Axel : what the heck is going on Xion : how should i know? We just met these guys Roxas: cmon guys, just pretend to be sad until its over then we'll get ice cream
Broke: Contriving to be consumed by darkness, have your bro’s student kill him so you can possess the student, split your heart into twelve vessels as a backup plan, then summon Kingdom Hearts to purge all darkness and reset the world all to one-up your bro. Woke: Letting your bro corrupt your student and plan to kill you after forgiving him once before, hiding inside your student’s heart and doing nothing for the 10 years he’s been possessed, then finally revealing yourself just to checkmate and forgive your bro.
I used to think that the least Eraqus could do for Terra was acknowledge him as a Master. But the more time has passed, the more I realized that his simple plea that Terra look after Aqua and Ventus means so much more. After all this time, after all they've been through, Eraqus finally _trusts_ Terra. That's a far more meaningful change than simply acknowledging Terra as a Keyblade Master.
@@ignacioperez5479 Yeah like he said Terra was right to defend Ven, Eraqus realized he had been lured into Xehanort's trap just like his students by trying to strike Ven down.
Keyblade Master title is like a primary school sticker lmao I mean, Sora is so much more powerful than all ennemies and allies together than Yen Sid felt unworthy to announce him he was a Master already.
The way I look at it, Eraqus already apologized for what he did to Terra in BbS. He never got the chance to apologize to Aqua and Ven. Also I love how he assigns Aqua to watch Terra because he doesnt trust him, but at the end of it all, he assigns Terra to watch Aqua and Ven, illustrating his trust in him.
What's really great about knowing that Mark Hamill voices Eraqus is the similarities in the battles of light vs dark between KH and Star Wars. That and also the keyblades being a special utilized weapon like the light saber. And of course Xemnas's breadstick lightsabers :D. I never get tired of seeing those.
Now imagine if they instead got Ian McDiarmid as a replacement for Master Xehanort lol. Just a funny thought, considering at one point Palpatine did use two red lightsabers.
@@GokaikillerTobi yes, this is what he could have been. But whether you liked The Last Jedi or not, let's be honest, this movie would have been boring if it had gone the exact way we expected, right ? Oh, and fun fact : the french version had a huge translation error. Basically, we spelled it like it were " The Last Jedis " ! What can I say... xD
I absolutely love Xehanort's ending. He practically succeeded as Kingdom Hearts was going to wipe everything out, but Eraqus showed him he underestimated the light and the world now is worth continuing. By bequeathing Sora the X-Blade he allowed him to seal Kingdom Hearts. We've already defeated Xehanort multiple times in different forms, I'm glad they did something different. He may not have been forgiven but he found peace
2 boys from a small island world through fate and circumstance confronted with the fate of the Galaxy and all worlds as we know it. Now that is a story
I'd say so. In my books, he became master by bringing eraqus heart to xehanort to make him give up aka "checkmate". Just like how sora got to be a keyblade wielder by touching the x-blade of all keyblades from xehanort.
8:38-8:50 Seeing as the X-Blade was transformed from the No Name Keyblade that Xehanort used, does that mean Sora now has the ability to wield that Keyblade, even after Xigbar retrieved it in the secret ending? Also, the way Xehanort says "very well done" to Sora makes me think that he is bestowing the boy as a Keyblade master.
Eraqus is such a good friend. After everything Xehanort did, to both him and everyone else, he's still willing to give the bastard a chance at redemption. Friends til the end, huh? Even if one of you goes evil and tries to remake everything? Must be nice to have such good friends. This game even gave Xehanort his happy ending, even if he doesn't deserve it. It's almost sad knowing about his and Eraqus' past and then also knowing what happened to them.
I'm still shocked Terra didn't make a keyhole out of xehanort. He got it the worst out of everyone. 12 years he possessed him. Doing some crazy shit wearing his face. Eraqus himself not much of a papa bear. Like how can you not want to rip this motha apart after torturing those you see as your own?
Eraqus also has some parts to blame. Odin and Eraqus put the hard part of executing Baldr on Xehanort. Eraqus is an a-hole himself with his blind view of light and darkness.
