OK dumb idea by the way tears of the Kingdom was my first game if anyone’s gonna judge me with this I think with hotshot it would be cool if they added more shrines and make it an upgrade availability which lowers the cool downtime and increases the range and speed
The voltage badge is supposed to be assymetric and be sporadic, because that's howbelectric sparks work. And lack of identity? Are we looking at the same badge? The sparks jumping out makes it special, the only thing I can give you is the smaller shape, which yeah, is pretty bad.
13:01 i think that medal tries to resemble a crystal ball that fortune tellers uses for read the future and the smoke is a representation of how Fortune tellers tell the future in other media. The desing is bad tho but i can see what they tried to make while desing it
I have more issues with the camera in odyssey then the one in 64, the one in odyssey can start slowly slipping away (it won’t anchor) and it moves in a way that messes with my eyes and makes me feel dizzy and because of that I can never play the game for longer then half an hour
Honestly I think Olympia’s badge works super well for a fortune teller; it’s a crystal ball with smoke coming out! I really appreciate Kalos’ deviation from traditional badge norms as there’s only so much you can do before it becomes samey. There’s so much more visual interest with the Kalos badges than most others. Also, Valerie’s is fairy wings and the symmetry of it adds to the idea as it’s a pair of wings rather than just one shape
I think also letting the feather brush slow your decent when rolling would be nice Definitely not too big of a slow down but enough to justify keeping most of your speed when falling
I definitely agree, I love platformers, 2D & 3D but I tried Mario 64 multiple times and I just couldn’t play most of it, not because of difficulty, but because it got kinda boring redoing the same level a lot of times. The controls were also not great and I agree with your critiques of them. people have a really strong bias towards this game and I guess I can’t blame them, it was revolutionary for it’s time, but people need to listen to reason honestly. The game has aged, it’s been 20+ years people. You can love a game and understand that it’s not perfect.
As a jhoto fan I don't understand how you can have issues with the hive badge or mineral badge, but you don't have a problem with the plain badge, the most boring badge in all of pokemon.
me before the video: none of them need reworked theyre all fine me after: .... oh. oh yeah okay i see Edit: HIGHKEY DISAGREE WITH THE KALOS BADGES THEY'RE SO PRETTY
I was watching this video late at night, as like a side thing while doodling, and 'I can't see you let me see you' caught me so off guard I may have woken up the entire house.
Kanto's badges represent the cities not the types of the gym leaders, in jp the badges are named after the colors the cities are known for. At least in gen 1, Gym leaders can be replaced, saffron city gym for example, had a fighting type Leader and was replaced by sabrina (psychic), I assume both gave the Gold badge (Marsh badge) which represents the "golden city of commerce". Viridian city gives the Green badge, "evergreen paradise" and Celadon City gives the Rainbow badge, "the city of rainbow dreams". Vermilion is known for its sunsets, and the badge is literally a sun! You could say only Brock, Misty and Blaine "follow a theme", I assume they want to represent their cities in a literal sense?) idk. I think badges representing the type of the leaders is what makes them lame in the first place, GF invented a formula and never looked back didn't they? Lumiose City badge being the tower instead of generic rays is a good example Fun fact: Blue (green in jp) became the Gym leader of the evergreen city, who would have thought? And he's not monotype? devs went a bit crazy there!
Honestly a cool alt for eggman would have to be his classic design his sonic boom design him in polkadot Jamas with green pants something that is a call back to his original designs and for fun something that references his design in the cartoon.
I liked Galar’s diversion from eight separate badges into “eight badges to make a whole”. I do agree the designs could’ve been way cooler, but just that step was awesome for me when I earned my first badge and realized what they were doing
Pretty sure the fairy badge was supposed to be fairy wings. They should have just made it more of a butterfly shape so it could be more square and narrow. I do have an issue with your mineral badge since the original was supposed to be a steel plate. The crystal doesn't give off the impression of steel. It would work better to have it be something that reflects the properties of steel like a cog for its use in industry, helmet for it's durability, or even a magnet just because it is a magnetic material.
