down she can't stand to see her successful and in a beautiful new home. You hit the nail on the head about relationship dynamics. A lot of people miss that!
I do not perpetuate the angry black woman stereotype I go out of my way not to. Even when I’m TRIED in public I do my best to act exactly the opposite of how I’m expected. It’s not easy but it is important for me to represent my culture in a positive way.
Kudos to you for being so graceful. I try to do the same, but it can be exhausting. I try not to let society police my emotions/experience so when I need to stand in my truth, I do it.
That is the best you can do. Dont let no one move you out yourself. People do things to others, expecting a particular reaction. If you pop off, youre giving them what they want. If you give them the opposite, THEY CANT TAKE IT.
I am soooo disappointed in Sheree on sooo many levels. Kim should never come back to the show and Andy finally told Kim the truth about herself...."your story was negative and combative". Bye😂😂
So on point (per usual) about everything but especially the Sheree/NeNe dynamic. In part 1 of the reunion she even said that NeNe was not "that girl" pre Housewives. How the tables have turned.
She got fired for several reasons. Lack of a good storyline. Siding with the wrong people, intentionally making herself an outsider from the rest of the cast. Not hustling at all, solely depending on the show to pay for that house she knows she can't afford to upkeep. Sheree is flat out stupid. How sad is it for a 48 year old person to get fired for repeating the same mistakes they did 6 years ago?
Being on dr. Iyanla fix my life surely didn't fix Sheree's life! Shame! Never liked her or kim and do hope that they become "once upon a time when we were on RHOA"!
I'm only halfway thru video and Whooooooooo Wheeeeee...and that part about Power Shifts.....happens EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! I swear your speaking about my and my current friendship...the dynamic has changed!!!
Funky Deneva, I'm so proud of you-you have really brought a lot of clarity on RHOA, all the way down to the nitty-gritty!! I so appreciate you & yes you so have earned your score on RU-vid! I SO ENJOYED YOU THIS DAY-I'M A follower now! Keep it coming! Much Love to you!
Mona Liza Drop a link with your proof? cuz idk whom he married but if he did.....All the more, he speaking from experience?!? hard data. not just speculation. Cuz if you watch or listen to the bit he was clear about their tears and how white men don't care about them except to punish us.
Dineva...Trayvon Martin's mother & Philando Castile's girlfriend are gonna be on next Saturday's episode of Iyanla Fix my life...I really hope you watch it & do a review on it.
But Sheree will never fit in on Kim’s show. Sheree is only good for gossiping. On Kim’s show, they just stand around her kitchen talking gibberish with that chef. I can’t even picture Sheree playing with Kim’s kids or anything like that.
My friends and I just had this discussion about white women tears. Each of us has encountered this and when we use the same tone in response we are the ones in the wrong.
I thought it was just jealously coming from Sheree about Nene. You are right about ego and hierachy within groups of friends. Sheree has a real problem with Nene's success because it changed the dynamics of the social circle.
You know what Q made me think of? Y’all remember Love and Hip Hop? Consequence’s wife made the statement she will never be out of work because she white? I truly believe that white people have that sense of security knowing they are white and the scale will forever tilt in their favor.
Every video you do is on point. Everytime a reality show comes on I can't wait to hear that notification to hear your take on it. You hit the nail on the head every single time. I liiiiive!!!!
I will be completely honest...this is one of the most realest videos I've seen in a long time and I was literally glued to the channel. The articulation and common sense that you used in order to get to the deeper part of the reunion was intriguing. You are right on all fronts and I loved it. Until you broke it down with what Kim meant when she was in the bathroom, I was like alright now you can't be that stupid Kim. Now I will say this...I was born in 79 and in Charleston, SC so trust when I say that racism was all over the South but yes when the internet got invented some years afterwards and then phones became popular and pics etc. That's when it all started being the forefront of the conversations, BUT when Trump got into office, that's when all the dormant racist started appearing because they feel that the president has given them a free pass. Yes with Trayvon Martin and even a few years prior to that it was starting to show but EVERYTHING came out with Trump got into office. Even though it was always there with those people, he just brought it to the forefront. So I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Keep it up...sorry for the lengthy discussion
Maaaaaan I had to stop and shake my head. YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD ABOUT THAT CRYING BABAYYYYY THAT IS THE TRUTH. The power is in those damn tears. THIS IS A FACT , DINEVA I E BEEN SAYING THIS FOR EVERRRRRRRRR. I’ve had the same scenarios being cursed out etc and as soon as people come around they cry and play the victim. People that show up always assume they are the victim and go to them first even when they are the aggressor.
Does anyone remember in one of Kim’s confessional years ago when she said I’m sick of the N....... and it seemed like it was forgotten about and Bravo edited It out tried sweep it under the rug? Yeah she’s a racist and been a racist this ain’t something that’s recent. I remember that shyt!
Im glad that you finally acknowledged that Porsha was in charge of the girls. I would love for you to elaborate more on that topic. Good, bad, or indifferent Porsha stood her ground and was not taking any bull from any of the ladies during this reunion and she did it with class.