I was very surprised to discover it was Rutger Hauer. Hey may not have had the same gravelly (perhaps even COPD-induced) voice as the late Leonard Nimoy, but his performance was nothing short of excellent.
Eraqus: Ven, you went through a harrowing experience. Aqua, I left you with such a heavy burden. (Turns to Terra) Eraqus: Terra, look after them for me. Terra: *thoughts* Hey! I LITERALLY WENT THROUGH BEING XEHENORT’S VESSEL AND THAT’S IT?
Their hearts were together for all these years, so it's likely they already said their piece to each other long ago, no point in telling Terra again just for the others to hear, only that he trusts Terra to take care of Ventus, and Aqua once they were all finally reunited.
He didn’t transform into him, when he was “killed by terra” he just put his heart inside Terra’s keeping his subconscious hidden until this moment. Keyblade masters know this kinda shit way ahead of the game
If I saw that absolute monstrosity in my inventory I would smash my tv immediately for daring to show me such bullshit… ultima weapon is the ultimate keyblade; end of story
Funny thing is I can't argue with Xeanorth's end goal or motivation, its just the way he's going at it that's wrong really. There is no need for a complete fresh start.
I feel a rebalance wouldn't have been necessary either. Light is very numerous in worlds, but I feel is balanced by being physically weaker than darkness and vice versa. All that was needed was for ppl to not take lux or light and darkness for granted.
@@princeaidan6399 which xehanort could have done by educating others about light and guys like eraqus also educating others about darkness instead of their typical attributes.
Eraqus had been in Terra since BBS and Eraqus had revealed himself in front of Xehanort. I wonder why Xehanort did not remember that. Probably the amnesia thing maybe.
The parallels between Master Eraqus and Luke Skywalker, along with Mark Hamill's voice talent, made this scene that much more heart-breaking. It's like Square Enix knew how dissatisfied some fans were with the latest SW film's treatment of Luke, and it was as if the developers decided to make this cutscene as a more proper send-off to the character. Not gonna lie, my manly tears were streaming upon watching this.
9:20...I instantly cried when i saw this scene...only scene in the game that made me cry instantly....i've waited so many years to see them reunited with eraqus...and the fact that he apologized to aqua and ventus...omg then they all hugged...ahhh my emotions
@@Rettomus Ik, I was just being snarky and joking cause somebody made a theory video about terra being the guardian heartless and it got proven right, so I'm just kinda making fun of the missed opportunity Also hi nice to meet ya! XD
CosmicxAngel secretly they are the same person. But Xehanort could inform yugioh characters about the other worlds. So he changes his identity just to have fun in this world.
Looking back at this scene knowing that Xehanort is the reincarnation of the Player from X really puts things into perspective. His determination, his unwavering ideals, his ultimate desire to bring peace and order into the new world...they're all traits a Kingdom Hearts protagonist would have, but the way he acted upon those traits is where he went wrong. This is exactly what happens when you turn a conflicted hero into a conflicted villain.
YES!!! Amazing analysis! After the KHUX finale, I looked back on everything including Xehanort (particularly BBS), and some lines make a lot more sense. Xehanort inherited some of Player's connections, as well as their unwavering determination and ideals. The Player's final words had been "It's not over yet." while Xehanort's were accepting rest after so long. It's an interesting parallel, for sure.
After everything terra aqua and ven been through and the terrible things that eraqus has done all terra aqua and ven needed was a hug from their father eraqus and an apology
Xehanort tortured Ventus, abandoned him in the Destiny Islands, possessed Terra and turned him into a heartless, killed Kairi and then ascended to heaven with eraqus?
He wasn't really abandoning ven, he thought his time was up because vanitas took most of his heart so he placed him there so he could live his last moments in peace.
I always figured it was more like the Lifestream from a certain other Square Enix title. No Heaven or Hell. it's just the source of all souls, and it's where every soul returns to when their time comes- no exceptions.
Riku: "To be fair, I never intended to harm you. But you had to escalate the situation. I had no choice..." Roxas: "Yet, you allowed a white guy in blackface to order you around like it was a regular thing to do?" Riku: "... Fair point, that was kind of racist in retrospect." Roxas: "And, you were pretty racist yourself..." Riku: "Well, I've learned from my wrong perceptions. You're okay in my book, Roxas..."
