This guy's back is still hurting from carrying the team for so many years. He played at such a consistent level for 70+ games for 7 straight seasons, and rarely ever had an off night. This week has truly been amazing from a fan base perspective and shows what a great teammate he was. I'm glad I was able to attend this ceremony in person, congrats Kipper on this tremendous honour, hopefully we'll see him at the Dome more often.
This city is eternally grateful for his years here. Make no mistake about it, despite the team having some incredible players, Kipper is the reason we made the cup final.
The legendary pipe minder that so many of us grew up with... One of the best goalies to ever play the game, and he was ours. Seeing so many of his most incredible saves gave me chills- the memories don't do them justice. Did anyone else tear up as his banner was raised?
Thank you for everything you have done for the Calgary flames and your fans. I will never forget the countless jaw drops my dad and I had when we watched you play. I also can't forget the amount of times myself or others tried to scorpion save a very easy shot just so we could feel like you!
