Kirk seems like such an easy going guy so if he gets mad at you for something you know you done fucked up!!

I’m not sure he’s mad at any one person, but mad at the situation and/or the gear malfunctioning.

When I grow up I want a Headset with "KIRK" written on the headset band!

It is his in-ear monitor that is either too soft or not working at all, that is why he is throwing it away.

His in the zone and is frustrating when some elements don’t function correctly during performance so yes he is in the zone and trying to comunícate during the show. Not furious.

I wouldn't say furious, I'd say just irritated. He doesn't act like a baby like James or Mustaine (for sure).

Unfortunately this is the price for making the stage look "clean" and "sterile" No amp backline means in-ears only. BTW, those stage wedges can't be heard with their ear buds in. They are just backups in case their in-ears crap out.

I don't see this as the case, the tech and other guys down below were laughing. I feel he was just upset with the tech and that he could not hear, etc. If you are out front and its going bad well your the one being looked at lol. He probably had a beer later and laughed it off, at the moment its high stress.

Guitar at 0:48 looks to be Greenie, Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac's original guitar from the 60s/early 70s that Kirk paid $2 million for. Has out of phase, vintage spec pickups when used in the middle toggle position. Not great for metal tones because certain frequencies are comb filtered out, but clean tones like in the Sanitarium intro can sound better. Reproductions of the guitar are made by Gibson, and Seymour Duncan does their version of the pickups. Just goes to show even low output vintage pickups can be juiced by preamps, in this case the Axe FX 3s they are running. His unhappiness here may also come from not having a good in-ear monitor mix and being unable to hear himself, because the mix sounds fine. The guitar isn't cutting out. I'm fairly sure big acts like Metallica have not only a dedicated FOH engineer but also a monitor engineer who is supposed to make sure each musician can hear themselves by having a mix to their own taste. He sure is using his Load era mummy guitar a lot these days. Since they do most standard tuned songs in Eb live now to make it easier for James to sing them, Kirk must use this guitar as a default. Most of Load/Reload were in Eb. James needs to bring back the wood grained Load ESP Explorer and Jagermeister stag guitars from back then. Wouldn't mind seeing the flamed and green flame Vs from that era, either. Kirk doesn't play his signature KH-3 spider ESP Les Paul copy with Floyd Rose much anymore, either. That was a common live guitar on Justice and some of Black.