The similarities tho... *spoilers ahead* Hoder inside Xehanort at the top of scala, same arena as here, eraqus inside terra. Some PTSD trigger there for xehanort lol. Also eraqus saying checkmate to him was the same when Baldr said checkmate to them both b4 the final showdown. Child of destiny... sora saying leader accepts that destiny... meanwhile xehanort believes he was as it was drilled into him since he was born. Xehanort watching eraqus embrace trio whilst he staggers with no friends around him to then be aided by eraqus. Them leaving as their child selves topped it off for me :')
When the OST started playing around 10:45, I honestly felt broken. That OST and Mickey’s line that followed was just like the very first game in the series. In KH1, as Sora, Riku and Co. were struggling to close the first Door to Kingdom Hearts that we (the players) see, Mickey appears and says: “Now, Sora!! Let’s close this door for good!!” Here in KH3, the same OST plays, and Mickey says “Sora, let’s close it.” The first time Mickey said it felt like a “Don’t worry, we’ll meet again soon!” kind of tone. But in KH3, it really felt like the end. In the aftermath of the Keyblade War, there was now nothing left to do except close the Final Chapter of this story and seal the true Kingdom Hearts away for good.
*Young Xehanort winning the chess * Young Eraqus singing: "Well I never thought that it'd be so simple but I found a way, I found a way And I always thought that it'd be too crazy but I found a way, I found a way"
Simple : Eraqus used Terra's body just as Xehanort did - only this time, it was with his consent. We do not need to search for plotholes where they do not exist. It is not because we do not get an explanation that it is automatically incoherent, we just don't know. x)
I assume Eraqus' heart went into Terra's heart since Birth By Sleep... Or if it's not then I don't know when. Does that mean that Eraqus was also in Terranort? Who became Xehanort? Who became Ansem and Xemnas ? Or at least in the Guardian that Terranort and Ansem had ? Or maybe in the Lingering Will... I think that because I don't think that his heart would be spared if it was in Terra's heart since Terra lived all this. But maybe it is something that wasn't thought initially and just added because it looked cool and moving. But if it had been thought for the story... I find that incredible but at the same time very sad.
Yeah, i think i agree with Sora here. A good leader would probably not Kill his best friend, Kill his pupil, Commit identity fraud, Kill his master, Kill random people, & then Kill a young girl out of curiousity.
Did anyone care that Master Xehanort called Master Eraqus a sly fox? (Sly Fox)Meaning:That a person is very crafty or dishonest You are experienced and cunning you can usually get whatever you want, sometimes by underhanded means. That is a really hint towards Master Eraqus isn't it? :)
I mean, probably not, but maybe. Like, yeah, we're Xehanort, but he doesn't exactly remember everything. He gets flashes of memories but not the entire thing. But I think it could be cause I think Ephemer reincarnated into Eraqus. It's just a theory of mine, but yk
i love how the entire series, like 9 or so games and hundreds of hours of playing time built up to an ending where xehanort gets schizophrenia and gets convinced to kill himself by a hallucination
Zenort’d explanation made no sense. World was shadow, and light came after...and is surprised the world is filled with shadow? What? My fault to try to understand Nomura
Long story short, Xehanort wanted to use Kingdom Hearts to restart the worlds, and correct the balance of light and dark, by wiping out all life in the galaxy.
The worlds were never always like this. Everything was connected together as one and the worlds were in balance with kingdom hearts at the center of it all as kingdom hearts is the light of all. But that equilibrium was broken thanks to the keyblade war and everything along with kingdom hearts was swallowed by darkness. He's essentially trying to hit the reset button and bring things back to the way it originally was and that means destroying what they all know.
5 Saddest Moments in KH3 1.) Terra, Aqua, and Ven reuniting with Master Eraqus 2.) Roxas returns and reunites with Xion and Axel 3.) Terra, Aqua, and Ven reunite 4.) Master Eraqus and Xehanort reunite 5.) Kairi’s Death
That last one is like a stab to the chest to some fans. XDDDDDDD Cus she was given such a good something but then they ended up just killing her having not being able to do much of anything...Ofcourse KH3:Remind was able to save it. XDDD
