What if Kirby had a gimmick, where inhaling an opponent would give him a copy ability. Also Pancake

I like this! This moveset does a pretty solid job of representing Kirby's abilities throughout the series. Though I'd prefer that you replace his Down B with the Pancake ability, but that's just a nitpick.

I'd give the rock ability as his down air, instead of using the needle twice. I like pancakes.

For his neutral special, he wields a gun

I love this video, But I think Kirby’s simplicity for new players is good. A character like villager is a good example, he pulls out a million different things like a sling shot a tree and a missile, to a person who hasn’t played animal crossing it would be weird for someone to just pull out all this stuff. This is why Kirby is good his normal attacks are strait to the point it’s just kicks and punches and no absurd gimmicks. Having Kirby pull out a bunch of random things in my opinion would make his move-set definitely more inspired but also more complicated. Also the rock move is a Kirby staple, it’s a iconic thing for new players to float yo then down special in mid air it makes a new Kirby player feel like they are super strong bay having an invincible move. Taking that away would make the character less accessible to new players. Overall I love this move set concept and don’t want this comment to be negative.

I would change his back air to use his hammer, similar to King Dedede

I think it would be nice if they had specials that made his neutral special actually important. Like his Down-B letting him summon a helper and Up-B teleporting himself to that helper like the helpers do when they are too far away. Side-B can probably be warp star or something I dunno. Helpers would work like the pokeball Ditto but they don’t despawn and have to be KO’d by taking enough damage. They’ll attack if enemies get too close. It helps control space, distracts the opponent, is important for recovering, and requires you to land his signature move to use. When playing Kirby neutral b is just kinda, there. Not very practical unless your opponent neutral b is op and you wanna spam it. I’d probably make N-Air wheel, Up-Smash Bomb (he just holds the bomb and stands in place), D-Smash Mirror (his dash attack) and F-Throw Ice Ejection. Also I think it would be fun if is jump was like in ssf2. Pancake.

Couple nitpicks with this one: I like to think of special moves as being the best representation possible, or the most important representation in a characters skill set. Here are my proposed changes: *Down Smash*: Spark. Works similar to your proposed down special.. *Down Air*: cutter. Works similar to the second half of his current up special *Down Special*: Stone. This move is one of Kirby’s most iconic copy abilities and deserves a spot in the moveset. *Side Special*: Star Rod. Being the first final weapon in the series, I feel it deserves a spot on the moveset. It could work like the item when on the ground, but functions differently in the air. He would instead do a quick front flip that can counter projectiles or damages up close. *Up Special*: Warp Star. An iconic symbol in his series since day one, this could act like a combination of Diddy Kong and inkling’s up specials. Charge for a greater ascent, but you will always come crashing down afterwards. Thanks for reading, feel free to critique!

Some ideas: Kirby could have an atypical shield, and make use of the ninja ability, too. He would hide behind a wooden cutout, and gain complete intangibility until the cutout was broken. It would probably work better as a crouch, though, since it could mimic his current one's low profiling, and he could move left or right (like Snake) without it being OP. If Kirby gets hit with an electric attack while charging down B, he'll still take damage, but his charge would instantly jump up to the next level. Or maybe it could absorb energy projectiles. Back air could have him use the pole ability in a similar way to Shulk's back air. He thrusts the short pole behind him for the first hit, and the opponent gets launched away when it suddenly extends for the second hit. If it's not already a thing, he should have the sleep ability for a taunt, or have it serve as a parallel to Jigglypuff's rest. Great video! It's a shame I didn't get notified when it came out.

Happy Pancakes! Yeah, one thing I wish smash had was the option of downloadable (DLC) costumes and Final Smashes. Kirby has soooooo many options many including the ones you mentioned, but also: The UFO ability, the Yarn Tank from Kirby’s epic yarn, Multiple Super Copy Abilities, and maybe even the Master sword he wields in Amazing Mirror! Anyways, I loved what you did and hope something like this can happen in a future Smash game! :D (I’m certain it will, smash ain’t going anywhere even if Sakurai doesn’t return to it!)

I personally keep the burning dash attack and stone, but other than that I think your video and moveset are pretty good! PS. Kirby loves Pancakes :3

Idea: Bowser can have a counter with his shell. Does more damage if hit from the top. This is a reference to how Mario can’t jump on him, but can jump other enemy. He can also have the bowser shell from double dash as his side special. Also bowser jr can have the airship for the final smash, so it would be fitting for the koopalings.

