Brennan is a fkn genius. It’s twice as enjoyable because his character work and humor is so convincing and yet I’m still staring at these 2 grown men bicker as ex lovers
Each of the PCs make me cry at some point but Lou is the only one who establishes his character SO COMPLETELY off the bat that I’ll cry with his first lines of dialogue
@@backtoids Well, in context it was more Liz had trouble adjusting to her new life with the Umbral Arcana being broken for her. She went from knowing the world as most people know it to being directly involved in cases with magical beings, and, in her words, like she was "in a fucking cartoon"
God I love ANY interactions Lou has with ANY Brennan NPC. It's not here but I think Kingston's "I WAS faithful! I AM faithful! I WOULD'VE CONTINUED TO BE faithful!" is one of my top lines from UC Season 1.
absolutely. Fabian talking with his dad, amathar and caramelinda, and gunnie in starstruck. All the players are amazing, but Lou and Brennan's dynamic are always ones I like.
@@jishnubhattacharya3387 Yeah, I think it's a result of the fact that, out of everyone there, I believe Brennan has known Lou the longest, as they were partners on an improv comedy team together for *several* years. They've had time to build up a tremendous amount of chemistry
I unfortunately thought someone had jeopardized the marriage instead of the union falling apart from the lifestyle. I; however, love, "She's a G****** CENTAUR!"
“she’s wanted to fuck you for years” made me wheeze especially in context of when Kingston painting time travelled to colonial times and met Misty/Rowan
3:09 LOU's ACTING IS IMPECCABLE. gosh he really did sound like a guy who loved Liz, and still loves her but they're apart so now they're just fucking acquaintances now and that YEAH was PERFECT
how could you have cut off the best line? "i AM faithful, i WAS faithful, I would have continued to be faithful" lou makes a man feel that one even with the coldest of hearts
I remember watching this episode for the first time and going "oh damn, these guys are super talented". Seriously, fantastic acting and a genuine masterclass in showing and not telling. I don't think we even know Liz exists before the first scene but we get so much information about that relationship from their argument.
Honestly, Lou is amazing at playing these flawed characters of his. With Kingston, we admire his altruism, but we also get to know it’s a double-edged sword. Liz divorced him because he always put himself last and everyone else first, and he passed up multiple opportunities for himself because he’s selfless to the point of detriment.
brennan and lou are so good that when i first found out what dnd was (fantasy high) i sat through almost over half an hour believing it was all scripted
If you follow Lou and Brennan's backgrounds, they have years of experience in stand-up, stage writing, TV script writing, improve, and philosophy degrees. They are beyond talented and specially qualified for this.
