King Lear to go (Shakespeare in 9 minutes)

Sommer's World Literature to go

It is the festive season - the time for family trouble. Now although conflicts have to be carried out, don’t burn the bridges after the traditional family row under the Christmas tree. Otherwise - well, KING LEAR might happen. Michael Sommer and his Playmobil ensemble present a concise and entertaining version of Shakespeare’s tragedy. DISCLAIMER: WATCHING THIS VIDEO DOES NOT REPLACE READING IT! My recommendation: Read it yourself.

KING LEAR: A NEW INTRODUCTION ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y3z7N13mIrE.html "King Lear Unread" would have been a better title. A materialist reading basically, but without debunking the canonicity of either King Lear or William Shakespeare, because "RIPENESS IS ALL"

@lish285

The soldiers on the order of Edmund (5:3:19) take Lear & C away and Edmund tells Albany that he can hold a 'session' with them soon (try them for treason) but secretly sends a captain off to follow Lear & C with the order to kill them (around lines 240-255).
