It is a really neat detail if you think about it! Due to what Fate had thrown at Roxas, it makes sense that Roxas has a much more serious and mature voice. I find it fitting for him considering it is what makes Roxas much more independent and individual-like than Sora. Ventus on the other hand is much more like Sora, but much more naive and sweet.
That was probably my favorite detail when it came to them. Even w your eyes closed you could tell difference between Roxas and Ven during the group fight in Re:Mind as they gave each other props. That is skill
Jesse McCartney is a fantastic artist in general. I wouldn't exactly call myself a fan of his music but he isn't bad and he's seriously talented in whatever he does. Big ups to him.
@@thegamecritic5305 Ventus is a survivor of the original Keyblade war,was controlled by darkness, murdered Strelitzia and was a friend of Ephemer, the white haired guy that shows up to help Sora. He's been through a lot too. Ventus may have lost those memories but he still lived through it all so it's kinda funny that he's as childish in a way as he is. I wonder if Ventus will ever remember what happened to him.
@@LilyGrace95 Oh, It wasn't my intention to sound rude sorry! I meant the line "Xion!" IS said by Roxas's voice. In japanese it's more obvious than in english.
I literally had tears the first time I played this! Roxas is my favorite character and was so happy he was able to come back with his deeply tragic story.
@Hooty HOOT HOOT nobodies have souls as that’s their free will and personality, it’s the hearts they’re missing. And even then they can develop their own, case in point being Roxas
@Hooty HOOT HOOT nah, heart and soul are separate things. Hence Xemnas saying “it’s their hearts we need not their souls” when he was about to kill Axel but Xion stopped him. Confusing I know lmao
After 3 days of non stop drinking and getting cold, i had similar voice like this the next day. Strangely i attracted many women, just speaking random shit. Too shame it was gone tomorrow.
I love how Oathkeeper and Oblivion are Roxas' official keyblades, both fit him so well and what he represents being both apart of Ventus and Sora while being his own person, keeping their way of making friendships and connections with others despite any type of darkness, and even representing how each of them were put in some kind of unconscious state while everything changed around them and despite that they still kept their light
Two things I have realized about this scene: One, when Xion was fighting Sora and he says her name, it isn't his voice- it's Roxas's! If you listen really closely you can hear it! Two, I understand why Xemnas took Kairi. Xion hadn't been defeated the proper way, you know, where she would have fallen to the ground and a pillar of darkness would have erupted around her? She had switched to the other side, so Xemnas took Kairi because she was one of the seven lights. One of the other members of O13 said they were looking for the new seven lights for a back-up plan in case the main plan failed. They used 1/7th of the backup plan so that the X-blade could still be forged.
True but Sora was the one who reminded Roxas or who Xion was (remember when she died all memory of her existence was wiped from the organization members' minds) and Xion returned to Sora upon death, meaning which is how Sora also knew about Roxas in KH2.
This was the most cathartic moment of the game for me. 358/2 Days was a mess to play, but hands down had my favorite story. Watching this trio return and embrace each other, and Xion being remembered as well as Roxas returning. God I broke down
358 was my first kingdom hearts game that I fully played when I was a kid, maybe 10? When xion disappeared in that game, I felt all the same emotions as Roxas. Why is this happening? where is my friend going? make this stop. then I played the other games and found out why, and for about 13 more years I waited for 3 to come out and I said to myself "I dont care what this game is, I just want Xion back." Needless to say, seeing her here, I was in the fetal position for several minutes, play-station paused, I felt like that kid once again. Shame a majority of the rest of the game was terrible. lol.
It was a mess but still felt so good to play!!! I honeslty wish they made the game for ps2 or psp instead cause the graphics at times were meh to watch. But deff such a good game and added so much more depth to a fan favorite, Roxas!!
They did everybody dirty so they could over utilize Sora. Riku and Mickey are kinda useless and can't beat anybody on their own, Kairi trained extensively to be a Distressed damsel, Lea forgot how to fight and lost all his power, and Aqua, Ventus, and Lingering Will Terra had their narrative agency shit all over and given to Sora. For fuck's sake, Donald and Goofy had a better showing as Guardians of Light than the actual keyblade wielders. And don't even get me started on what they did to Master Xehanort.
