Kirby Generation 3 Owner Video Part 1 

Kirbys are the best. I just inherited by grandparents' G3. It still works almost as good as the brand new Avalir I bought about 5 years ago.

I just bought a Generation 3 vacuum today, with all the accessories, at Goodwill for only $60 and I also found the Generation bags at Wal-Mart! Tried it out tonight and it works great!

Up until the newest model, this was the best looking Kirby to me

Thanks for uploading - I've wanted to see this since the early 1990's. I remember when the salesman brought the G3 to my parents house just like it was yesterday. I even remember the salesmans name.

Hi Tenormic3. The early Kirby systems did not use a disposable filter bag. Instead, dirt collected in the cloth bag. When it was time to empty the bag, the user would open the metal Sani Emtor at the base of the bag to let the dirt out. With the addition of disposable bags, the Sani Emtor was re-designed. The new, smaller part was named a Mini Emtor. Thanks for asking!

Hi koos900486. The Mini Emtor is an added benefit of the Kirby system. Because of our powerful motor-up-front design, the unit will pick up heavy objects that other vacuums typically can't. In the event that the object is too heavy to make it all the way into the top-filling disposable bag, it will fall into the Mini Emtor where it can be easily retrieved.

I don't own a KIRBY Generation 3 vacuum cleaner. I own 3 older KIRBY vacuum cleaners.

Hi Caleb, the G3 was the first Kirby system to use TechDrive power assist. It has a transmission that makes it seem effortless to push. This was a revolutionary improvement when the unit was introduced.

It was 1990 when Kirby changed its logo to the current one. The first Kirby logo was just founder Jim Kirby's own handwriting, with minor variations on it until 1953, when it changed to an angular-looking script lettering. In January 1970, when the Classic 1CR came out, the Kirby logo changed to an abstract-looking font.

Of all the Kirby vacuums I own I must say I prefer the ones without tech drive, the machines are a lot lighter and when the ones with tech drive get a bit of age on them they start playing up. Another thing I miss is the light shining through the Kirby badge on top of the machine like the Dual Sanitronic 50. That has to be one of favorite models.

She didn’t raise the head before she turned it off, Should always be. Raise the head, put in neutral then switch off, RNO Raise , Neutral , Off For older models RO Raise, Off Was taught this when I sold the G3, G4 and G5

Yes, unfortunately, this video is showing its age. It wasn't happy about the digital transfer process. It gets better the further into the tape you go. If we can get a better version we'll update it. Thanks for the feedback!

I vote Kirby bring back the classic logo, with the long part on the K and the Y. When I was a kid I used to draw the Kirby logo in school when I was bored.
