Ironic considering how Demyx is the only member to summon their nobodies to fight for them during battle. Hes smart to annoy and wittle down his enemies before having to deal with them himself.
I love how Demyx is seen as the useless organization member and a dumb kid but he's pretty smart. His fighting style keeps people away from him, he was the first member to question if they actually didn't have hearts, and somehow managed to steal the Olympus stone from the gods and goddesses! He's just extremely lazy and because of that no one would expect any of that from him. Why would they give him more work if he just wasn't going to do it or get it right?
As far as I know, Demyx says as much himself. In 358/2, he mentions how he purposefully screws jobs up or does half-jobs so that they won't send him out as often. If he actually gave 100% all the time, all it'd get him is more work; so instead, he slacks off. It's pretty great, honestly.
@@Gemini_Hero I personally think Xemnas sent Demyx on a suicide mission here. He knew that Demyx knew Xemnas was lying about the Nobodies not having hearts. Not only that he knew Sora was a traitor. I'm wondering if he knew too much.
@@Youseeinthisrn It does seem like Xemnas intentionally sent Demyx and Xaldin on suicide missions. Dilan comes back on the side of good so I hope that's explored in the Kairi game since Dilan, Ienzo, and Papa Ansem (If she's a princess born in Radiant Garden and he's the king of Radiant Garden... That's her father who's just too ashamed to admit it) are all there helping her. Because if Radiant Garden isn't her base a la KH2 then what is even the point? Lol. How epic is the Radiant Garden arc though? Gosh I hope someday they show us the opening to the ten year war from Young Squall and Baby Kairi's perspective.
His cry of agony always gets me. Just such a bone chilling farewell. Someone who really didn’t want to do what he did, but felt compelled to so as to fit in.
Fighting Demyx is a pain in the butt. But personally I like him as a character. Crazy how the most laid back member of the organization is the one who gives you the toughest fight.
What I like about Demyx is how he acts like such a wimp, but he's really no pushover. His fight is surprisingly challenging, especially if you don't know what you're doing. It took me quite a few tries to take him down.
This is arguably the "shit just got real" moment in KH2. Before this we were just fighting Heartless and Disney bosses but now we've finally come face-to-face with one of the main antagonists.
At this point it was Demyx trying to clap back at what Sora said to throw them off. When it didn't work that's when he dropped the facade and became emotionless.
@@Contrary22 in character yeah but quite annoying when he uses a special move when you about to finish the character and he takes him away and for some crap he ends up defeating you because of goofy
@@Damien_Bathory I've never had that happen myself, but I can see it's possible for Goofys moves to do that though. For me Donald just uses all his mp quickly either through healing when it's not needed or lighting something up with magic and STILL not killing it so he spends the next few minutes hitting it with a stick... Goofy's massive item slots > Donald's love of trying to take up fencing when he's out of mp. My opinion, not arguing. Haha.
@@Contrary22 yeah that happens to me with donald what i do to counter attack that is that before a boss fight i buy alot of potions and give them to both donald and goofy just in case they need to heal me or them and so donald does not consume his mp super fast with goofy works 75% of the time
Honestly the trauma of this battle still stays with you. Even if I hear dance and water in the same sentence I’m like DANCE WATER DANCE. You can’t explain this trauma to someone who hasn’t played this. What’s worse is that after i played this game I came back and was able to defeat him in much less time
Maybe that's why they sent him against Sora. Demyx knew Xemnas was lying about members of the Organization not having hearts. To make sure he didn't say too much to the others, Xemnas sent Demyx on a suicide mission knowing he wouldn't survive.
I'm pretty sure Demyx has more info than any organization member is aware of. Listen to his phrases. We do have hearts. Silence, traitor. When they say he probably can't fight, he is shocked but is it because they are right or because it's a big insult? Gets destroyed: oooh.. Through it again. Not to mention how underleveled most of us were when facing him first time. If trying to fight him we lost 10 times and won the 11th that's in a way actually under 10% chance that Demyx's mission was a suicide one. Think about it. Alternate timeline theories and such. Of course when playing a game starring Sora, we play the timeline that goes perfect for Sora, he destroys the members and then the leader. But life has no retry button. Often when I play a game I think how it would affect the story from the point I run into a game over.
Miranda Goertz judge where he's going to land when he jumps at you with water pillars. Use reflect near him, that spell is super OP. and if you have a problem with the minigame... You just have to go fast, that's all I got.
Use Goofy's limit Knocksmash. It takes care of most of the work as its good about doing lots of damage, making you immune to hits, and keeping you away from him.
Demyx kicked my ass on my first playthrough as a kid. It took quite some time for me to finally beat him. Hearing "Dance water, dance!" gets my hackles up to this day.
