I did NOT expect a voice as deep as a shadowy canyon with a mix of softness and roughness like there are grass and flowers growing between the boulders and cracks.
You're a lucky man. When we first got this game, the Roxas fight was not a thing, just the cutscenes. And when it DID become a thing, it stayed in Japan only for almost a decade.
@@Mnemoniforma9.00 yea I’ve heard about that before and looked up the video and it is pretty crazy how that fight took so long to actually become playable
@@whoskoji If you were an Organization member, what would your preferred weapon and powers be? (can be something entirely different from the main org.) For some reason, I imagine you with a rather nicely colored coffin or sarcophagus (perhaps something with purples, blues and silver) that you can use as a bludgeon/battering ram, a shield, surf on, use to trap opponents in and/or send magical blasts out of.
This game is truly special. If the series ended at 2, then I would've been disappointed but also satisfied. Glad you enjoyed your first playthrough, ik i wish i can do a first playthrough again.
2:36 Roxas’s fight… It’s very subtle, but Roxas tries to make you flinch by dashing in, and flexing in front of you before starting his ground combo. For this, people suggest quick run. This can be gained and leveled with wisdom. Using fire magic on weak heartless mobs, in wisdom should do it. If you’re aren’t doing it as you play, there’s a cluster in Mickey’s house in timeless river, by the time you get to Roxas. If you manage to quick run away, at his flinch fake out, he will attack blindly, hitting the air. Before hitting you directly on the finishing blow. In an X pattern. It is even effective mid battle with the light beams. They’ll stop tracking and just miss you as well, trying to corral you for the x strike, If perfectly timed, it’s not only block able, but Roxas will knock himself off balance and fumble, making him vulnerable. Now his desperation move, the floating orbs. You have to circle around the outer perimeter of the arena and run Along the outer edges Roxas’s revenge is a jumping slash, but midway in, randomly, it is swapped out with a keyblade attack where he closes in and spins his weapons at you, I dunno how to avoid that. It’s quick, so some of the damage can be mitigated with reflect.
KH2 is such a great game because you dont have to know the full (confusing) lore of the KH series. It perfectly shows you how the relationship dynamics work and tugs on your emotions for characters you dont necessarily know. That scene where Sora cries while leaving on the train.. SO GOOD!! boi i was cryin. Also the combat is so satisfying as you level up, being able to customize your combo builds and fight hella tough organization members feels like a real struggle, which is not something you expect from a Disney game. Im so glad you love it :'D goated game
This guy has a DEEP ass voice and is playing a Kingdom Hearts game. Anyone can be a Kingdom Hearts player and that's what I love about the KH community
I just started another playthrough of Kh2 after beating Kh1 again. You summed it up pretty well. Also if you haven't done the secret bosses... You should. There's 13 more battles like roxas's difficulty wise
Man I'm really glad you enjoyed it as much as you did, and that you're enjoying the series so far. Kingdom Hearts is probably the most special series to my heart. Did you ever die and get saved by a certain character and get to play as him? Greetings from Egypt!
Enjoy this time while you can having titles to play is a great feeling to have, kh3 is a mixed bag of marbles, some people love it some people don't. But genuinely take your time cause these games come out literally every 3-5 years it feels.
