Read for you, nobody else otherwise reading starts to feel like a chore and there's nothing worse than losing one of your passions to that feeling. Reading is really the ultimate escapism and should be the one thing, at least, that you can do without any pressure because all you really need to do it is you and a book. I've been reading since childhood and the only time I didnt enjoy it was when I started paying attention to what everyone else was reading and started tracking on Goodreads instead of just indulging whatever caught my interests, whenever it caught my interest. The only difference between a 'new' reader and 'old' reader is that over time, you develop your personal tastes and habits and you start to naturally pick up on themes et from seeing them repeated. That's really it. It's not about hitting stats or keeping up with others because reading should be a personal experience that nobody else but you experiences because nobody reads the same book the exact same way. If you read one book in a year that you really savor and cant stop thinking about then you've already had a better experience than someone who has pressured themselves to read 100 just for the sake of saying they did it.

For romance I also highly recommend ali hazelwood (specifically love hypothesis and love theoretically because I have not read the others LOL). I eat her books up so much it’s almost embarrassing but just something about her writing makes it hard to put the book down. Also I HAVE to recommend the a good girl’s guide to murder trilogy. Best trilogy I’ve ever read (six stars for me) and holly jackson’s writing is next level. Five survive is her most recent book and again, so phenomenal and so suspenseful. AGGGTM is also in the process of being made into a Tv show (starring emma myers) so if you ever fancy reading a mystery/thriller it’s the perfect one!

i keep mine on white too except for when i'm reading in bed late at night! you can change the name of it but i can't remember how. try the settings on the kindle itself. i used my kindle app on my phone so it named my phone kindle and then my actual kindle ended up being kindle 2

Omg never relate to a sentence so much Lmaoo heavy on only reading two books and deem myself a book girlie lol. I’ve been reading wattpad books for almost a year and now I’m getting into reading physical books lol but my ick is that once I’m interested in something I tend to go all out. So for the past couple days I’ve been book shopping and now I’m on the verge of buying a kindle and all those skins, stickers , pop sockets etc so I can decorate it lol. I’m so excited for this new reading journey. 🥳🫧📚

After watching your first two videos I subscribed pronto! Love your energy and vibes. And you are correct about tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow- literary fiction to me seems more like vibes or telling a story and character development/growth. Excited for this journey of yours! Also- to help with some reading terms instead of dual perspective you can say dual POV (point of view)!

5th Kindle etc. means the app is probably installed on other devices under the same Amazon Kindle account as well, so based on the number of devices that kindle is installed on, it will count sequentially that way. So, eg. 4 kindle apps + the Kindle device itself is 5!

for what you said about your physical books getting messed up in your purse get a book sleeve!! there are super cute ones on etsy and at barnes and noble. just a little thing you can put your book into the help protect it. i also always take off my dust jackets while im reading the book so they don’t get ruined LMAO

If ur eyes hurt after a few hours of reading , put ur kindle on night mode it helps A LOT! .. My eyes used to hurt me from my phone/ipad/ pc literally any screen after few hours but when i bought my kindle it's on night mode always and i could read for as many hours as i wanted

If you don’t already know, you can change the name of your kindle if you got to settings, then press “Your Account”, and then press “Device Name” and then you can change it to whatever you want.

The way that the kindle is able to get that matter look is because the screen uses e-ink panels and not an lcd screen like your phone. E-ink panels are lit up from the sides pointing sideways so they don’t directly hit your eyes. While lcd screens give us full blasts of light. I just learned that e-ink is a whole company and not just something Amazon made. They source out the panels for almost all ereaders.
