Did you guys send me a message saying I've been selected to win a PS5? Has the channel logo but seems fishy and I'm not clicking on the message unless I know it's from you, if not you might want to check into this. It also says from Whatsapp me next to your logo.
I often struggle with 3D platformers, so this game seems right up my alley. It just oozes charm and everything I've seen so far immediately lifted my spirits with its cuteness!☺️
I wasn't originally going to buy this day one, but the demo charmed the heck out of me. I laughed at the adorable absurdity of Kirby enveloping a vending machine, shooting juice cans out to attack enemies and break down walls. And of course his victory dance after clearing a stage made me smile. Nintendo knows how to delight and this game's no exception.
I’m glad to hear that the new Kirby seems to be doing just as good as previous games especially with the transition to a more open 3D gameplay. I unfortunately won’t be able to get my hands on it for awhile but I’m sure the wait will be well worth it!
This game is so much god damn fun. It's been a stressful start to the year, and this game has been a great, forgiving way to unwind after dinner. I especially love the time trials scattered through the world.
All these years owning a nes, snes, N64, GameCube and Switch I never played a Kirby game until now. Decided to give the demo a chance and I was well impressed. Decided to buy the full game and I’m having a great time playing along with my 5 year old son. The graphics, charm and gameplay is something special.
I've always had nostalgia for Kirby as Kirby's Dream Land 2 on the Gameboy was one of my first games as a kid. This is the first Kirby game I've played since and I'm so glad I did, this was a fun time and it's great to see Kirby getting the Mario style treatment with his games.
My 3yr old went absolutely wild watching me play this game's demo. It's the first time she was so invested in any of my games. She was actively cheering for Kirby and telling me what to do next. Might end up buying this just so my kids can play with me lol.
This is only the second Kirby game I've ever played, the first being the original NES game. But I've only played the Demo. Can't afford it unfortunately but I enjoyed the demo. Hope to get it soon.
My impression of the opening cinematic is that Kirby has been taken to a different planet with different physics and atmosphere composition; hence the limited hovering.
I actually like that this is more linear compared to a ‘bigger sandbox’ type game. I also really enjoyed the free demo on the eshop. Will definitely add it to the wishlist
This game is everything that I wanted it to be really. And it's not an absolute cakewalk. I just think it's so damn fun and full of joy. We need some good straight up fun games in this effed up world and this so hit the spot. And co-op with my daughter is something I'll cherish forever. Great times.
Never played Kirby before but I hopped on the demo on a whim and knew I had to get it with my next paycheck. It's a fun game but honestly it just makes me zen af. So peaceful lol it's a vibe to keep in my back pocket forsure
This game is really impressive. As you said more like 3D world than Odyssey but I personal think thats good. I’m really enjoying it and although it’s not difficult to complete the levels, completing al the objectives isn’t straight forward. Looks incredible on the OLED as well
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know how much I love your videos. I almost never buy a game without watching your review first. Some guy is scamming a PS5 giveaway in these comments though but I told him where he could put that PS5! Thanks for all you guys do!
Your statement about this game being more like Mario 3D world than Odyssey is crucial in understanding what this game is trying to be. Those expecting an open sandbox with exploration gameplay are bound to be disappointed, while those seeking a linear platformer with brief, snappy levels will have a great time!
I am happy that a Kirby game is finally in 3D but I don’t think I can justify spending $60 for a 10 hour game right now, but it is nice to see that it tuned out more than okay!
This is only ten hours if you speed through every level and collect absolutely nothing and do none of the extra stuff. It’s much much longer if you’re going for a 100%, which has been extremely fun so far. Definitely more worth $60 than most similar Nintendo games, but that’s just my opinion I guess
I'm not actually a fan of Super Mario Odyssey, whereas SM3DW is my favourite Mario game, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this game take more inspiration from the latter.
when i tried the demo and saw that it let's you choose hard from the start i was so happy, i hope they do the same with wind waker, WW in hard is basically cartoon souls
I looooove the NES version Kirby games, which i just discovered 5 years ago, still playing them! So cool there’s a new Kirby, and will be playing it at some point!
Ended up enjoying this enough to 100% it, was a super charming and fun platformer with some great theming to it (and some stuff to scare the kiddies) I enjoyed the more linear nature with more focused levels and felt that the detailed environments made the stages that much more enjoyable.
Really fun game. It's allowed me to have a rest period in a sense. I can enjoy playing this and not feel as if it's a labor to play.
2 года назад
Like me playing Elden Ring 🤣 a labor indeed. But just loved this Kirby demo! A relaxing, fun and cute game! Having played Kirby Dreamland 2 on the original Gameboy makes me want this one.
Truthfully i hope someone sees this. I haven't had this much fun playing a kirby since kirby 64 the crystal shards. It wasn't too challenging until then end (besides some optional challenges) but I wasn't here for the challenge, so it was a nice surprise. The bombastic fun music put a huge smile on my face and just overall i was having a grand time through the entire game and couldn't put it down until i beat it. Currently in the post endgame stuff no spoilers, it is challenging and I'm still having a blast Also the small details in the game just made me laugh as well HIGHLY reccomend this title
I've been loving this game a lot. It isn't very challenging though, which at times is nice for me. Playing this makes me want to pick BioMutant back up.
