Happy to see this. 100% , idk if ever i've heard the Host mesh so well with both Runner/Couch and game. Recognized FruitCup from some other run, she's a good host.
@@C4_XceLsior Yeah it's also just because she's a huge Kirby fan, on top the fact she's speedran this game too (dunno about any other Kirby games, but I wouldn't be surprised). She's a genuine sweetheart.
I'm just going to say, not enough people give love to electric fire. Something about Kirby setting himself on fire and running around helplessly has always made me laugh uncontrollably.
Kirby 64 is one of my favorite 64 games, hands down. It's one of the few I come back to years later and still love every second. So awesome to see it run this event.
Favorite Kirby 64 power is double rock. Yeah it's not very creative, interesting, or useful in game, but giant golem Kirby was one of my first experiences of feeling enormous and invincible in games and that's still one of my favorite feelings.
Crystal Shards was such a fun idea with the fusion of abilities. I really wish they'd do more of that again, because it was so exciting to see what new fusions you could come up with when the opportunity arose, and how they'd play.
My favorite was... rock and cutter, I think it was? It turned you into various rock animals that couldn't take damage, the flappy bird was my favorite.
Both the birds were amazing, yeah - the chickadee letting you bowl straight through enemies on level ground, and the owl gives a satisfying thwomp impression.
OMG AT 29:01 I NEVER KNEW HOW TO GET THAT ONE AS A SIX YEAR OLD IT DROVE ME CRAZY...... this run was so great it brought back so many ancient memories....
That run was crazy fast. 1:07:22 would be 4th place on the 100% leaderboards. Also my favorite was bomb/fire because you could jump higher without losing your run speed.
The fact this is the only game that let you combine abilities is such a shame. Every time a new Kirby comes out, I'm hoping for the ability to make power combos again.