@@duddude321 Actually everyone was underpowered, expect for Roxas. That fight ... he's not assisting you, YOU're assisting him. You can literraly win by waiting for him to deplete through everyone's health bar
@@duddude3212 years later and I'm still trying to figure out how exactly aqua became weaker when she was forced to fight to survive for endless years. In KH BBS she even defeated Xehanort, here she can't even take on Vanitas. And let's not talk about Ventus, most wasted character overall. I feel like the main problem of kh3 is that they thought bringing back every character was a good idea, but if I'm being honest the only three I would have understood are Aqua and Ventus, maybe terra as well. Because they're the ones who are supposed to beat xehanort. Bringing back the nobodies was a mistake, didn't sora need Roxas to be whole again?
Gotta love when Axel breaks the 4th wall to voice our opinions. Especially when he, a Kingdom Hearts CHARACTER, takes a step back and goes "What the fuck is our storyline? Who are most of these people!?" XD
I AGREE! SORA'S CHARACTER PALES IN COMPARISON TO ROXAS'S, AXEL HAS MORE CHARACTER THAN RIKU, AND XION IS LIKE KAIRI WITH A CHARACTER ARC. I still love the original trio. Except Kairi. She shows little personality.
Axel almost dies, Xion protects. Xion almost dies, Roxas breaks every rule in the book to return. So, who does Roxas really care about? Either way, Xion protecting Axel and Roxas deciding to return to protect everyone, is so cute!!!
@@yeyeye802 Sure Roxas can come out from Sora anytime after Sora reunite with both Lea and Xion, but without a vessel, a replica, he'll just become a helpless just-a-heart ... So he need to wait for the replica to arrive at the scene ... He's able to leave Sora at 4:06, attach himself into a replica nearby, and come back to the scene at 4:08 ... Actually, he's outstandingly fast there ... Also guess who's responsible to deliver the replica into the scene ... Demyx ... I bet he was slaking around so the replica arrived (almost) late ... Or maybe he actually arrive sooner, but he was like "let's wait for the best timing, aaaaand, now! *throw the replica near enough for Roxas to notice* nice catch Roxas!" ...
Speaking of which, can we talk about that? Roxas is 100% the fastest character in the series, the guy left Sora's heart, travelled all the way across the freaking universe to Radiant Garden, grabs the Replica body, and then travels all the way back to the Keyblade Graveyard in a matter of seconds, with no Dark Corridor or Gummi Ship... that's some Sonic speed right there.
I think that was Nomura's plan. Because at the end of 358, Axel realizes he can't keep his friends, despite trying to keep everyone together. This is why KH2 is also impactful for Roxas and Axel. Roxas is stuck knowing he needs to go back to Sora, but also trying to remember who he is. Xion on the other hand knows her purpose is to go back to Sora so his memories of Kairi remains, but like the other nobodies, she too wants to be her own person. This scene was essentially them finally coming back together after being apart. Now that they all have vessels, they can be their own person and be free to live their lives...unless Nomura does something f up...which seeing how we "most likely" have a 4th game in the works...probably gonna happen.
I think it may be because of the final mission in 358/2 Days letting you use Oblivion and Oathkeeper. The last fight against Axel and the fights between Sora and Roxas also have him with Oathkeeper and Oblivion. It typically that or Kingdom Key.
@@justindale7214 the lore is saying that xion gives her keyblade to roxas as she went and expire and the final fight where roxas pull his keyblade into two is when he remembered. It is said that roxas and xion are both incomplete sora's heartless and xion relinquishing her half complete roxas existence.
@@ggurwlcom420 However Roxas and Xion are now their own beings with their own hearts and since Xion is using her own Keyblade and Ventus is active on his own Roxas wielding two Keyblades should be 100% impossible for him to do as he has no other Keyblade wielder's heart within him to make use of a second blade.
Maybe, @@Drums_of_Liberation... think "Oathkeeper and Oblivion" has become a _single_ keyblade, at least in his case? It'd be an amusing callback to one of the _358/2 Days_ gear system's quirks.
3:30 that part when he kicks her and face revealed combined with the music that plays on that part is just so god dam perfect. It felt so deep and powerful.......
Damn ive been playing KH for 17 years now and when i see this scene it hit hard. Especially KH2 it took me two days to pick the game back up after Roxas gave himself up for Sora.
Fuuny thing, after this and Terra's rescue, I completely forgot about Kairi. Even at the end of the game, I was like 'Welp, that's everything. Time to go home.'
The weird thing is Roxas owes his return to Demyx and Even. Even had a spare replica created and he had Demyx deliver it to Ansem the Wise's laboratory.
