Of course i was born much later after the series had already been completed, but i still watched it as a kid. I believe they said if Godzilla had exploded, it would have had a "burst of energy unseen since the big bang" meaning it would have taken out far far more than just Earth.
Glad you finally cleared up that misconception that Super Mechagodzilla using the G-Crusher killed Godzilla. I kept telling everyone if they paid better attention theyd see godzilla still breathing and moving slightly, a sign that hes attempting to regenerate the brain.
Its pretty clear the G Crusher didn't kill Godzilla outright as they switched to Mechagodzilla's other weapons to try to finish the job but Godzilla held on prompting Junior to call out to Rodan to help.
Nine_Tails137 I watched Godzilla vs Destoroyah when I was 5 or 6. Watching my Kaiju hero die (and watching Godzilla Jr. die) made me cry for about 2 hours. Destoroyah is still my most hated Kaiju to this very day
+Phantom_Wolf Honestly, I never got to see any Kaiju Movies until my mid to late Teen Years, so by the time I was able to see Godzilla vs Destoroyah, I was more Pissed off than Sad about Destoroyah killing Godzilla Jr. Basically, my Reaction was all like: DAMN YOU DESTOROYAH!!!! C'MON BIG G! WASTE THAT BASTARD!!!! Although I still cried internally!

The Heisei era will always remain my favorite. The interconnected continuity between the films is truly endearing to me and lead me to feel that this series had the best world-building in the franchise. Things like the Super X and elaborations of Godzilla's anatomy like his magnetic mapping ability akin to birds, his hip-brain, and his telepathic attraction to others of his kind such as Biollante, Junior, and Spacegodzilla are really good at developing this creature and his world. Thought TBF, the only other series that had a comparable continuity is the Showa era and it didn't really use it much.
Also Godzilla Jr The Future King Of The Monsters and his legacy is still unknown and after his father death he was killed by meltdown he died in natural but his son is still alive In that Universe Of Heisei Era

the hesei Godzilla is definitely one of my favourite incarnations of the character because this version of Godzilla actually has character development he’s a lot different from when we first see him in Godzilla 1984 to when we last see him in Godzilla vs destoroyah he goes from being a threat and danger to humanity to being more of an anti hero not being like a full on super hero like the Godzilla in the later Showa movies but being more a monster of the earths wrath that we later sympathise for not to mention his iconic design even though toho is trying to market the design of shin Godzilla more I feel like the hesei Godzilla design is the most iconic design of the character
The Heisei series was near perfection, it had a great kick off movie and had a good well put together movie universe with all being tied together. I think we all respect the Showa series but it was too convoluted with random changes to monster's attitudes and some odd movies (Hedorah, All monster attack) as well as being plagued by the effects of the time. The Millennium era was just too much, nearly every movie was it's own thing and it led to way too many complications. The Heisei era on the other hand was just great all around.
I feel like tge way they written godzilla in the heisei series is what helped keep the series consistently good. Keeping godzilla more animalistic in nature and not having it be overly convoluted either with aliens or anything overly supernatural.
I thought the Kiryu saga was pretty good. I liked the Evangelion similarities. I liked Showa in the beginning, but the later films seemed overly childish and campy. However, I thought Final Wars did a good job of showcasing the Showa era’s numerous iconic Kaiju, and the effects were much better. Overall though, Hesei was the best, with good writing, a tone that wasn’t to dark or childish, and a good ending that made the whole set of films seem conclusive. Even though it only had a few new monsters, they all have great designs and are some of my favorites.

