I’d be very surprised if someone said that DRV3 wasn’t the most depressing game out of the series... -The person you expected to survive until the very end turns out to end up being the chapter 1 killer -The 2nd Victim believed that they quite literally had no reasons to live, thus accepting death so easily -The 2nd killer is the PRIME MINISTER OF JAPAN!! -(Everything in chapter 3) -The Victim in chapter 4 wanted to escape because they truly believed that they could save the outside world -The 4th killer didn’t want anyone to see the outside world, so he became the blackened so that everyone except him dies and he has to live in the terrible outside world -The character who is believed to be the biggest douchebag actually just wants to beat the killing game even at the cost of his own life -The character that always spoke about trusting people and doing what is right ends up being the killer and dies because of an illness -Maki loses the person that she actually cared about for the first time -You find out Rantaro has been in another killing game before, meaning that he has gone through the same things more than once -Kiibo is the audience incarnate, his decisions aren’t his own, they are the viewers decisions. -Shuichi finds out that Kaede wasn’t supposed to die in the first place And the worst part is the fact that: -None of it was real, it was all fiction. Their entire existence was only made for the entertainment of people who wanted to watch them die...

Kirumi is one of my favourite characters. She’s severely underrated and has one of the most selfless motives in the whole series.

Kirumi is missing ONE thing for being a protagonist. An ahoge.

DRV3 spoilers Everyone who died in chapter 2 deserved better

I just imagined a scenario in my head... What if Kirumi told her motive before the voting and everyone would've voted wrong to help her save the country? And then, when everyone except Kirumi was dead... She would find out that the "country" she just killed everyone for... does not exist. Her people do not exist. All that was fake. Just imagine the dread she felt when she realized that she just killed innocent people for nothing. I really would like an alternative ending like this, it would've been so powerful.

Why are the chapter 2 killers and victims like some of the best characters in game??? Like think about it we have; Chihiro Fujisaki Mondo Owada Mahiru Koizumi Peko Pekoyama Ryoma Hoshi Kirumi Tojo And together they form C.M.M.P.R.K

Kirumi is actually a lot more complex than I thought but she kind of fits where she died in the game in the sense that she's a character that could have survived under different circumstances (Miu, Gonta, Kaede, Sayaka, Celeste Peko, Hiyoko, Rantaro, Ryoma, Tenko, and Angie)

I wanna see Kirumi get s pet because she would treat it like royslty snd thats an adorable image.

Tbh I hate people who are like "YOU NEED TO LIKE CHARACTERS WHO ARE IMPORTANT TO THE PLOT" but then hate on Iruma, no seriously without Iruma most of the cases would have been unsolved or just harder to solve also, Iruma who is an inventor (nothing to do with robots though from what I remember, she isnt a roboticist) she manages to upgrade a Robot she just met 2 seconds ago, which shows that she is really smart. Also unpopular opinion v3's survivors should have been; Kirumi, Angie, Miu, Shuichi, Kaito, Tenko, and Keebo. (I picked Angie and Tenko so we would see how they both grieve differently to Himikos death)

Okay, but... Kirumi and Ryoma are just Toriel and Sans. Polite, well-dressed mom and short blue man who we see as a skeleton.

Now I'm excited about this one because I want to find more people to talk to and simp for this beautiful maid right here. I believe in Kirumi Tojo Supremacy 😳

I dont understand why you made such a long and drawn out section in part 2 over a completely fanmade trial when we all know that kokichi was the true culprit, however this was a great analysis of the best v3 survivor.

That poll proves that a lot of people love hearing about people being passionate :^) it brings love and curiosity, but of course your video is more than that. There's a lot to say but it's 3 am, I want to comment now so this video reaches more people. A detail: Kirumi's hairstyle is lovely and the fact that your hairstyle back when you played v3 was also short is absolutely adorable.

