Hello Everyone,
I've had the Kindle Scribe for 9 Months now and i wanted to share my thoughts on it. Writing on the Kindle is now possible with the new kindle scribe and it's even more fun with the premium pen. Should you get the new kindle scribe? What updates have we gotten? I hope I can answer all of these questions in this video.

Keidy beautiful review thank you so much. Another neat feature is sending PDF files to the Scribe and you can scribble all over them. So I created a nice bullet journal PDF for calendar and weekly planning. It’s fun making your own templates.

Writing directly into books is not gonna happen. Think about it: When you write into a physical book, you write into the margins, or circle things and you can do that because the thing you're referencing will always be in the same spot relative to your scribbles. But what happens when you change font size or line spacing or margins? The thing you referenced in the top margin is now on another page (hell, the whole top margin is at a different place in the text now!). The sentence you underlined now has line breaks in different places and starts and ends at different points in the line. The word you circled is now in a different place. You can't do notes directly in books without the Kindle actually understanding what you're annotating and why. Or you can, but then you have to disable all the options that allow you to change the layout. That's why you _can_ annotate PDFs.

I’m a software engineer, It’s totally doable, just anchor the note to the word. Just think about it. They are already syncing an audio book to the ebook location which is a much harder task.
@hellterminator
@hellterminator 8 месяцев назад
@@jamescooke1844 That's literally what they're doing now - that's why you need to make a selection before you can write your annotation (or even just select a spot in text for a sticky note) - and people seem to hate it.

I just got the kindle scribe. Love how big it is. Feels like a lighter hardcover book in my hands. My complaints are few and minor. I have the premium pen and find that I accidentally hit the shortcut button often due to its placement. I wish it was a slider instead of a button that you hold down. I also agree that there should be more note related features given the price and its marketing. Overall great device

I got the Scribe when it went on sale for $199 after taxes on. the pre-Prime Day to replace my 6.8 inch Paperwhite. I must say I was surprised at how huge it was. The difference between 6.8 and the 10.2 feels absurd.

I'm thinking Amazon deliberately omitted page turn buttons hoping to get early adopters to shell out the money for the first version and then have them shell out more money for an upgraded version with page turn buttons. I've never seen anyone complain about page turn buttons. The buttons allow one handed operation. Without them you need to use your other hand to tap the screen over and over again. Maybe they can let you program the device to advance the page by hitting the screen on the opposite side. But to flip,the device to use it with the other hand would require adjusting the settings again. Me? I need the buttons.,
@KeidyReyes
@KeidyReyes Месяц назад
I have never had the device with the buttons so I can’t really comment on that but I don’t have trouble flipping pages. I can flip this device and the screen adjust very well. Thank you for sharing!

@@KeidyReyes I wouldn't expect anyone to have trouble turning a page on a Paperwhite. I'm must saying it is so much easier to do somon an Oasis. You hold the Oasis in such a way that your thumb naturally rests on the page turning button. Just lightly press and the page turns. When I had a Paperwhite I constantly had to swing my opposite hand around and tap on the screen. A small but constant annoyance. I mean, it would be a pain to have to tap the top of my head to use a remote to change the channel on my TV. Not a big deal, but not something that I'd choose to do if given the option to just change the channel without tapping the top of my head. The lack of buttons on the Paperwhite is a deal breaker. But again, if you are unaware of say, the joy of a roller coaster then you don't know enough to want to ride a roller coaster. Either way, I'd rather read a book on an Oasis or a Paperwhite that lug around the actual book. Funny thing. I used to read one book, at a time, only starting a different book after I finished the one I was reading. Now I find I'm reading thre different t books, say, a history book, a book of fiction, and a science book. I would read one book when I had to carry every book I was going to read on a plane. Now I can carry a thousand books on one device ... and so it is easy to read a chapter and then switch to a different book and read a chapter ... keeping me on my toes and piquing my interest in a wide variety of genres and subjects. Has his happened with you?

Thank you. I've had the Scribe for a couple of months and I am very happy with it. I found a few sites that offer free e-books in pdf format, and they download easily using the "send to kindle" feature. I can then write on the pages, which is helpful. I am hoping Amazon, like you said, will allow for writing directly on ANY book, not just pdf books and documents. I would also love to be able to use the lasso tool to circle a section on a book page and copy and paste it into the notebook section. Maybe in time, with future updates or in future new models, they will greatly improve the functionality. Great review!

I’m not sure why Amazon is holding off on the function of writing on our ebooks when kobo already allows it for one of their devices. It seems nobody is mentioning an important thing: everytime you turn the page, the screen takes a long time (thinking?) then it flashes and goes completely black, and only then does it show the next page. I think Not being able to write on the Book's pages is a Ridiculous complaint. It is Ridiculous because there is Absolutely No Room to write. The Sticky Notes is perfect you can write long detailed Notes, something you can Not do writing on the page filled with the Text of the Book. Opening the Sticky Note is easy. I think people who are making these Kindle Scribe videos are just looking for something to complain about. This complaint is really out there. Especially since you are Not a person who has even ever made notes in a physical book before. 🫣🤯 You think you Might write ✍️ notes on the page if you could... Seriously you have never done it before so why would you start doing it exclusively with the Kindle Scribe. A totally Insane criticism from you. People who write in books 📚 do it in Books they often use like Textbooks and the Bible. Kindle Scribe lets you highlight text, which is the best thing to highlight the text you want to easily find again. Most Books read for pleasure are read once and done so to write over the text notes in a book you most likely will never read again is pointless.

They are Not People who read more than a few, 4 or 5 Books a year.