Black pal, deep aah voice, likes KH and likes Sonic. I gotta sub, broooooo Hope you enjoy BBS too - it's a bit weird how you have to do everything three times, but it's worth it. (also go back and try to fight the hidden kh2 boss >:3 )
Awesome, dude! It’s so great seeing someone new to this franchise being so passionate about it. Kh2 is one of my fav games ever too. Played it when I was a kid and it changed my brain chemistry for sure. Really great video I’ll keep an eye out for any new ones, I’m interested to see your opinions on the next games in the franchise! Take care Also, killer thumbnail *chef’s kiss*
Now all I ask for you to do is try it with mods next time it makes the experience a lot better 16 years later and eventually got a PC mod the crap out of that game I still do to this day for a soft spot forh2
i feel you i dont really use drive forms cuz they feel like a crutch really i treat any form in any game as a trump card only to be used during difficult battles or when im feeling like putting an enemy in their place despite that i far prefer this to anything similar the series has implemented infact it is my favorite form change system in any game because it punishes over use while still encouraging use and you always choose when to enter it without feeling like you let it waste away
I feel like I didn’t use drive forms as much because it was more of I didnt think of using them during fights because I was so locked in and didn’t have them in mind
4:15 yeah, also, the reason why we have 2 Ansems and have to differentiate with "The Wise" and "SoD" is answered in the final chapter of BBS, which comes right after 358/2 Days
@@whoskoji I would personally much more recommend watching Everglow's KH Timeline project for Days specifically, not only because, quite honestly, the game does suck, it isn't a type deal of "you have to get it", it is poorly made and plays terribly, but also because he MADE an effort into this, like, custom KH2 gameplay to cover some of the Days, that is effort and that has to be recognized, if anything, even if you do play the game, do check it please, more people need to
@@whoskoji I would definitely recommend checking Days' story through Everglow's KH Timeline project, exclusive Days, not only because, quite honestly, the game sucks, not the kind of suck that you need to get to enjoy, it just sucks, both gameplay wise and design wise, specially design wise, but also because his timeline project deserves attention, he puts so much effort into putting every bit of content chronologically, including secret reports, now, the reason why I say to check only days exclusively, and coming back later to check the rest of the timeline is bc he gave special attention to Days, like, he remade missions of Days using KH2FM, he mashes everything Days related to give the best experience possible for the entire story of Days, if you still prefer to play the game first, well, first things first, good luck, and second, please do check the timeline out later, it deserves all the attention it can get, Everglow is a pilar in this community and deserves all the recognition possible
I'm coming off an over-two-hours (quality) video essay on KH1 and this video got recommended to me today. Had to rewind a few times to decipher what exactly you said (you hear this a lot but your voice is d e e p) but regardless of that, it's sweet to watch a short video of someone not giving an outright review, but just sharing their first experience and enthousiasm with a game in a manner that's both hype and chill. KH2 seemed to hit *especially* well with you. Wish you a lot of fun on exploring the rest of the KH series. It's a lot to unpack in terms of story, as well as how positive or negative folks may be towards it based on their individual experiences or what they think of individual elements of a game. If i may ask, what kinda games usually have your interest?
Thanks for watching man! And yea sometimes it’s kinda hard to hear me and yea I really didn’t have a full video essay in mind for this video just something short and sweet about how I felt about the game. And I honestly I play literally anything I find interesting, I’m probably about to either start a playthrough series of resident evil 3, ocarina of time, madjoras mask, or upload another fallout video
@@whoskoji You're most welcome! Short and sweet is fine as it is, just someone wanting to share their enthousiasm for a game that very much impressed them for anyone willing to listen. That's just... nice. I see! Do you tend to look into lesser known games as well? I've had very sweet findings with the likes of Soulstice, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos and Cookie Cutter, and am currently looking forward to the likes of My Familiair, Genokids and Immortal: And the Death that Follows. To give an overview: - Soulstice: game like DMC, Darksiders. Got some undeniable rough points in pacing and a few of the enemy types, but is overall speedy, feels good and all seven total weapons have their own utility. Most enemies are solid, bosses are good, story and writing likewise. Has a theme of duality too which may interest you: There's special creatures born from humans who had a very strong bond in life which allows one of the souls to be tied to the soul & body of the other person. Sadly, strong bonds are not by necessity positive. And that's explored with the different bosses of the game. - Clash: Artifacts of Chaos: Beat-em-up adventure in a kind of prehistoric monster land where you can find different martial arts styles. Some call it a "soulslike" but i feel like it doesn't properly apply. It's a prequel to the Zeno Clash games. Awesome art direction, gnarly monster designs that look like they could fit in The Dark Crystal and simply solid combat where all fighting styles have their own unique animation movesets and utility. - Cookie Cutter: Hand-drawn 2D animated metroidvania with a combat emphasis. Looks *really* good and colorful. Gameplay's nothing special but for what it is, it is a nice time that I could gladly recommend. Big passion project of its dev who really wanted to make a thing all its own-- not here to reinvent the wheel in terms of gameplay, but something different in terms of world and artistic direction. A culmination of the media, from cartoons to games to music, that shaped him through the years. (there's more for it in the works, too! big update!) - My Familiair: Awesome cartoonish late 90s-looking pixel style RPG. - Genokids: likewise similar genre to Soulstice, but you play as an entire rockband fighting off an invading alien empire who crashed their concert. - Immortal: And the Death that Follows : 3D beat-em-up with 2D perspective. A friend described it as a Hindu Mad Max Beat-em-Up where you play as a banished demigod trying to escape a prison for cosmic wrongdoers. Hope these titles may sound interesting to you! There's more i could mention but otherwise this would be a much bigger wall of text :P
No prob. Wisdom leveled with heartless kills, limit leveled by completing the built in kh1 limit attacks on enemies. Oh! You said you were on bbs! It’s not like kH2. 🤔. Support abilities need to be made, basic movement abilities like glide need to be tracked down in chests, and the spectacle, aside from shot locks needs to be earned or crafted. You should be ok, but there’s usually a boss or. Iv with high damage, or multi fire, that frustrates some players.