Like I said, it's not that Kirumi's underrated (although I think she is), she's misunderstood. I really love her character and her motive was one of the best. She's the best culprit hands down, she performed the murder so well, as expected from the ultimate maid

Great vid, Aeris! About how Kirumi went about hiding the body, I think what she did didn’t necessarily dig her own grave the moment she decided to move the body. Kirumi was trying to obfuscate the actual murder scene to make the others think the murder happened in the gym instead of Ryoma’s lab. She even misled everyone into thinking this was the case and she was only thwarted starting from when Maki told her own opinions on it. Sure, the handcuffs gave it away, but Shuichi’s fear of the truth would’ve prevented him from ever figuring it out. Plus, she was also trying to hide the real time of death (something the Monokuma File kinda already did for her). Speaking of her murder, I’m impressed by how she went covering most of her bases; if it weren’t for the black fabric, the only evidence Shuichi could’ve used to declare Kirumi the blackened was the alibis for yesterday + abrasions on the windowsills. Even with the back route of alibis for nighttime, she was able to narrow down any accusation against her to circumstantial evidence, at best, with the only physical evidence being the culprit standing on the windowsill, which _could’ve been anyone_ at the time.

alright, I gotta admit. this video is pure perfection. with the sprites of you/your OC, you talking about my favorite v3 character and overall the editing. I always think kirumi is painfully underrated, and even during her execution all hope left was taken from her, after she went through all that pain climbing, yet with the determination she had she kept going, sad part is if the escape was real on the surface she probably would die of blood loss before she could make communication with anyone if they were in the outside world. I don’t regret clicking this video

Even tho Angie is my favorite character Kirumi is my favorite Culprit. I just love how much she "helps" in her own trial, for me , she was being very, very helpful during the trial. A lot of culprits tend to blend in until they are called out , or just say stupid things. But Kirumi its one of the students who are dictating the rhythm of the discussion. I really have no idea that it was her until the last moment , and I loved that.

Love the “everyone’s favs are valid. Unless it’s Kokichi, then fuck you” attitude. Doesn’t get grating or annoying at all.

I was drawn to her character because of the perseverance in her execution. When she’s climbing up the rope with the thorns at lighting speed and the spikes come in she has a look of sadness and I can relate. Like at that point why? I would of just let go and died but she did not she keep climbing and even got to the end before dying. Her death says a lot about her and that’s why she is one of my favorite.

Man I always loved Kirumi. She was like the older sister I've always wanted. I don't really blame her for what she did because she had to for the sake of her citizens. Just seeing her execution was brutal. Her desire and dedication for others was her downfall. I will miss her deeply.

AAHH i love and agree with this video a lot as a kirumi kinnie and simp. i see so many potential in her character, really. she’s so kind to her classmates (even in the UTDP) and i’m so glad you pointed that out!! i was smiling the whole time watching her supporting hope’s peak students. sometimes when a character went off they seem to be forgotten later in the later chapters and that’s really sad though

I’m glad to see some light shed on a character that not many people talk about and who definitely deserves more attention. Great video, Aeris!

HEEHOO PRETTY MAID

Honestly… chapter 2 of V3 made me distributed and sad at the same time- I really liked Kirumi and Ryoma, both of their deaths were very *VERY* distributing, Kirumi’s Motive would just make me feel understandable, the way that her acted of killing Ryoma went…

Kirumi’s execution is actually based on an old story where a demon helps a spider so he gets a spider web dropped down for him to climb out, all the other demons began to climb below him he shouted down telling them all that it was “all mine and only mine get offor it will break!” Him doing this caused the sipder web to snap and he fell back down and due to him being the furthest up when he fell he could not longer move while the other demons were still free enough to move so he suffered more still being conscious but couldn’t move. This is why I love her executions symbolism the spider webs on her design being reference to the kind thing the demon did, aswell as the web he climbed. Her motive being neutral just like the demons behavior. And lastly how desperate they both were and their important reasons, Kirumi willing to climb a rope of throns and being cut to escape. The demon whom was willing to deny freedom for others in order to climb out, both their motives were important, the demons reason is escaping hell and Kirumi’s reson being the entire population of Jaoan.

Monokuma actually saying Kirumi’s name leading into her punishment (“Now, I’ve a very special punishment, for Kirumi Tojo, The Ultimate Maid.”), instead of forcing the player to read that segment, only further cements that she’s a bit different than other characters. Between her retaliating, running and fighting for her even during the 8-bit execution segment was nauseating, and much more true to how a lot of people would try to come to grips with their impending death. It was refreshing and it certainly makes her feel more real than just her 2D character portraits. I think this video gave me a new appreciation for Kirumi, so good vid, AERIS! You always outdo yourself

Honestly your reaction to case two was my reaction to case four. I absolutely refused to believe Gonta was the killer until it was shoved in my face, I was adamant that Kokichi had to be the culprit until I finally accepted it was impossible, then I had to stop playing for the rest of the day and cried myself to sleep. Gonta was personally one of my favourite characters and I was certain he’d make it to the end because I thought even under coercion I thought he’d never hurt a fly.

