A drive around Loch Leven with a stop in the small towns at the head of the loch - Kinlochleven & Kinlochmore.
The rush of water entering the river feeding into Loch Leven was quite noticeable. Wish we had a bit more time to stop and have a tea and check out the aluminium museum. The Pelton wheel on display in the park is fascinating from an engineering viewpoint. 2 more stops today!

I live there. In this spectacular scenery this river was once a salmon river and the water you see is the used water to Generate electricity for our village. The water you see falls a seven foot a second. Pretty fast, plus Kinlochleven has many pubs and guest houses to stay, and the people are friendly.

It's a village, not a town. It's called KinlochLEVEN , not Levan. Its not terrible in Winter. The water is not coloured because of peat. The TAILrace Inn, not Mill. And it's nothing to do with the river. We've never had a Mill. And don't do 10mph, locals still have to get to work .

Sorry, but I'm not a Scot and cannot pronounce things the way Scots do. I often get words wrong when I speak too, but that is hard to correct on a video. 1, I don't know how to dub over a video and 2, it takes 1 hour to upload 5 mins of video for me. Glad winter is not bad, is that because of climate change? Winter is the best time of year where I live. Phoenix Arizona. It's a good place to escape to if you suffer from S.A.D. Clouds are as rare as roundabouts. I didn't do 10mph and I let the speeders pass, using the left turn signal to let them know it was safe to go, as a courtesy. I do a similar thing here but people don't know what that means. I still like Kinlochleven, the village and now you know a little about me too.

@@richbinaz geezo, even I read that as KinlochLEVAN. If your hitting here again, Google the history. It is the 1st village in the country to have electricity in the homes , even Buckingham Palace still used gas. The village is steeped in history on how it was developed. A lot of political wrangling went on , right till the 70s. During WW1, German POWs and conscientious objectors played a big part in developing the hydro pipes that jetstreamed the water and developed Aluminium towards the war effort. They also hand made the high road out of the village. The reason it meanders so much is because the Germans couldn't carve into the Gharb Bheinn so any rock formation they came across they bent the road around it. There is still remnants of thd POW camp visible to this day and a few settled here and in Glencoe after the war. Sadly 1918 influenza killed quite a few. If ever you are through the village again , message me. I will take you a tour and put the kettle on.