Same. Much as I found about 3/4ths of KH3 wasted (most of the first part of the game can be summarized as "Riku and Mickey find Aqua, Sora breaks reality to be the hero that saves her, Aqua saves and revives Ven, and then everyone goes to the Keyblade Graveyard" - like nothing else of ACTUAL significance happens up until the Keyblade Graveyard, and then the first timeline's events there are basically everyone getting owned and, in a complete break from their normal character, all giving into fear except basically Riku) and a lot of the rest is a bit awkward and clunky (like how in the multi-enemy fights of the gauntlet, when you beat one they give their farewell scene, even though you're STILL fighting the other(s) in that arena)... ...despite all of that, this scene and Terra's - but especially this one - make me give the game a 8 out of 10 when I'd probably give it a 6 otherwise. They're that big of a deal to me.
When i played the game. Xemnas: What final words do you have for your superior? Me: Go to hell. Except he probably can’t say that in a Disney themed game.
NGL this is why i stuck with KH for all these years. This is why. My boy Roxas is back!! I remember playing this at like 2 in the morning freaking out "YO ITS FUCKING ROXASSSS!!!!!!" my dad came in like dude wtf is going on?!?! and im like go away ive waited yearsssss for this!!
Thanks for the upload ❤❤ 4:18-5:28 This was the part of KH3 I cared the most about *Roxas returns like a boss, armed with Oathkeeper and Oblivion* 4:19 "Hands off my friends!" 4:35 *cue Roxas theme music* 5:20-5:28 #burned "It seems you're not as good at winning over people's hearts as you think"
When I first saw the whole walkthrough, I was SO happy watching this scene, as well as watching Lea, Roxas and Xion hug each other. Watching Xion disappear and being forgotten broke my heart when I watched “Days”, so seeing the trio reunite with each other made me cry with happiness. Same with Ventus, Terra and Aqua.
Fun fact: Lea's keyblade is actually modelled after the keyblade that you acquire when you complete the world where you meet Terra and Aqua once again in BBS that's also where you meet Lea if you played as Ventus
I love how for each one of the days trio’s big moment you can hear a remix part of their boss theme Axel’s, has a more heroic version of the boss theme from chain of memories while it’s probably the furthest from the original and a argument can be made about it now being a remix of that them still it suits Axel, Xion as a softer and calmer version of Vector to the sky, and Roxas obviously has a dramatic version of The other promise and I love it so much
Kh1. Kairi can't fight gets captured and sora is thrown around the world trying to rescue her. Kh2. Kairi is safe on an island and runs away and gets captured and once again sora runs around the world looking her. Kh3. Kairi can finally do something and defend herself but doesn't know to swing above her head or behind her and gets captured but this time sora has to disappear completely to to rescue her. I'm not sure if it's incredibly romantic, completely toxic but I've decided she is square eunix's version of princess peach...
The only thing I think would improve this scene is like a series of quick flashbacks when Xemnas kicks Xion back and Axel finally remembers. A bunch of 358/2 clips flashing by right there would seal the deal a bit better, imo.
I was SO freaking hyped when I first saw this. The only Kingdom hearts game I ever played before three was the one where you played as Roxas. It was awesome seeing Axel, it was freaking great to see Xion (and It triggered some serious flashbacks) but seeing Ya boi the Zombie Roxas up in here was pure freaking Elation!
I just noticed that at 5:22, Roxas points at Xemnas with Oblivion, but the camera angle makes it look like he's pointing it at Isa right as he says, "and others, too" I don't know if the debate regarding whether or not Isa was a double agent working against the Organization in 3 is still going, but I guess that's one more big point of evidence that he IS.
I believe he was. He said that he would "collect" Vexen, next we know Vexen is telling Demyx that "the whole thing was HIS idea" and Demys is thunderstruck by the name he says. Then Vexen says "he" wants to help but is one of the chosen, and after Roxas pointing at him in this scene, I guess its clear that Isa wanted to help
Notice how Xemnas never mentions Vexen’s name when listing the people who helped Roxas. Vexen played his former boss like a damn fiddle and he never realized it.
this was arguably one of the easiest fights for me in the game, cuz when i finish a combo roxas would hop in, and repeat the same process over and over my only thoughts were: "poor isa"
People kept getting smacked in this game because they kept looking away from the enemy but no one is mentioning how roxas didn't make that mistake when acknowledging everyone while still keeping his eyes on the enemy
Roxas could have said: Roxas: It looks like XIII is your unlucky number Xemnas. Xemnas: Roxas! Roxas: Time to fulfill a promise. And there's no Riku to stop me this time.
Think about it xemnas has always been more afraid of Roxas than any other keyboard wielder. Soon as Roxas returns you'll see that he slightly backs up a little bit
