He kept going to the end til he couldn't tho dude from Deep Blue Sea kept sneaking that dagger blade every chance he could. He wasn't beating Tristan straight up in a legit sword fight and everyone knows it!!!
thank you for the tribute, this character at the time I watched stole my attention, maybe because of the actor's talent, or because of the character itself, or maybe both
Glad to see you back! =-) Thank you so much for all the support within these years. It really means a lot to me! Everything seems brighter when you are around...
i don´t know what the fuck his sword was supposed to be, but that´s not a "scimitar" it´s a chinese Dao, a model of Dao that wouldn´t exist till the 17TH CENTURY. No idea how Tristan got that.
I thought it was a falchion; straight, with a sharp curve at the end. I could be wrong. Scimitars were turkic, so may not have reached Europe by the end of the Roman empire, although the Sarmatians were an Iranian-speaking people, and would undoubtedly have had contact with Sassanid Persia, as well as other steppe peoples to the east, who may have been ethnically turkic, so it's possible that the sword was obtained through trade or conflict with a neighbouring people that would, in turn, have bought or taken it from an eastern source. Or he didn't bring it with him, and bought it in Britain; goods moved all over the empire, and came into it from far away. Apparently there are records of roman senators complaining that foreign silks (which we now know came from China, via Persia) were hurting the Roman fabric industry. Britain wasn't as isolated an outpost as many people think; it was a valuable part of Rome's Western empire (though by the time the film is set, it was suffering as a struggling Rome prioritised closer provinces). OR Some concept artist thought "I'm gonna make one with a curved sword", didn't do any research, and drew the character with a Chinese sword that wouldn't exist for another twelve centuries. Edit: I just checked, and falchions didn't appear until the 13th century, and that sword isn't a falchion anyway, so I'm going to go with "concept artist didn't do the research" on this one.
@@18Hongo What if the Concept Artist or Director intended do give us this Room for Speculation or it was just done to give Arthurs Knights unique Characters with the different Styles and Weapons? btw i like the Way you think about the Possibilty of the Sarmatians and Romans having Knowledge of different Cultures What about a Swordsmith getting high on Mushrooms and beeing creative? ^^ Sickles existed for 10000 Years but Nobody had the Idea to make a curved Sword or similar Weapon? 🤔
