Ormonde isn't attacking, he's defending his personal space. If people would stand back away from him, which everyone should do with all of these horses, then there wouldn't be a hitch! People feel the need to push it with Ormonde, forgetting that he'll push right back, and bite them to boot! He's a masterful horse!
He's being perfectly nice to those who don't get real close and stand still for their photo. When the tourons run up, wave their hands and get in his personal space, he lets them know to move away.
When I was that age, oddly my family put me atop a Horse for a cute photo. You would think it to be dangerous. Only for the Horse, as they said I peed all over him!☺👶

Brits should be proud they have this horse 😅. Im Italian but have quite a few English friends that work with and ride horses, some of the horses they worked with and rode have been retired from the horse guards. People seem to forget these guards and horses are literal soldiers and war horses. I will always respect your countries people, traditions and of course, horses. 🇮🇹🏴

They are literally as you said 'war horses' trained to react quickly to any "perceived threat"... it should be on the spot fines for those grabbing at the bit, reins, tackle etc. Maybe a monetary bill would hurt more than the bite!? Same as both of you. I couldn’t believe the father would even think of having a pic taken with a baby so very young, when he knew the attitude of the horse. Even before I read your comments I thought, one day, sadly, someone is going to be seriously injured and I won’t be blaming the horse or the guard. It’s just getting worse. Horses are fed up being touched and patted continuously and guards must be fed up being ridiculed and laughed at.

They are well trained war horses, it's the tourists who need to step out of the horses spaces and leave them alone. They are trained to be calm amongst rioting protestors and guns going off, they are fine as long as idiots leave them alone. Most of the horses tolerate it, but Ormonde hates bring touched and knows how to send them packing 😂
Nobody likes to be bugged when they're trying to sleep. The guard's saddle is leaning way to the left side of the horse. His shift is probably almost over. I'd be grumpy to. I love this horse.
I love that when the gentleman in the blue coat kept getting closer despite Ormonde’s warnings, he horse just stepped to the side and turned away. “Take a picture now, fool!”
Read the sign, “Horses may kick or bite.”, as the gent points out @ 5:48. Watch what happens of those ahead of you are doing when they get bitten. Don’t do things that will het you bitten. It is not Ormonde’s fault when you get bitten.
I think some are deliberately getting too close , they can surely see Ormonde's reaction to other tourists , yet they still stand right next to him ...
It looks like the horse is pushing people because he doesn't want them close. I would worry about the horse trying to bite them if they are not careful. The Guard is a highly trained soldier and the Guard horse is a working horse not a farm petting horse.
This is a rather sad video to me as Ormonde seems to be very subdued today. He keeps his head low for much of the time and that is not his normal demeanor. I hope he is not ill. 🥺
Ormonde was probably tired…the horses have had to do a lot of work for the past three weeks for Trooping the Colour and probably other ceremonial duties. The tourists won’t let him have a quick nap to regain his energy!

All you have to watch is the horses ears. When they are pinned back, they a not having anyone touch or be near them That is a sign of aggression or disdain...Now if I was to go up to Ormonde with my riding clothes and the slight smell of the mare I ride, he would probably be okay with me. People drive me crazy when they approach a horse quickly..They are prey animals and don't like that a bit! Ormonde has a bit of an attitude problem though....people forget this animal is about 1000 lbs and literally could grab you by the shoulder and sling you a couple feet...

Ormonde looks tired. Closes eyes and trying to have a nap. But people do not understand this. They do not give a minute rest... So Ormonde only have them understand, not to force themselves on him... It's they only way they understand, they bother him too much...
