What a guy! When I met him a few years ago in Hamburg, I told him, the fuckin' Germans loves his music. (In fact he said a hundred times, the German are his second favourites after all the other people in the World!) He grumbled with his cemetery-voice: "Only the younger ones, Son!" Also I met Bela B from the german Band Die Ärzte at this remarkable concert. He loves Kinky too. Stay tunded, Kinkster. Can't wait to see you once more.
Kinky loves Germany. He speaks about how great German audiences are. He says German young ppl know the lyrics to his songs. He tours there every chance he gets.
Karen Jones Good to hear, Karen. It’s a difficult time for us all. We need Kinky to keep on keepin‘ on. Wait a minute. This one is from another guy I guess. 😄
I saw Kinky at the restart of Rolling Thunder 1977, Lakeland, Fl. on Easter Sunday. Kinky sang "They don't make Jews like Jesus Anymore " I saw the show that Thursday in Tampa. I was disappointed he didn't reprise that song.
Met Kinky around 15 years back, down home, all round enjoyable company... on a previous visit to Australia his show at an intimate Sydney venue he drew Bill Clinton & Will Smith both in town at the same time, Clinton for some highly paid business conference gig, Smith a movie, both big Kinky fans.
I wonder if that's Kinky's house behind him? Met him at Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos while attending college there in 1979. (Yes, I didn't party too much, and actually received my degree) Kent Finlay introduced us, and I played some Bob Wills piano licks for them (before hauling the piano home because I had just bought it).
