There's so many subtle nods to Alicent's sudden reduction in power. The way she stares at the throne where she used to sit, the way Aegon acknowledges her last after greeting the Lords and the snide remark from the one of the council.
These people are crazy(other than that one lord in black). They expect Rhaenyra to accept their terms after Prince Aemond killed her son, which is his nephew by the way. Like guy is a full born kinslayer and no one in their council is like "Damn, wtf dude?!". Iirc, their book counter parts, at least the Queen and Hand saw the horror of it.
Man I'm Team Black but you can tell Aegon is already a better father than Viserys because he cared about including his young son in the council. Though ruling wise he is not.
Yet in the show, King Viserys was bedridden in his later years and it was Otto Hightower who was sitting on the throne. Shouldn't Otto have considered including Aegon, if he planned on installing him?
@@hungryguru011 They probably kept him in the dark because, in the event Otto's coup failed, he wouldn't be blamed for it. Same reason they kept Alicent out of it too; the less she knew, the less likely she would be punished if something went wrong.
Trying to humiliate the Lannister was a big mistake. His brother is one of the great lords of Westeros. Aegon will soon make new enemies because is this kind of slight.
The Lannisters were pretty much doormats during this time. Kind of reminds me of how even though lions are majestic and powerful, you can always tame one in a circus.
Lannisters pays their debts. But they seem pretty incompetent in this generation. Then again, there are softer, nicer Lannisters in the book like Tywin's dad and brother, even Tyrion and Jaime to some degree.
Yeah... ignore all the terrible stuff team green did and side with them only because aegon is being a better father than his father... i'm team black and at least i'm ashamed by what daemon did... unlike you team green delusional people... your time commits all kinds of bad things and you still see through their terrible deeds
@@SunDogGod Yeah, there was a theory too that Hightower and Starfall were the furthest western outpost of the Great Empire of the Dawn which were speculated to be the first dragon riders. The few who survived taught the Valyrian sheep herders about the blood magic required to control dragons. It's just a theory though.
