Ellen really loves Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, and Skyrim has added fishing in a new update! So she thought she'd take Luke on a little fishing trip to Tamriel! Will it be as tranquil and beautiful as the show? Or will Kippers cause mayhem?? Let's find out...

She's quite right though, it gives off a magical feel in Whiterun. Fog obscures and can lend a hand in creating a mysterious and enchanting environment. Provided you have things like Nirnroot and beautiful soundtrack music to take that fantasy feel the rest of the way.

I like to imagine that everytime after they recorded some Kippers gameplay, a few days later someone in the offices picks up the safe file, puts random equipment on Kippers and send him to a random place, and that's why Luke is always confused about the state he finds Kippers in.

It's also a sentence waaaaaaay too many people will be saying in the next 4 to 6 years before the next TES is released. I once said, jokingly, to a friend of mine that we'll have at least 10 re-releases of Skyrim until then. At this pace, that joke might turn out to be a prediction.

I pushed my dad to watch Gone Fishing, and now he loves it. He was raised not to talk about his feelings, and it's good for him to see two men of his generation having fun and talking openly about their emotions and their mental health, which you don't often see on TV.

Anybody who came here, watched the episode and wondered if "Gone Fishing" really is that good.......it is. Ellen described it perfectly and it's one of those shows where very little actually happens each 30mins but that's what makes it so perfect. A great SOTW (as ever) and an equally wonderful TV shout too.

14:15 fun fact: the salmon roe you got is only available by catching a salmon mid-air like that, making it one of the rearest items in skyrim. Finally i could put my vast amount of useless skyrim knowledge to use! :D

ellen i feel like you’d love ‘THE TRUFFLE HUNTERS’! it’s a recent doco about a small group of old italian men who love going out with their cute little dogs into the forest looking for truffles. it’s quite funny and EXTREMELY feel-good. excellently shot as well :)

Love Bob Mortimer. Taskmaster really got me into British Panel Shows like 'Would I Lie to You", "8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown", and subsequently onto a bunch of British Comedy Celebs. Awesome stuff all in all.

While I was working at Amazon in the early part of 2021, I discovered a love for BBC nature and discussion radio. We had 10 hour days in a gray building with no music or AC, so having something like Gone Fishing playing in my ears would have been a lovely distraction.

Having watched Gone Fishing, I think it best encompasses a certain kind of British humour amongst other things: the good-natured banter between Paul and Bob, the thoughtful and deep subjects discussed in an amusing yet near-reverential manner, the unexpected laughs, and of course the British countryside vistas gently portrayed.

Sometimes I watch an oxboxtra episode and just know it’s one I’ll come back to when I’ve had a bad day - and this one definitely made the list. I think one of the best things about the channels is how much fun everyone has, because I always feel like I’m laughing with them.

The fishing map reminds me of the treasure maps you get in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, where it looks similar to a place on the world map but it's not that easy to tell.

Gone Fishing is amazing. Not only is it super wholesome and relaxing, but they tackle some very difficult subjects in very accessible ways. Mens health and mental health in particular. Its just a delight

There's a fishing show I see on Sunday morning (Canadian) TV that is the exact opposite of Gone Fishing, by the sounds of it. It's almost entirely branded & selling Motors and lures and stuff, with very minimal conversation between the fishers beyond just narrating what they're doing as they fish. Ellen's description @4:00 has sold me on Gone Fishin, I'm gonna pull it up to see the contrast between presentations.
