No corny speech about hearts, or friendship. Just the three of them trying trying to keep their emotions together, but quickly break down in tears and embrace each other. It’s a pretty human moment imo.
@@saxenart I agree, I grew up laying Kingdom Hearts and it taught me the power of friendship is not a "kids thing" it's real and it brings me inner strength and sanity when things are difficult. I know people grow to become cyincal but I believe if you're lucky and find those True Companions out there the idea that stuff like telling your friends you care about them and love them is "corny" will never be an issue because you all value each other.
This is the realest moment in KH, like with that "Corny" line in 358, this just takes that and goes, see it ment something, these three the whole of 358, is just sad and depressing, and makes you hurt since they are nobodies, the have no emotion no life no really anything, but seeing them here shows they do have hearts, they can feel emotion, and they never were nobodies.
Exactly. You shouldn't need the characters to endlessly talk and talk about how good friends they are or how much they miss each other. At least not all the time. Don't bore the audience with speeches they've already heard and understand. These emotions and sentiments should be self-evident through their nonverbal communication. "Show, don't tell".
After years of debate I’ve decided: these guys suffered the most. They have the most realistic friendship, the lies and the heartbreak they caused each other... one allowed himself to vanish inside somebody he’d never met, knowing he may never exist again, another faded from existence, completely forgotten, whilst the other had to continue on, alone and broken knowing that his friends may never return... The way they acted in this scene... like it all happened yesterday, like nothing has changed... and the way Axel said, ‘alright... so what now’ almost like he was fully expecting an earful, but words were lost in the moment because all they cared about was being there together.... and don’t even get me started on that hug... 🤧💔 my life is complete, they deserved this reunion so much
I'm not sure about this statement: 'these guys suffered the most' xD In my opinion Aqua, Ventus and Terra suffered the most without any doubt. Aqua was trapped in Darkness Realm for over 10+ years! Terra was possessed by Xehanort and Ventus was sleeping for such loooong time. They lost their master and everything else, even their homeland. But I do love Axel, Xion and Roxas xD I cried at this scene, it was so beautiful t-t But I think it was the best moment of the game too ^^ I prefer this trio over Aqua, Terra and Ventus.

Axel trying to make a joke so he won't cry... and then being overwhelmed... It was so sweet, I am glad he could finally reunite with his friends... 😢😏💕
Axel a nobody that was friends with people that he used to know. Roxas a nobody that sacrificed himself so another can be whole. Xion a memory that disappeared and was forgotten so someone else can be remembered. There reunion was one of the most heartfelt moments in KH history.
I was sobbing so hard. From being informed that his two best friends can’t exist, the loss from the realization, to finding out that there was hope, and they were able to become themselves. I’m glad Axel does not need to hold back anymore tears. I’m glad Xion will always be remembered. I’m glad Roxas can finally be himself. I’m just so glad to see everyone together again- their previous lives were entirely not fair to anybody.... Oh look, more tears.
358/2 days was the game that introduced me to this franchise as a kid. When I beat the game I felt both sadness and hope. Sadness because of what happened to the three of them and how the game tore them apart. But I also felt some hope that one day they would reunite. When I saw this cutscene play out, i literally cried for the first time when playing a video game. These three were the original trio for me, and seeing them reunite was perhaps my favorite moment in the game.
I played the hell out of Days back in my Sophomore year of school. God that was over ten years ago. It's probably my favorite story in the franchise next to Birth By Sleep, simply because of how tragic the ends are and how, especially in the case of Days, you really get to see the strength of their bonds. After the events of that game this scene is just pure cathartic.
I couldn't play the game since it was only available on the PSP, but I was able to watch a cut scene, cinematic version for the PS3, so I got the story. Not the same I know, but it was ok.
I think what hits me a lot about the hug at then end of the scene, is it doesn't even really come across like they're hugging because they're happy to see each other. It comes across like they're desperately clinging to each other because they're afraid that if they let go something will happen to force the three of them apart again.
Think about it One of them sacrificed himself to awaken a complete stranger One of them sacrificed himself to save that same boy, and his friend. The last one was wiped from existence, not just dead, but forgotten. They probably thought they’d never be themselves again, or that they’d see each other again. Now they’re alive and whole again, and they’re together, and they... they... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
This scene healed a wound that kept open since I cleared 358/2 Days. They deserved to be together, for all of the shit they had to go through. Thank you.
I think what made this so special is that we had to wait for this reunion just as they did. We were able to experience it with them, and feel it with them too.
Gonna be honest here Aqua, Ven, and Terra's reunion was like "yay you guys are back together" but Roxas, Xion, and Axel's reunion I had to hold back tears to see the whole scene
Shounne Altlece not my first but my most played, thats exactly why this reunion was so emotional for me, i cried so hard when xion died in 358, as a kid, the fact that I killed her made it even more sad, i grew to love that trio more than sora riku and kairi lowkey, but finally seeing the three of them together after so long and they not even being able to hold it together, as soon as xion started crying i lost it lol
SAME! Roxas is my favorite character in the whole series, and I definitely ship him with Xion way more than Namine. Even though I never finished the game on my DS, it’s still my favorite.