Basically if you go into the status section in the menu and check the experience of each drive form, it tells you how to level them. Limit form is the only confusing one since if levels by landing the final hit of any of it's limits. And the infinity limit only gives exp if you hit the charge perfectly.
Go play it it in critical mode. It’s the only way you can really understand the depths of the battle system. Feel free to get in contact with me for info and tips about it, it may be a bit too hard for a newcomer
Interested to see what you're gonna think of 3, I see a lot of newcomers absolutely love it, but a lot of older fans hate it. I thought it was great though weaker than 2.
My prediction is I’m probably gonna feel in the middle. Neither hate it or love it but people been telling me gameplay wise it’s peak but story wise it’s pretty bad
@@whoskoji as a vet player KH I can honestly say that 3 has the best combat, if you take the time to learn it you can pretty much make up your own combo's with KB switching and transformations, the ability to turn ur offenses into defense quickly, and your defense to offenses, how you can link attacks to your shot lock and air step or just use the shot attack attached to what ever KB your using, and kh3 has the best data fights that push u to use all of these things I'm talking about, the way you can zip around the battle field from using airstep is just amazing, but before trying out 3 I would talk to someone who plays it so they can tell u how to set thing up for an enjoyable experience
@JonseyLetsPlays Kh3 has the best and most creative combat in the series, kh3 only had a few mistakes that held it from being a classic, it sad that it's few mistakes were big mistakes
Yeah the drive forms locking basic skills behind levelling them up might be the ONLY criticism I have about KH2. It takes so little effort, but the game doesn't tell you
Yea I can say that is the only thing that got me. Cus when I first played I was like why tf can’t I dodge roll and didn’t figure out I had to unlock it through my drive form until way later
@@whoskoji Just to make sure, do you just want a hint or do you want me to tell you how to get it? The hint is that you can get it anytime after defeating Roxas, and the form gets added to the drive menu after Sora enters said form for the first time. You don't acquire it in a cutscene like the others. I don't know how to be less vague than that without telling you outright...
@@whoskoji what the hell 😂 that’s insane, but 3 is a weird one when I first played it immediately after I liked it but after a week I thought about and I was like this game is horrible. Something to take into account is that remind was a $30 dlc. So taking that into account if you got 3 at launch the “good part” would make the game $90 total
3 aint terrible in critical and if you turn off the amusement park moves lmao. Combat wise it's solid if you do that. Story in some worlds is pretty eh, but the ending is crazy ASF and the DLC is top tier combat
Diz/Ansem the Wise was the master of the original person who became the nobody/heartless that are Ansem Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas. Bbs story will go more into it and then it's further explored in ddd, something to look forward to while going through the games. The whole story still confuses the everloving shit out of me. 3's gameplay was pretty neat, but the story is overall meh. All earlier entries in the series felt much more fleshed out compared to 3. A single story of bbs felt about as long as kh3, imo. And bbs has 3 storylines to play through!
@@whoskoji i just finished crit for my first time! I honestly think its easier then any other mode as long as you get good. You start with some wicked ability and 50 AP. You just die in like 2-3 hits on most mobs. Used items for the first time.
I just feel like they really polished everything about one and made everything better in my opinion and the story and ending was good to me. And also the gameplay was satisfying
are you using a voice filter or is your voice this deep? you sound like a 6'8 120 kg pure muscle batman on steroids and yes KH2 is the shit dude, best game in the series by far
@@shorddy1668that isn't true, a lot of people don't understand how to use kb transformations and kb switching properly. If u store ur Kb transformations and keyblade switch during ur combo's u pretty much can be as creative as u want, also u have so many way to switch back and forth between offense and defense it's not even funny. People who say that the combat is bad often don't have a full grasp of how it works. One of the best mechanics of any kh game, "which is air step", comes from kh3, I often see alot of people complain about the floatyness of the game compared to 1 and 2,"even though it's not even a valid agreement seeinh as though you can literally air dodge and block after finishers, air step, or if u have an attack type kb transformations u can press o or whatever it is on Xbox to immediately come down from the air from with an attack. Everything I just talked about is in the base game
@@shorddy1668 I understand that, but I think the reason kh3 has less base combo abilities is do to the fact that u can incorporate KB transformation, shot lock shot, air step, blocking, dodging into basic combos along with other situation command in ur basic combos
