i really hate those "theres nothing like the old KOL" comments! in my opinion they where good and still are! they just evolved in their music, found their real taste and are enjoying it! they still have awesome lyrics, guitars, bass lines and drumming! stop the hating and enjoy what KOL works so hard to give us !
In all honesty and rarity with any song I prefer the album/studio version but what a great live version. I was hooked on the first time hearing this, amazing vocals and just the right tempo. Any faster and it would have been silly, any slower and it would have been sleep inducing. “CAN YOU FEEL IT”? Gets me every time 👌🏻
@TheKOLObsessed its not that he's sad. its cause each song he writes has so much emotion, and he's such a good artist he delivers that emotion each time.. even when its tough.
@desmond17oreilly i know what u mean, i think the reason is because this song is quite sad but towards the end there is a kindof breakdown, and more energy needs to go into it. but yeh i agree with u completely
I love the way this sounded on the show, I have the album and LOVE this tune but I think in some ways it sounded better on the show. You can really hear and appreciate each instrument especially drums and even Caleb's voice sounded clearer.
@desmond17oreilly I feel that for sure. They've definitely changed a lot, but I think it was for a purpose. Even though it doesn't seem like he is getting in to it, I think he is singing with a different kind of emotion these days. More of a soulful feel than the fun high energy emotion he used to. I love the old and new. But I agree that is seems real different. Peace easy, man.
love the kings. no matter what i'll always buy every cd they make and listen to every song atleast 7 dozen times. But i am like many other old fans, as good as there new stuff is it couldnt even compare to the likes of soft, pistol of fire, head to toe, talihina sky, etc... i understand they have grown up and changed there style and thats fine with me. But there new stuff has alot of repeating choruses and is much more "radio friendly."IDK like so many others i just want the rawness of the old
@desmond17oreilly true but also the songs they write now are more mature....those were more teens tunes imo. They could be heavier thoughi gotta admit.
the A cappella bit in this version is way better than the studio one. GET THEM TO REPLACE IT. plus they're properly wired during this show. ITS FUKIN IS-RITE POWER BOSS LID!!
@desmond17oreilly everyband has to change their sound and style, like from the way they use to dress when they first started to now, dont get me wrong i love the old KOL stuff but every band has to change over the years
@desmond17oreilly your wrong. this is a very serious song and it means alot to caleb. i didn't expect him to but jumping off the walls. he's centered. mollys chambers is a sort of party song. this just isn't.
@desmond17oreilly Although I kind of understand what you're saying, I completely disagree with how Caleb looks bored now(?!) His voice is still just as strong, they still play Molly's Chambers at their shows, probably better than they used too... With the new album, it's just not as raw as the Youth days. They've grown up a bit, so may be you should as well
I like their old stuff too, but musically the new stuff is light years more advanced. The arrangements are much more intricate, the vocals and harmonies are considerably more difficult. As with most bands, they've grown both in their ability on their respective instruments and in their sond writing. I hope they continue to evolve just as many other great bands have done. Clapton seemed to be enjoying what he was hearing and that's good enough for me.
@desmond17oreilly ... Gotta respectfully disagree. This is a completely different piece of art, far more dark and beautiful in a completely different way. I loved this band from the start and feel the true fans (you are obviously one) should grow with the band despite there commercial success. This is the greatest band of our generation, we have an opportunity that Nirvana's fans never got, we shouldnt over think it, pure art isnt on every download.
@desmond17oreilly caleb gets into it at the end?.... ok dont most songs BUILD to a climax? 2003... 8 years ago... are you the same person you were 8 years ago? you were? oh so you're right KoL SHOULD be making the EXACT same music they did 8 years ago when they were "strong"? Anyone who says KoL has changed... is RIGHT!! because thats what people do! we live and we learn and we GROW!!!!