I’m really glad that you were able to encorperate the metal ability into Kirby’s moveset, that should have been there from the start

I would of loved to see the dash attack be the water ability. Have Kirby surf on a small wave that crashes into opponents would be very appealing honestly The Jab combo i feel could've been the sword ability where he repeatedly swipes although the fighter ability works well here too. The leaf ability could've been a good neutral aerial too. The Up air could've been the tornado where it would act like megaman where a small tornado would shoot upwards. The down hair could be stone and he would plummet down into a ground as a stone; this would only happen if stone wasn't the down special. Neutral Special: Inhale (Needs to stay the same) Side Special: Wheel Dash (Turn Kirby into a huge wheel, charge up to make him hit harder and last longer) Up Special: High Jump (An ability that makes Kirby go upwards? of course that's an up special) Down Special: Cutter Boomerang (I feel it would be fine as a down special) Final Smash could be a lot of things. I love Ultra Sword but having Kirby jump into a robobot suit would be awesome. Maybe when Kirby jumps into the suit, there would be a wheel to choose what ability but that might be too much. But, what if Kirby jumped into the robobot armour and copied the Halberd, replicating the final boss fight in Planet Robobot? That would be so awesome you wouldn't believe it. Hypernova Kirby would be brilliant for a final smash as it represents him very well. Costume Ideas: Grey and Orange (Carbon spray paint from the amazing mirror and squeak squad) Purple (Grape spray paint from the amazing mirror and squeak squad) White (represent the cover of kirby's dreamland) Classic Kirby (Would be an alternate costume but wouldn't change much, just the face) Evil Kirby (Kirby's appreance when he got captured by the demon frog in the cartoon, only changes face) Also Pancakes

Ok another final smash idea. He could do a shorukin sending them upwards. Then start hitting you with 8 copy abbilitys. Why eight you might ask. Since all of his skins will join in and use one of the copy abbilitys. Ending with a final blow. The copy ability you get is random so dont worry. I did this since I love the mega sword final smash.

I personally like the idea of a Kirby moveset that can fight without Copy Abilities and calling back to Kirby's origins(see Fixing Kirby's Moveset on Archive of Our Own), Smash Bros. technically already is an Ability in Kirby&theAmazingMirror, Dream Collection, and Planet Robobot.

Great moveset, obviously much better than the current one we have, and does a much, MUCH better job at representing the Kirby series, and being more fun and interesting to play. Pancakes

This is just an idea for when you do the sonic moveset but I think most of his specials are fine, the only one that needs changing imo is side special which I would change to the lightspeed dash. It would work as a chargable dash that goes farther the more it is charged also it could be acted out of. Holding side b would have sonic spin in place. I agree though, some of his normals and aerials definitely need to be changed as well as his final smash, as it is now its too easy to dodge.

My favorite move you made for him was the D-Special

Nice work! I would make the forward special the burn ability. Kirby charges straight forward while engulfed in flames. Not only does it help his offensive play quite a lot, but it helps defensively as well. Kirby is completely immune to damage during the attack - allowing him to tank hits and hit back - and it can help him get back on the stage if he's knocked off. The downside is that the startup and endlag is a bit slow, making reckless use of the move easily punishable. I would keep the down special the rock ability but I would make the startup longer and the endlag shorter so Kirby can use it as a makeshift counter as well as a way to launch opponents.

What if certain fighters had a different copy ability? Fox couod be reflector, Luigi could be misfire, lucina is dancing blade, etc

Honestly... even though Kirby is my favorite Kirby character and I really want Kirbys Moveset to represent copy abilities this one doesnt really do it for me... I dont know what it is but its a big eh. Also his final Smash should be Warpstar/Goal Game instead of a gimmick in one game only. Regardless, good video and okay concepts. 🥞/10

your design cant just be all references and you need to have general understanding of how your character would feel as a character. I know you dont regard these kind of things but it should feel like your playing as the character and not a reference to them, bayonetta is a good example of this. another thing to take note of , unless in there home series another character is able to do the things they do,one character cannot have a character whos movesets would be a copy, you wouldnt put marios body on pirhana plants movesets, it just doesnt work. this is not a hate message by anymeans , not many people have the balls the share their opinion the internet but its something worth looking into for the next moveset is all im saying

I don't really like the idea of giving Kirby his copy abilities as different attacks. Kirby can only ever have one active at a time unless he gets rid of it and gains another one by using his Copy. Having him pull abilities out for every attack just puts extra emphasis on something i don't really think suits Kirby. I think it's barely manageable now due to how it's only restricted to specials (although how he used copy abilities for specials and is also able to copy a bunch of other characters who don't even exist in the canon I'll never know). He does reference things like the fighter ability in his normals but I feel those are fine due to how Kirby kicking without a copy ability isn't really unfeasible to imagine him doing. Taking that out of the equation, I really like this concept. I think it could be cool to give it to a character who it would make more sense for but it's really unique so the concept itself is really cool. Realistically though this is a fairly plausible overhaul.

I think most of these are solid suggestions but hi-jump is such an underwhelming ability that I'd probably replace it with something else. Since Bandana Waddle Dee isn't in Smash, maybe Kirby could borrow his spear helicopter move. also pancake
