It just occurred to me that they seem to know all these people. There's no aide standing there introducing the guests or reminding their majesties who they are. They can't all be cousins. I'm amazed and pleased.
It's their 80 year birthday party. Many of them are probably personal friends and aquaintances. The rest are public figures that even I could name. The prime minister, the chief justice, the president of parliament, both current and former mayor of Oslo, former leader of the olympic comitee and a few known artists.
No not all, but many of those wearing tiaras are family members. King Harald, King Carl XVII Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Margarethe of Denmark are all first cousins to start off woth. And to add to it, of the three, King Harald is the most closely related to Queen Elizabeth since his payernal grandmother was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, Queen Maud and his grandfather was born a Swedish pronce and was Queen Margarethe's mother's brother.
TM King Harald and Queen Sonja turned 80 in 2017. This video may've been posted a few months ago, but their actual joint birthday party was almost five years ago
Queen Margrethe is quite the fashionable lady. She has designed costumes for several ballet’s and even drew water colors for a “Lord of the ring” book. And she designed a lot of her gowns herself!! Beautiful lady and her engagement ring she supposedly helped design…it has 2 slightly square 6 carat diamonds in the toi moi style, two stones representing each partner. An absolute stunner!! I noticed many royal women keep their figures.
I have never seen such a fit group of older people in my life. In the US, we would see many pot bellies and dowagers humps. Only a small handful of Chubbies. 🏆
Queen Sonja has always looked so beautiful, young and fit…and so has Queen Margrethe of Denmark!! Very impressive, those Scandinavians!! ✨❤️✨💐❤️💐✨❤️✨ The King speaks perfect English as if he were a North American! 🤫😉And, by the way, Queen Margrethe is quite the excellent speaker of English as well. ✨❤️✨
Queen Sonja is very fit for her age, maybe because of her active life style, she loves nature and hiking. For Queen Margrethe, I don't know. She has not had had the most healthy life style, with heavy smoking, etc. But she is still fit for her age.
The King was raised in North America during his childhood when the family went into exile due to the war. Plus his great grandmother was Maud of the United kingdom.

Norway is supposed to be spell as North Way. Someone made an error on the English text. European states uses the English texts and reverse the writing to cause confusion. This needs to fixed.
Norway originally means 'the way north'. Nordvegr. Just like England originally means 'the land of the Anglo-Saxons'. Anglaland. But names evolve over 1000s of years.
The female reporter voice speaks in a western dialect. The male reporter speaks in a southern dialect. Queen Margrethe holds her speech in Danish. Crown Prince Haakon Magnus and Princess Märta Louise hold their speech in Oslo dialect.

Why do they speak in English and not their mother tongue? Its very usuall. The british royal family never show up to these events, its their lose! They are very closed off , these royals let their people know they are people also and nothing else, so down to earth.
