I’ve been told they’ll be in stock and able to order today (Sat, 3/9) at 2pm PT. Might want to grab one before they sell out again. Not sure how big the batch is. Good luck!
This is by far the most interesting paddle from Mark Kinetic but reviewing the other hybrid paddle would be helpful to compare the difference in face material!
I’m still using my Kinetic after 3 months… it’s so light, hits so hard, and I’ve been able to work my soft touch game for third shot drops and dink battles with it just fine. As important as dinking is, having a paddle with good pop is so important as most competitive matches I play, people just don’t dink as often as they should…and when they’re so impatient to get to the speed up (even on great dinks that keep the ball low) you want have something with punch and pop so you capture those points when they do those kinds of speed ups. Same for playing bangers, this paddles helped me turn some matches against highly skilled bangers with nice drop on their forehand drives. I’d buy another from Mark after playing with this paddle every week for 3 months.
Great review - love the feel of kevlar paddles! Would love to see a review of the new Sword and Shield Kevlar as well since I’m trying to make up my mind which one to purchase. Trying kevlar paddles has definitely helped my tennis elbow.
Just got mine and I'm really liking it. Spin is also very good. I did notice that the face does collect a lot of ball debris. I'd use caution when cleaning it.
Very interesting and I just bought my first hybrid shape and one day would like to try the Kevlar and see. I think the Pulse looks interesting too and would be interested on your comparison to this.
Thanks for the review. Just based on looks, I assumed it would be like the Ruby, good to know it's not. Pure might be more my speed, would love a review of that one next.
Looks like the obvious difference between the Kinetic and the Pro Line Energy S in that the Kinetic is thermoformed. The PLES is a Gen 1 paddle with no Foam Injected Edge or edge seal. I have the PLES as well and it definitely feels more plush than the Kinetic that I played with.
I feel ya. Mark Pickleball has a pretty good return policy. There’s a restocking fee if it’s used. But that does give you some peace of mind. Also, I’ve never had an issue getting in touch with someone over at Mark if I needed to. I can’t say the same about other companies.
@MatthewKPickleball Couldn’t agree more Matt! Would really like to see the Mark Kinetic E, once it’s available, lined up against the Apes Energy. Honestly think I’ll be snagging regular Kinetic this morning with the restock, but a giveaway second for the wife would be a lovely pair!
I have one of these and have been playing with it. I LOVE the power and can confirm that it's a banger. I do feel like it has some nice touch though especially at the kitchen. Felt very easy to get the dinks over without much effort. More just thinking about where I want the ball to go. Highly highly recommend this. I'm interested in seeing a review of the pure which is a hybrid shape too.
Interesting, I thought Kevlar made the paddles more plush. Kinetic seems like a very good power paddle from the specs, 62.8 mph and 2001 rpm is exceptional, 115 swing weight and 6.55 twist weight is excellent to generate that much power. Slayer and Pulse are too heavy with swing weight 124 and 127 in my experience, eventually you would develop tennis elbow and wrist pain, 115-118 would be ideal, Pure doesn't stand out. I would like to see a elongated version of Kinetic, with swing weight 117-118, twist weight higher than 6.3.
I’ve been told an elongated version is in the works! I thought the same thing about Kevlar being plush, but it seems that’s not always the case. I think a lot depends if it’s blended with something as well.
I played with the Krypton (now called Kinetic E for elongated) and I love it! I'm curious what you think! And the Pure 16mm. Thanks for the review and chance to win!
I would like to see a comparison between the Kinetic and the Pure (Hybrid). The Kinetic has really peaked my interest, I’m holding off on ordering the Ruby which is currently sold out.
I'd like to know if it's a "Hard Feeling" paddle or a "Soft Feeling paddle like the Joola Ben Johns "Hyperion" I prefer the soft feel coming off the paddle as opposed to a Gear Box feel. I hope this makes sense. Love your videos. Keep up the great content!
I would say it’s stiff (especially at the kitchen with soft hits), but some folks might disagree. If you want a softer-feeling Kevlar face paddle, might want to check out my review of the Honolulu J2K.
Been thinking of adding a kevlar paddle. My friend has the paddle and loves it. Would like to see a review of the Pure next since it's hybrid. Not a fan of elongated paddles.
well, since you haven't tried the Ruby yet and I have 3 of them and it is my gamer, I think it is time to compare the Mark Kinetic to the Ruby so you get a 1st hand experience of both paddles...I love my Ruby but this paddle is piquing my interest
Be interested in comparison of the Mark One vs CF3. I’m looking for the best bang for your buck. 😅. Is the giveaway still available for the Kinetic? Thanks for your reviews.
I’ll be doing a video on the whole Mark Kevlar line-up soonish. I’ll see if they’ll do a giveaway. And the CF3 video will come out, hopefully, this week. I’m sick right now, so hoping I’ll get the energy to edit it still. As for the Kinetic giveaway, that one’s done. And this paddle doesn’t really exist anymore in this form. But there are a few other giveaways going with my more recent videos in case you’re interested!