I’m actually happy that with this and Mario Odyssey and other indies M64 style 3D platformers may get a comeback. Keeping my fingers crossed for more games like this, Nintendo developed or not.
Another SwitchUp video babyyyy! I have not started Kirby yet, I’m afraid to play it and it ends lol I’m going to be spending time in a hospital getting some disease and medical issues fixed all at once so I want to save things like this for distraction and entertainment 😅 DISCO ELYSIUM PLEASW GO ON SALE 😭
@@GrinningWolfGames Hey man thank you! With sickness, you can either let it define and drag you down, or you can laugh through it. I rarely take things seriously (still have my breakdowns 😅). But I’m looking forward to playing! Thanks again 🎉
This is well worth picking up, especially if you are a Kirby fan, this game does him justice for sure. I will always be annoyed by mouthful mode since we've literally seen Kirby swallow stuff almost the size of a planet, but whatever, lol. The mode is still interesting and the plot is actually pretty decent if you are one of those that have been digging into the true lore of Kirby that most never realize.
I see kirby around, and i’ve never gotten the hype (but yes he is super adorable, just never really played any of the games). Watched your video, found out they have a demo, and 30 min later i know am highly tempted to buy the game! Darn it!! 😂💸
@@genericsavings i just bought the game! And you’re right, i’m smiling most of the time (when im not failing at those side quests/games haha 😅). No regrets at all, I’m having a blast!
It's my first Kirby game and i laughed at myself for falling for its cuteness. Got whacked by the first fox-doggo enemy you meet because i thought it was an npc to talk to. He was just adorable
Everyone knows that the name Kirby was a tribute to a lawyer that helped Nintendo in their early days in the US market. What most people don't know is that the design of Kirby is also based on the same lawyer, who was indeed bald and had a worrying Pepto Bismol-like pink complexion.
@@SwitchUpYt ...I'm still so desperate for "SilkSong" (all seemed to start with your Hollow Knight review, will only be right to see the SwitchUp SilkSong review. You guys are going to have a lot of pressure 😂) If it ever comes out 😿
It's pretty, but at that price I wanted something more. On rails adventuring with a low difficulty just isn't what I wanted. Once the novelty of the visuals wore off, it really wasn't all that different to the last game of two. Ho hum. Back to the multiverse for me. As usual, great review guys. !
The post credits game is not very creative and can become a bit tedious, but up to this point the game should be a lot of fun for most players. As somewhat of a Kirby Fanboy I would probably rate it at around 80% overall. Planet Robot is still the most fun title in the series to me, which deserves a 90% rating, imo.
It's a wonderful game! The ones who just drop it beause it isn't as challenging as other games clearly miss out. Really funny copy abilities, tricky time trials, cool boss fights and beautiful graphics.
@@Ankjell Well, at least it has structure unlike Eldern Ring in which summons and ashes break the game experience. Why even bother doing anything when good friend Oleg, Mimic and Tiche can take care of most bosses themselves.
This is really a great change in the franchise, little late? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely, most people concern was again the super easy gameplay, it always surprise me that with an allmighty dark lore, we still dont have a more like “hard” gameplay. Maybe will happen like metroid dread, a free update with maybe a more difficult gameplay, but for now as always its gonna be a pain in the ass getting this game at 100%. Damn that collectibles looks fantastic. Great review as always guys! Keep the good job. Saludos desde México!!!
@@DanielGonzalez-vo5ni getting the hundred % and endgame consumes a lot of time. A LOT, i’ve played, canvas course, nightmare in dreamland, mass attack, adventure, triple deluxe and robobot. I still have to play star allies
While I enjoyed the demo, I don’t feel too compelled to buy this that quick anytime soon. However, it may have the best rendition of King Dedede’s theme I’ve heard in awhile!
Everyone says mouthful mode is like the capture mechanic while failing to mention the capture mechanic was already a lot like copy abilities... the thing kirby has been doing for decades lol. I don't think odyssey is to credit much for that really at all, and does it a bit of a disservice imo. Its the same as saying its the dark souls of this or botw of that. Not really saying much while in the same breath making something seem derivative. I see it as a creative addition to how kirby already functions which is justified with him being in this setting. Much like how the mecha in robobot worked
I bought this by accident - I thought I caught a sale for Dreamland which I already played the demo for. But I bought this game instead. Reading through the reviews, this may have been a happy accident. I’m excited to play with my 3 year old
Game looks like Mario 64, Kirby style lol. I'll definitely pick it up at some point, but most likely during a sale. From what I'm seeing, people have completed the game 100% and it hasn't been out a week yet. I could probably beat this on my morning work commute. So $60 is a bit much for a game so easy that a toddler can beat it. But it definitely looks fun and well made for while it lasts. Great review!! Salute!!!
