Yea hangers make a HUGE difference

I mean,, can't you adjust the stiffness of the suspension on most of these? Curious as to have they all would preform if they were really 'dialed in' for the best comparison.

@@Poxyquotl looks like they got the non adjustable 2.5 shocks to make it a better comparison of all of them straight from the manufacturer

​​@@Poxyquotl They mentioned in the first video that 99% of shock buyers will never tune them, so they wanted to compare out of the box performance.

They aren’t true 2.5” shocks

​@@AlexM-np1cxThat's the propoganda certain manufacturers like to tell you. Are you aware that Fox 2.5 and King 2.5 use different piston sizes? Piston size is why they say the BP-51 isn't a true 2.5 There are 2 factors. 1. Surface area for heat to dissipate. This is essentially the external dimensions of the shock. Which BP-51 qualifies as 2.5. 2. Valve area to provide damping. Once you move past the primitive King and Fox 2.5 coilovers designs like the rest of the world has, you realise that there is more damping available than just on the main piston. In the case of the BP-51 this is through the internal bypass valves and also through the compression adjuster mechanism valves. So you take the 51mm piston (which is much larger than a Fox 2.0 piston) valve area, and add the bypass valves area and add the adjuster mechanism valves area.

BPs suck from what I’ve read. Not worth comparing from what I’ve been reading…

Yeah stock shocks should of been the control or base data

They were the best at high speed off-road, no shock will be perfect at everything. Don’t forget you can also revalve all of them to ride better

I second that, I had no idea the whole time what shock they were testing… these guys might be awesome for sure but this shock competition is a huge fail for me, the king are clearly junk for leaking on just one test run, and the material is going to rust if you live in the rust belt..

And the what pound coils each shock is has on them.

We did all the testing, then all the interviews in the shop, and then revealed all the shocks after. The magic of editing

Would be nice to see the fox performance elite series

They needed a level playing field, and not all the shocks offer a high and low speed adjuster setup.

Remote resi would mostly affect how long you can run without overheating the shocks

@@sleeks9939 they did test 8112s in video 4. 8112 front, 8100 rear. The 8100 in the video is the “smooth body” version. The bypass version isn’t mentioned, but performs even better.
