One Two nah as far as empathy and emotion, he bares his soul at 3:47, and most of those 24 original songs don't even come close, hell one of them was about erectile dysfunction lol
mrbobo606 I think all of their music from holy roller to walls is amazing The only song that wouldn't be in my top 10 but is still always a moment for me is sex on fire. If it wasn't for Caleb dislocating his shoulder sex on fire would have never happened to them. Only by the night to walls is more mainstream but it's still better than most garbage today. But I do agree with you the holy roller to because of times might be their best.
mrbobo606 also Matt has become a better guitarist than before on this album. He is still good on previous albums but this might be the best guitar work he has ever written.
Agreed. Don't get me wrong, Kings of Leon's new music is still very good, and i've got no problem with the fact that their sound has changed on the new albums, but i just think the southern rock sound on the first few records was something that made them stand out in a class of their own
This song is completely insane. The bass , the voice, everything about this band, looking forward to the new album. The album WALLS was very very good. Never have I loved a band for so long. Saw them live and can't wait to do it again.
The bass is what drives this song home. Often, a solid bassline is underrated while being the key component of a special song. I view the bassline on this song as the chapters gracefully flowing to the next with a distinctive distorted effect.
What a weird song to say this on. Most of his basslines contribute way more to the song than this one does, where he's literally just strumming the root with 8th notes - can't think of anything more basic.
@@trailnut6002 his bass is so powerful on this song. The first time I heard it introducing the song it gave me chills. It might just be eighth notes but the way he plays them and the effects he uses add so much to the song.
Jared Followill is a super underrated bassist. He might not be up there shredding or slapping solos but his basslines are always really creative and tasteful. KoL gives him a lot more space in the mix than a lot of other bands do as well.
@@trailnut6002 That might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. His bassline literally is driving this song forward, how much more can a line "contribute" to a song? He's definitely playing harmonics as much as he's playing roots in this song, and have you tried to mantain the pace of 8th notes like he does for a 6 minute song without breaking rhythm or messing up at least once? He's got no room to hide mistakes in at all with this song.
I love the permanent evolving sound of this song. Like drowning in burning high lights. For me is the best song of my year!! Great album and the know it!
From the heart you are amazing. When I first heard you. You had my ear. In fact you reminded me of someone. A green eyed bandit from the past. I can't believe how long it's been since I found you guys. Thank you.
I see the grass beneath me I smell the winter sky And think to myself Don't pass me by You dance in strange conditions with strangers of the night I see you're crazy and so am I You bled out red and blue The boys of NYU, they saw you coming from miles away Nothing is quite as homey, we dive in sunny days I see you Kenny, you castaway Oh, don't say it's over Don't say is over, anymore Oh, don't say it's over Don't say it's over, anymore Bright lights, that made the city Quaaludes on Christmas Eve and all the good times we've ever seen The roles we played together The slaps across my face My face brings new reason you write the scene? Oh, don't say it's over Don't say is over anymore Oh, don't say it's over Don't say it's over anymore My angel hovers over The light comes crashing in I know it’s how this here story ends I'll hang around forever, until you cut me down I'm crossed and ready to face the crowd Oh, don't say it's over Don't say is over anymore Oh, don't say it's over Don't say it's over anymore Oh, don't say it's over Don't say is over anymore Oh, don't say it's over Don't say it's over anymore
This song reminds me of my wife and not precisely because of what she says, but because when we started to be boyfriends, this song had just come out, a few weeks ago we were married for 4 years and today I put this music on my son and he likes it !! kol became the soundtrack of my life 🤘🏻
I'd say the guitar is the best part but the drums, the base, the acoustic guitar, it all is just so perfect together, but I can say that the guitar is my fav part
