I love how the Showa Ghidorah died from literally getting beaten to death, like, holy shit. I was expecting him exploding or anything other than just getting mercilessly kicked the shit out of with no chance of defending himself.

Interesting how Zone Fighter lured King Ghidorah into combat on Venus, the very planet that was reportedly decimated eons before by the three-headed space monster.
I love KG he’s my favourite villain I know he’s often “controlled” by other alien races but I believe he’s honestly just taking advantage of them for a chance to take another shot at Godzilla. I think he’s held a grudge against Godzilla since his first defeat
Showa Ghidorah would put up a good fight but in the end Destroyah would win due to his durability (he was able to survive the infinite heat ray which gets stronger everytime he uses it)

Godzilla was fucking up MKG despite MKG having help from 2 or 3 MG units, and Godzilla only had help from Anguirus who is objectively inferior to the MG units. Godzilla is far superior to Mecha-King Ghidorah, who is equal to the other ghidorahs. Theyre all still high tier just st the bottom of it
My favorite kaiju and my favorite incarnation of this kaiju. I completely agree with the quote from the compendium. At the end of the day, this King Ghidorah is a powerful, inherently evil monster; mind controlled or not, he still will destroy all life for his own sadistic pleasure. I mean, he wiped out all life on Venus for FUN, and I don’t believe he was being mind controlled by anyone at that point.
@@tylerjones7592 very tough to decide but i think destoroyah, he laughed as he killed Godzilla jr and strangled Godzilla and appeared to have true malice, Ghidorah, other than sadism, seems to gain some kind of energy from destroying planets.

There already different looks of Ghidorah. In Showa, he appears out of exposed meteorite and the shape of the red gem stone. In Heisei, he appears thru time warp. In both Rebirth of Mothra and Giant Monsters all out attack, he appears out of ancient cave and underneath from the ground. Keizer Ghidorah appears from meteorite again after changing his form. Now! The newest Godzilla King of Monster, King Ghidorah appears out of an ice from anartica.
I always imagined the Destroy All Monsters Ghidorah having survived but was kinda just stuck underground. So it lived the rest of its life underground or something xd
I still adore the idea of Venus being the previous life planet rather than Mars. It just makes so much more sense... And I'm not saying I was pushed into this idea as a child by a golden dragon but-

Unfortunately for him, his final masters over estimated his powers, and thought that he could take on an island full of monsters, despite being just more powerful than a single monster.
If it's true that Toho has plans for a Godzilla cinematic universe, Ghidorahs need to be the main antagonists. Not just king Ghidorah, all of them. Death Ghidorah, Emperor Ghidorah, and a bunch of new Ghidorahs, with Keizer acting as this cinematic universe's equivalent to Thanos.

If it weren't for the many mind controls from various alien races King Ghidorah would've been far more formidable as he was in his debut. The Kilaaks should've taken notes from the other aliens that controlled him.

I'm actually saddened by the Godzilla vs Astro Monster because it turned King Ghodorah, the ravager of worlds, into the pet of alien civilizations bent of concurring Earth which end up falling victim to their own dumb mistakes.
I really don't get why they didn't just update King Ghidorah's giggling like they update the other members of the Big 5's roars. By giving post Showa Ghidorah a modified roar they remove one of the things that makes him not another generic dragon and make Rodan's roar less unique (which was also given to Battra). It's especially ridiculous when monsters like Baragon who originally had a modified Godzilla roar would later be given an original roar. It's a disservice to both Rodan and Ghidorah (and Battra to a lesser extent since he was a new monster, and being a dark Mothra twin it would have been acceptable to have a modified Mothra chirp).

Agreed. I love Heisei Ghidorah but the Showa version has a much better back story, more unique sound effects, felt more like a worthy apponnent, and has a greater impact in the storyline he was apart of.
@@Wikizilla True, but I feel that the showa version had this vibe to him that's been lost in new media. The Chinese dragon inspired design, bell like cackles, the wild movements of his necks, gravity beam spamming and love of terror and destruction. I appreciate the space origin being kept in non-film media. in my opinion, the Heisei and GMK are too different from the Showa KG, in terms of characterization, behavior and origin. Not to mention they each have fascinating backstories that should be explored individually, in my opinion.

Looking back I kinda like how Showa ghidorah final appearence takes place on Venus, the planet he turned into a lifeless husk. I wonder if they actually reference that in the episode of if it’s just a happy accident.
This has oppened my eyes to two things. 1.I used to think he was just about about 60 meters or a little higher with his necks stretched up. But now I realise he was actually the first 100 meter tall kaiju. 2. He does have more abilities than just gravity beams and flight

Showa Ghiddy never really stands at his full height most of the time though. I only remember him doing so after knocking Goji into a bridge in GTTHM, and a couple times in ZF. If he fully straightened his necks upward, he probably would be 100 meters tall. I could be wrong, but the suit's necks seemed to be shorter in DAM than they were in Monster Zero.
