You got emotional...I am setting here watching this and hearing about your retirement, I got tears in my eyes. My wife asked me what I was tearing up about. I told her one of my all-time favorite anglers is fishing his last season. Hard to believe. Thank you KVD for all the great moments. You have given this sport the recognition it deserves. Another great in Michigan retiring, first for me was Yzerman in 06 then and now Michigan looses another Goat, KVD, man what an ambassador of the sport, stay positive man. I smell some BPT trophies coming your way before your tour is finished, now back to the tears😢

What an amazing career. What you have done for the face of bass fishing, Bass Pro Shops, Strike King, Quantum, and now Lews can never be topped. Have really enjoyed watching you fish, win ,and instruct. I still have one of your Quantum Crankbait rods and will never get rid of it. One of the best I own. I remember when I first started bass fishing it was before smart phones I Read a lot of books about it, I watched bass fishing program's and I practiced and applied what I learned, KVD was very young at the time, for me using a baitcaster took some time to master then I refined my spinning technique, my love for bass fishing outlasted my first marriage, women who bass fish are not women you find everyday thank God my current wife loves to bass fish, when I say KVD to my wife she knows it's Kevin Van Dam the greatest bass fisherman ever.

Best wishes for your Winning Final year in a Fantastic Bass Fishing Career! Can't say I followed it through all the changes in the Pro Bass Tour, but one thing I can say about you! Is that from the jump you believed in your fishing abilities! And I can make this statement! In 1989-1990? I took a Bass seminar. I think six pros? Denny Bauer, Jay Yelas, Joe Thomas has just won the Red Man, and the all time Bassmaster money winner at that time! 1.6 million? Larry Nixon and he proceeds to tell a story about a kid from Kalamazoo Michigan, a spinnerbait fisherman! Larry was a big worm guy at that time! Anyway he says this buckaroo from Kalamazoo came up to him and stated "I'm going to kick your ass on the Pro Bass Tour, the all time money winner! Larry said, well Son you better get busy because 1.6 million is a lot of ass kicking!" To use an old Robert Davall saying "that's a bold statement from a one eyed Fatman!" But you did everything you told Larry you would do! That's not bragging! That's Fact! Great Career!

The 3 periods and penalties and all the catch as many as you can stuff is pretty dumb. I have never been a fan or followed this tour . They have been around 10 years or so and I have never understood the points or groups and all that stuff. I wish this league would fold so that they would have one top tour and make an exception and let these guys have 25 or 30 spots on the Elite Series. Not to immediately take lower tier elite guys out, they should expand the number of spots on tour.

Can't call yourself a champion or anything equivalent using sonar and all that fancy stuff your just like a "pro athlete" using performance enhancers