I'm a 35 year old man with a family and kids and a stable career and find myself holding back tears seeing these characters finally reunite. Love it. 😀

Man, the knowledge that Roxas and Xion were originally intended not to return by Nomura like this makes this very impactful. Think about it, Axel would just be sitting alone at the end.

I still look back on this scene from time to time hands down the most heartwarming story in the series and the most believable friendship as well my favorite characters for sure and xions theme is by far my favorite theme in the entire series
The twilight trio are my favorite characters, and after seeing Xion cry, I started weeping. Axel made a pun with tears in his eyes after realizing that his two best friends are alive. When they all broke down, my tears streaked my cheeks, smiling. Seeing my favorite characters come back to life, and reunite. Their backstories played in my head, knowing that one has a meaningful past, another sad past, and one with whole nother world in his. You know who I'm talking about. Axel, Xion, Roxas. They all sacrificed their lives for Sora. Now that they reunite, my heart... my heart exploded 😢
The twilight gang weren't the only ones who suffered, when i watched saix (Isa) explain his actions in person, he was the one suffered just as much as axel and the gang so im glad he came back as a friend. Keyblade weilder Isa anyone?
hope isa/siax, even, ienzo, hayner, pence, & olette become keyblade weilders. it would be nice if marluxia, larxene, demyx, & luxord could regain both their keyblades & original identities/memmories of the past while yozora regains his true self. wish the nameless star could reclaim her name, memmories, & body.
As someone whose first game was Days (don't judge me, I didn't own a PS2)....man. This scene was so cathartic, finally getting to see the Trio reunited after so long. Just breaking down in tears and hugging. I didn't cry myself, but it hit me in the feels super hard.
It was my first, too. First time I saw the original commercial and heard Sanctuary, I knew I had to get it for my DS, no matter the lack of context. Certainly made a bigger impact when I learned about Roxas’ connection to Sora. Really wish I had cleared it back then, too.
i was 10 years old when i finished 358/2 Days. It tore a jagged wound across my soul that didn't heal until this very moment. I carried these characters and their game with me in the back of mind for nine years and it was this scene that allowed me to let them go, just for a little bit, because they had each other again. they've been through it. they deserve their happy ending.
I fucking love kingdom hearts. The journey, all those games, all these reunions. Honestly haven't cried in many years until now. Finally finding closure after so many years. These scene just had me on the ground. Just speechless. :')
I played 358/2 when I was 13 and played KH3 now at the age of 25. I cried then, and I broke down now. This part had me in tears whilst battling, I just couldn't believe this was happening. It gave me the closure I had been needing since I finished 358/2. I wanted to hug all of them so bad.
My first game of KH was 358/2 Days, and for years, how their relationship ended left a Mark in my heart. When i saw this scene the first time, i couldn´t stop to break in tears. my boys and girl had finally met each other again, and the final line of Axel couldn't be more perfect for the moment.
Im glad to see that at least someone else noticed this. Saix/Isa seems to have been through quite a lot, he was "close" to Xemnas in 358/2 in a way that gave me the chills. Who knows whar Xemnas did to him. And there he was, putting up with Xemnas while also trying to locate his missing friend, and seeing the only other person he had, Axel, getting more and more distant from him and their lost friend to befriend two other strangers that were doomed to disappear. Of course I hoped Axel would be reunited with the ice cream trio but I was really hoping more that he and Saix could finally be friends again. When he vanished I almost turned the game down. In the end, when we see he did come back, I was beyond happy.
It's great seeing Lea reunite with his best friends again Xion and Roxas isn't it he has really miss and felt sorry for accidently abandoning them but when he hugs them as their big brother figure it shows how much tears of sadness and joy, he's a great hero character Lea is right we need to get it marmorize right guys!
It's almost a weird feeling, to be honest. Like this constant emotional pain I've been living with for 10 years has suddenly been lifted. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be happier, but I'm also not entirely sure I've full processed it.
Okay I love this scene. Like I just want to hug each of them. Especially Axel and Xion. Roxas got a bit of life to live even though it was a simulation but Xion was technically nothing and then made to have feelings. When she started crying I felt so bad cause she wanted to live she wanted to be with them and that was taken away. Axel lost both of them and had to suffer through it knowing they might never come back. He is so nice to them and did everything he could to protect them. I only wish the Axel got down on his knees so they could hug him a bit better but im so happy that they have each other now
Yesterday I was watching the 358/2 Days cinematics from 1.5 and I have to say I finally feel something meaningful for this trio of friends. I've always liked Axel as character, I didn't care for Roxas before, and I can't say much about Xion since I've never played Days and I didn't know much about her. But after watching those cinematics, getting to know their story, how they formed a real friendship, etc. I can see why this trio is so loved. Or at least why it should be so loved. I am really happy for them, specially Xion who started as an empty puppet from the Replica Project.