@@findingtruthtogether3091 Xemnas explains in DDD. They are formed after their hearts are separated from them. They eventually begin to grow hearts after a set amount of time.
Fun fact: the voice actor of Demyx is the same one who voiced Randall Weems in Recess. No wonder their voices sound oddly familiar! Once a weasel, always a weasel!
I heard in Kingdom Hearts 4 there is going to be a recess world where you team up with TJ Detwiller and Gus Griswald(El Diablo). The enemies are the kindergarten kids, Lawson and his crew, and the boss at the end of this level is Miss Finster with Principal Prickly tossing Dodgeballs hence Gus in his El Diablo form and the whole world ends with them giving each other high fives and eating ice cream and pizza.
I think Square extended the time limit due to complaints over the original only being 10 seconds. It's also possible that choosing the game difficulty determines how much time you get to defeat the water forms.
Demyx : Dance Water ! Dance ! Luxord : The first to run out of time is the loser. Xemnas : Anger and Hate...are supreme Larxene : Uhhm..uhhhm...uhhuuhmm... Sepiroth : Show me your strength !
Damn Demyx in critical gave me quite some trouble until I learned his movements. Especially since you can easily die in the fights after this one before you get a save point and that means having to do this boss again.
I remember thinking this was going to be another water forms fight. Then he suddenly gets serious and "13th dilemma" plays. Next thing that happens was me losing almost a dozen times. 😬 Best part of the story? Xaldin was worse 😇
It's definitely shocking how tough Demyx and Xaldin are when you consider that Demyx is meant to be considered a wimp among the organization and Xaldin gets beaten by Belle just before fighting you.
I thought Xaldin was light years ahead of Demyx in terms of difficulty...I think he is the member that gave me the hardest time. I really loved this game so much, still one of my favorites of all time. It's right around the time I stopped really playing video games, with the Wii being my last 'major' system to buy, but that's cause I was halfway through college and lived with my buddies. So it made for the perfect system to have for drinking and having on during parties. All of our friends that were girls loved playing too, so it was perfect haha...
Demyx may have been known in the organization as the lazy slacker who doesn't really do anything, but when he does, (whistles) he sure makes one hell of a formidable foe.
I remember seeing my brother being so annoyed that when he is very close of getting defeated again he scream and transform into the heartless form and instantly won
It’s weird how they still haven’t explained who he is. He might be pretty important, he probably isn’t the masters but them having similar mannerisms could mean something.
I've stuck in this level and I'm so frustrated because knowing that there's a few combo skills that I didn't knew and didn't use for the past 10 years 🤷♂️😭
I remember back in the day this boss made me rage quit. But now on my most recent play through I beat him no problem with a combination of over leveling, Donald’s Limit and going Wisdom Form to utilize the *KILL IT WITH FIRE* approach.
Word of advice on critical: remember to turn autolimits off before fighting Demyx. I never died from it when i was younger, but in my recent critical run my deaths happened during the timed portions of these battles because i kept activating Donald's limit while trying to do the reaction commands. Its better to activate the team limit once Demyx is finished his music attack and then get a few melle hits in and avoid attacking him close up. Its good to have knockback equiped too, so you can knock him into the air during a combo and juggle him. Just don't over do it or his water attacks will get you.
Demyx gave me legit problems as a kid. It was usually that I couldn't defeat all the water clones in time. If I recall, not getting them all before the time is up is an automatic loss. But as seen in this video, it's also extremely difficult to close the gap on him before he bolts over to the other side while hitting you to boot.
Me: Fanboying and being gay for Demyx Sora: * beats Demyx * Demyx: "Aw...fooled again...." (3:38) Me: *crying and cusing up a storm cause Demyx disappears*
@DVJFan Damn son, you learned the algorithm to how an AI works in a video game. Now go play against actual players in another game and get your ass beat
pecobro 64 Honestly, I gave up after three tries, got doge roll and quick run, then re-challenged him. That was a much smoother battle. Xaldin? Lol that's a fight I don't want to talk about.
I remember playing KH2 as a kid for the first time and I could never get past this guy to the point that I rage quit and didn’t play again for a long ass time (to which point the first time I replayed I beat him first try 😂😂)
For a nobody, Demyx shows quite a bit of emotion... ALSO HOW COULD YOU SORA!!! Demyx was just a sweetie pie!! If only he could've just knocked him out or sumin ;~; Also if my theory is correct (well borrowed from other people xD) then Demyx was being sent to his death! He was doomed from the start ._.
You know, instead of automatically losing the battle because of the time limit even if you're at full health, how about doing an attack that reduces your health to one? Seems a lot less cheap.
I legit stopped playing this game for a few months as a kid because of Demyx. Finally beating him is one of the best moments I’ve probably ever had in gaming.
