8:51 What I would give to see Kirk's sunshine smile when Spock reacted to seeing him alive, the genuine happiness and relief on Spock's face which, might I add, is perhaps the *only time* Spock has reacted anywhere near that way without being either possessed or otherwise influenced by something... We all know Kirk must be absolutely beaming, considering how Shatner acted affection for Spock under normal circumstances
No perhaps about it. I watched every episode of TOS as a kid. That was the ONLY time Spock totally lost his Vulcan logic feces and went full humantard. The ONLY time
@@emanuelemiorin1394 i think in the... 4th? Movie Spock smiles when they watch the... Humpback whales... (i remember like half of the movie and don't want to spoil to much)
He's human half human. And the fact that, all mortal beings have souls. Animals have souls too?! Or just things with feelings? Vulcans are not things, they are living breathing people from another planet. They're different from us, they have different body parts, but they are different form of people. Of the same supreme being. There's only one and there's only HIM.
@@emanuelemiorin1394 actually, he smiles many times. The episode when his emotions give in to the planets atmosphere after the crew visit a certain planet. The people living there where humans sent there years earlier and have achieved nothing due the atmosphere.
I remember in '68 and '69 my brother and I acting out the amok time fight scene. I was kirk, he was spock. We made our own lerpa(?). We used a spade. He damn near cut my legs off. Boy, that was great. 🙂👍
I just love the scene in the elevator when Spock says things will be a bit strange and distasteful and Kirk says 'Will I, you have been most patient with my kinds of madness! I should think he has Captain 😂
No body seems to be mentioning bad poetry lol Kirk. " comment, Mr Spoke?" Spoke. " Very bad poetry Captain" Lolololol i know probably not the funniest joke out of the season but yeah gold!
True. But I hated that episode. I've come to the conclusion that the Vulcan women were racist against "off-worlders." T'Pring didn't want to marry a half-human. But then she got scared Stonn would be killed, or perhaps she thought the threat of fighting Kirk would cause Spock to snap out of it and call off the wedding. In a sense he did, but only after Kirk appeared to die, which didn't make sense to me as Spock was dying unless he returned to Vulcan to mate. She should have been arrested for attempted murder. I'm afraid to see how they interpret her in the remake, _Strange New Worlds._ Note: 7 years earlier Spock was with Leila Kalomi on Earth. He couldn't show affection (in public) but maybe they got it on to get him through the Pon Farr, so he wouldn't have to return to Vulcan and take a wife he didn't want.
I love the fact that I have the entire TOS on DVD. I got it at Walmart for less than $50.0. One day I'm just going to make Jiffy Pop popcorn, a few bottles of Coca-Cola, and next best thing to Butoni Toaster Pizzas and binge watch Star Trek episodes like I did growing up. The only problem is I grew up watching Star Trek on a b&w television, so that technically is a minor setback being I'd be watching it all on a giant screen color television.
1:26 When you're playing a fantasy RPG and you meet what looks like an innocent character only for your elf friend to tell you they're the monster you're supposed to kill.
6:39 he's is going through so much yet he fights it all to make sure Kirk doesn't get hurt But when he fight him anyway his natural Vulcan instincts are in control ,his emotions, his choice of reason are hidden. So he fight Kirk. But as soon as he believes Kirk is dead he steps out of his episode. It wasn't because of the girl he was betrothed To.... He stopped because he thought he killed Kirk. Proven how hurt he was in 8:34 8:47 I think Kirk is the only person who will ever make him smile like that #spirk (no regrets)💛x💙
" Somebody is playing an elaborate Trick or Treat on us". "Trick or Treat, Captain ?". " Jim, you mean Spock knows nothing of Trick or Treat ?, Spock ?." " Please Doctor, ......i do not."
Amok Time is eerily close to a Catholic boy marrying into a Jewish family, except with less food. The food was very good for the survivor at the Jewish wedding. Does anyone wonder about Vulcan cuisine? When do they eat? What do they eat? They always look so thin. There was a commercial in the 60s, while the original Star Trek was on, where the alpha male impresses his date at a Chinese restaurant by ordering "flaming filet of Yak, Peking style". I always imagined the Vulcans eating very spicy Chinese food, even spicier than Thai. Flaming filet of Yak sounds about right.
@@percival7754 Show me a woman more adorable than Deborah Messing in the Wedding Guest. Or Deborah Messing in anything else. Or Barbara Streisand in What's Up Doc. Jewish women are very formidable. I mean, what Larry David said about the Lewinsky kerfuffle is apt, but you can't have everything.