The fact Axel chose Roxas and Xion over Isa got me crying so hard😭😭💔 I've been waiting for my seasalt trio for years! My babies are together again. And happy❤
358/2 Days was the first Kingdom Hearts game I ever bought and played to completion. I touched on Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 a bit, but it was from friends and I didn't get to play it all the way. So when I played this, I got so attached to Roxas, Axel, and especially Xion. It broke my heart how the story ultimately resulted not only Xion and then Roxas leaving one another, but then Xion having to let Roxas kill her to help Sora regain himself, even if it meant that she would not only be destroyed, but be erased from everyone's memory. And then the end of the game, I saw how the last scene had Xion being erased from Roxas's mind, and I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest. So I kept hoping that in a future installment, there would be some way, any way, for Xion to come back. And after multiple hinting, it finally happened. Roxas, Axel, and... Xion. They're back... they're finally back. When I saw that scene, I broke. I started crying and I couldn't help it. It makes sense why Xion would be the one to break down first and cry, because she was the one that felt like her existence would be gone forever, and she was nothing. A true Nobody. But she's here. She's back. She's alive. She exists. And that's what made this reunion so beautiful for me. ... I'm gonna go cry again.
If Lingering Will confronting Terranort was the most cathartic badassness moment. This one was the most emotionally cathartic. I fell in love with their story and even if all the contrivances had to be pulled out to make this happen, I don't even care. That embrace at the end makes it all worth it.
Jesus... I'm so fucking emotional right now... I just completed this game and I have to say I'm so glad I never spoiled myself because this is by far the most heartwarming scene in the game I'd say... just seeing Axel burst into tears upon trying to hold them back is so emotional and real... like anyone of these guys could've potentially faded from existence and never seen the others ever again... and here they are all reunited after so much hardship unique to each individual... Roxas giving himself up, Axel living on with nobody, and Xion being forgotten... now here they are... I would comment about Isa but honestly, I feel like his was a good type of emotional... like you knew it'd be okay...
I remember when I first saw this scene I didn’t really care that much because I didn’t know who axel, xion and roxas were until I saw 285/2 days manga. Now this is so emotional to me
They are friends with hearts and guide themselves to light and light always help people..Especially when friends are hurt and very they had so much them together like they never fall apart 💔 And love is greatly appreciated 💗 ❤ and friends and family always stick together...
Out of all of the beautiful or sad moments in video games that would make people cry this was the first to get my tears running out this was so beautiful
358/2 Days was the first KH game I ever owned. I had played 1 and 2 on my cousin's console but had never beaten them, and I consumed most of it through youtube ("real" kh fans arent used to seeing their faves in high def, if it aint in 144p it aint the real experience lol). But Days was so important, it was the first and possibly only KH game (up until recently) that I played to completion, and it absolutely devastated 10-year-old me. I'm not exaggerating when I say I was mourning Xion right up until KH3 came out! To see the three of them finally get the happy ending they deserved was so... it was like a full-circle moment, if that makes sense. It was the most wonderful kind of closure :)
No comments about Saix/Isa? I found the prospect of his relationship with Lea being resolved much more intriguing than the reunion with Xion and Roxas.
You know that's actually true, I feel their story was more interesting. It had something more to it then to just Reunite with one another, it showed both of their softer and vulnerable sides. But it was overshadowed by one of the scenes I've always wanted to happen for so long. I'm happy that there's someone who pointed out Saix's part. Thank you. 😃

It's so beautiful. These three have been apart for a long time and now they are finally reunited. One of the many things I love about kingdom hearts 3. Nearly everyone, even the Organization members (not all of them) get a happy ending and are reunited. It makes me cry.
I like how realistic their reunion feels compared to the rest of this series. The one time they'd be justified if talking about "friendship" and "hearts" they actually don't because they're too busy trying (and failing) to hold back tears. It's beautiful.
I could try for years to write dialogue that would do their much needed reunion justice, but I couldn’t truly do it. Who could? So they didn’t. Just a simple quip about ice cream and a cathartic cry in each other’s arms. Perfection.
This scene simply breaks me every time. I remember how sad i was when i first played 358 days and how i couldnt stop the tears from falling during my first playthrough on this game. And even now.
Desde que jugue al Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days estaba esperando por esto, sigo diciendo que Roxas me parece mejor personaje que Sora, todo lo que ha vivido y sufrió es algo doloroso, tambien para Axel y Xion, agradezco que por obra del guion ya Roxas y Xion ya no esten enlazados a Sora y puedan vivir su propia vida lejos de ordenes, que disfruten su amistad, ademas de axel, que ya no tenia a nadie con quien contar y soportar el hecho de que perdio dos de sus grandes amistades. Me ha dado muy en el corazon ver como Axel se pone a llorar.