It's the type of game you would rent back in the day when that was still a thing, in fact this would be the perfect rental game. It's not quite as open as mario 64 as in that one you could kinda go around and talk to a few npcs, this feels more like a more open gauntlet dark legacy but with mario 64 controls/mechanics.
This is Kirby's version of Mario Odyssey and possibly the only Kirby game that I want to play. As with all the first party titles I own, Ill be waiting for a Black Friday sale so it will be awhile for me before i experience that "mouthful mode."
I ended up not buying this at launch like I was planning to. Some day I will get around to adding this and Metroid Dread to my Switch collection, but I just don’t have the time for them right now :-(
Just got to the 3rd world, and really enjoying it so far. The time trials and collection of all the Waddle Dees has been really fun, and a bit challenging sometimes too! Thanks for the great review, guys!
Apparently everyone who says the game is too easy hasn't tried going for 100%. You have to beat like every single boss in the game without getting hit. So it is basically Metroid Dread's dread mode, but in Kirby.
*Decaff Mario Odyssey* I played the demo and although I liked it, it just felt too easy for me. Seems to be intended for a younger audience in my opinion. So the hype I felt when I saw it announced (was planning to buy it) just faded. Cool game though, but not for me. Great review as always!
Played a bit last night. And it wasn't too bad. Had some funny moments along the way too. But I thought it would be more Land Based & not so small-city based. But I'm only on the first part so, there's that. I also started Playing the Crisis trilogy again, but obviously on the NSW now rather than on my XB360 or PS3. And it was better graphically & control-wise too, than I expected. So ill be jumping back on both again shortly. But Kirby & the Forgotten Land is an kids title, but there's nothing I'd suggest an adult to really be bothered with, because it was created extreamly laid back & lazily. With no thoughts pertaining to making it for adults too. Well, thus far, anyway. But I'm the kind of Gamer who loves games like... Boogie Bunnies - XB360. Small Arms - XB360. Hexic HD - XB360. Uno Live - XB360. The Maw - XB360. Blinx: The Time Sweeper - XB360. Conkers: Bad Fur Day - XB360. Death Spank - XB360. Brutal Legend - XB360. Canis Canem Edit - PS4 PRO. Rayman & the Raving Rabbids - Wii. Smack That Gugl - iOS. Hungry Helga - iOS. The Gerninator - PS VITA. Ms. Germinator - PS VITA. Splosion Man - XB360. Ms. Splosion Man - XB360. Pac-Man - Android. Ms. Pac-Man - Android. Comix Book Hero - XB360. Chimpact - PS VITA/iOS.
I’m pretty torn on this one. It looks like a cute game, but I have never played any Kirby games. It is just a little to high for me with what the content is
I just played the demo and dropped it very fast. It is unbelievably aimed at kids. As an adult it was just no fun. Looks great, sounds great but it's really boring to play. It tries to do action rpg with the platforming and if I was 10 years old, I'd love it. I thought it was going to be one of those that any age would enjoy but the gameplay is pretty boring for an older person. I'm not particularly great at games, I'm somewhere in the middle ground but this was by any standard, far too easy to be fun. If you have kids and it's for them, then it is a great choice.
Demo is nothing compared to the rest of the game. This is coming from an adult who enjoyed every ounce of this game😭 I’d say as an adult, i look forward to the overload of cuteness and dopamine this game gives me. Also about difficulty, it actually does have a level of difficultly as you progress. It might seem easy to the naked eye because all the levels are about getting from point A to point B. But what adds actual difficulty is fulfilling all the tasks needed in each level (such as finding every single waddle Dee in each level) which will require you to replay the levels (unless you actually got all waddle dees in the first round) and it’s just so damn satisfying to find them all. Trust me, I say it’s worth every penny and one of the most fun platform games I’ve ever played. This game has taught me that extreme difficultly in a game is really not needed to make a fun game. (Also the waddle Dee town expands so much more as you find more waddle Dees, so you pretty much didn’t get to witness the whole town through the demo)
got this for kids. they love it its not like the OG games insult a toddlers intelligence but just hard enough they need some help and take a few goes to do it
I don't understand how I'm supposed to hit the like button on so many videos, when every time I hit like, it saves the video to a like playlist that I can't get rid of! Can someone help me pls!? I'd like to show my support with saving every single video I hit like on. Thanks.
Bit of disappointment about this game. I am about 40% and you spend like 75% of your time going through the time challenges (tresure road), the game is extremely easy and looks quite empty. Luckily I bought the physical cartridge a 44 euro and not a 59 euro in the eshop.
Appreciate the review as ever guys, would you say it's comparable in difficulty to Mario games? I find they normally provide enough of a challenge to keep me playing. In the past however I've often dropped Kirby games after a few hours as they're a bit too easy
It's fairly easy to finish the levels. I think i died twice so far. There is a fair bit of challenge in the challenge rooms or if you wish to go for 100%