The thing I loved about the Heisei series was that, after Return of Godzilla, his characteristics and appearance remain consistent. I also like that they restored Godzilla as a force to be reckoned with, and not a child-friendly super hero. Godzilla is a monster. His name is god fucking Zilla. Not Barney.
Still the saddest Godzilla of all time.. Him melting down is hard on any real G Fan. I was showing my Sister his last fight in Dec 2017..A unexpected event happened. I burst into great amount of tears I didnt know it would hit me that hard....reason why it did I lost my wife in January 20 2017 It will be a year in 5 days of my posting this. Godzillas death scene flicked that cry switch on hard. I cry everyday just about since My wife left me She was only 47 and we were married for 24 and a half years and together for 25 and a half years I didnt expect that to happen...but I should have known better anything remotely sad or heartbreaking sets me into tears these days. 5 Days it will be a year...time doesnt heal this kind of pain..nothing does...True love when you are so close to the person and kept every vow made and never touched another woman PERIOD... Oh and marriage doesnt Kill the sex. With us it doubled from the year we were together and the day we married she doubled the sex output and as time went on it was more and more.YES i can prove that...I have all her letters she wrote me and i wrote her. I was beyond lucky to have her as my wife and she spoiled me in many ways...
Great Job dude. Grew up on this version of Godzilla and it is still my favorite design and the 1991 roar is my all time favorite. Showed this to my freinds the other day to show them why I love this franchise so much. I then showed them the 1954 version and they then understood why the franchise was so respected.
The heisei godzilla to me is the best iteration of godzilla as he's a lot more animalistic in nature, and not just good or bad, he's more like an animal defending it's territory when another monster appears if anything

Hey, you made a mistake. You said Godzilla defeated King Ghidorah with his sprial heat beam, but he wouldn't have that until Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla.
The first version of Godzilla's spiral beam is utilized in _Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah_ to sever King Ghidorah's middle head. This version of the spiral beam is still blue in color and is wrapped in an electrical spiral. Godzilla would not gain the more well-known red spiral beam until _Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II,_ but he still had a type of spiral beam before that.

Heisei Godzilla is legit my favorite Godzilla. The stories may of been “wtf” but to me, this is the first Godzilla movie series to actually play along together and work. I always loved the designs and how the suits and special effects worked in the heisei films. Being a little girl, these movies acually made me believe Godzilla was real because of how animalistic Godzilla looked or how well put together the designs were. It was a sad shocker for me finding out Godzilla was fake when I was younger lol...It was like finding out santa was fake for a little kid! I love Godzilla films and the heisei era is personally the best Godzilla in my eyes. Ending the series perfectly! As usual this was a welly put together video ^^
This was a awesome streamlined history of the Heisei Godzilla movies, its epic when Godzilla fights Space Godzilla to protect his baby and his gets captured, i always remember seeing that and the music in Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla is really nice especially at the end when Godzilla dies and the young Godzilla appears, Godzilla forever.
He took 4 nukes bassically and a lot of nuclear plants and rodans... To make Burning Godzilla...wow...damn... And than Fire Godzilla only took (after the hydrogen bomb attack) 1 nuke and mothras eneergy....to make Fire Godzilla which was already powerful damn...i feel like Godzilla has infinite possibilities to power.
Heisei is my favorite era, i remember buying godzilla vs biolante VHS at the suncoast in out mall lol. I was like, wait there's more after 1985? A couple of years after that time magazine ran an artical about how godzilla was to be killed off and i was like...man i missed a lot lol. Then DVDs became a thing and the double feture DVD sets came out, needless to say the first DVD I bought was the Space godzilla and Destroyah double sided dvd, and the first Evangelion dvd dubbed by the legendary ADV lol.

Heisei Godzilla just spends a good 15 years taking massive punishment over and over. Getting his reactor of a heart practically stopped, the A.N.E.B infection, Ghidorah being Ghidorah, getting his shit kicked in by the Moths, getting his BRAIN EXPLODED, fighting his edgy, child kidnapping space-clone, getting his house blown up, which gives him NUCLEAR CANCER, before fighting the DEADLIEST FUCKING CRAB and then LITERALLY MELTING. Its nuts.
Well, Japan has Monster Problems, the US have Alien Invasions and the rest of the World is just sittingt around, having some popcorn, ejoying the scenerie. Sometime Japan and the US exchange the Problems, so that the US got a Zilla or King Kong and Japan some Time travelling Aliens (creating Ghidorah or some stuff).
Everything they did in WW2. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are unforgivable, but holy shit, the japanese did some really messed up things during the war.