Something people forgot is that you HAVE to find the body in order to host trial while I don’t know why she had to do it like that she could of put his body in Himiko’s lab or something but then she’d have to wait for them to find the body without her directly leading them to it cause then they would’ve knew something was up-

As someone who Kirumi *isn't* my favorite character, I was surprised you left this out. Kirumi isn't necessarily important to the plot per se, but she is important to the *overall theme and tone* of V3. For me, and I think for most people playing V3, the moment when her motive is revealed makes you freeze and go like, "Wait... maybe we shouldn't have gotten this right." With such a big, sympathetic motivation, it's hard to feel anything negative towards her, despite killing Ryoma. Kaede was really sad and tragic, but you could make the case that she could've done something else, that she could've avoided surrendering to the killing game and come up with some sort of solution... etc. Kirumi, however, you look at her given "motive" and just go... "Damn, yeah, I can see why sacrificing all your classmates is a viable option." Kiyo is the most unsympathetic of any of the murderers, and coming immediately after Kirumi helps to sorta lessen the impact of what feels like a horrible tragedy that shouldn't have happened. But almost all the murders have some tragic motive element to them, Kirumi's probably the worst of them all. Her progressively more undignified, more desperate attempts to avoid being executed, culminating in attempting to flee like a madwoman, are indeed excruciating to watch. Honestly, even though I didn't want her to die, I do think that her motive and given backstory really helped her character. "Being a maid who serves people" was pretty uncompelling, and the little bits of personality that showed through in her free time events helped make her a character *and* a maid, but "the true culmination of the Ultimate Maid and ultimate serving of others" that is serving an entire country helps her really be a *maid character* who exemplifies why exactly it's so important to her. Taken to the logical extreme of "true devotion" is a very smart move. Throughout all of V3, these sympathetic motives and these tragic characters really begin to hammer in: "This is a fucked up situation, and this *shouldn't be happening* ." The characters deciding to try to end the killing game for good is ultimately a cumulation of all the horrible things that happened, all the lies that were given to each character, and hammering in how unjust the situation is. Kaede shouldn't have died. Gonta shouldn't have died. Kaito and Kokichi shouldn't have died. I mean, fuck Kiyo, but literally everybody else had motive or character that is really hard to look at and be like, "Yeah, this person *deserves* to die." The fact that it was a lie specifically intended to make someone kill someone else purely for entertainment value is *monstrous.* But yeah. Those are my thoughts. Kirumi was sorta shell-shocking to me while playing, and even though she wasn't really talked about again in-game, I think the ripple effects of her role and her execution can be felt through the rest of V3. The fact that it's so fucking sad and fucked up is I think really important to V3, and without Kirumi, it probably still would've been a good game, but it likely would've been less powerful.

oh wow, i didn't know that kirumi doesn't like to be called a mom. i kind of relate to her response when people think highly of you and create a fake relationship because of it, and it hurts to realize it. she's actually one of my favorite characters.

Honestly I think when it comes to favorites, our justification for liking those characters can only get us so far. I won't pretend that somebody liking a particular character for particular reasons can't say something about that person, sometimes good and sometimes bad, but ultimately logic is irrelevant. The reason you like Kirumi really can just be "hee hoo pretty maid" or, as you've demonstrated, can be because you find her character compelling and it made an honestly good impression on you. This is coming from somebody whose favorite character is Chihiro, another character who died early and whose contriBUTIONS ARE SUPER IMPORTANT DESPITE NEVER BEING RECOGNIZED- Wait... I was talking about Kirumi... Anyway, my point is that Maid is Good and Lying Bastard Child is Dumb and that you did a good video justifying why you loved a character even though you didn't have to. Now take a cookie 🍪.

I hope you're not bothered by the fact I'm commenting multiple times (Tell me if that's the case) but ever since I viewed this video I started to appreciate Kirumi and think about her some more. I'm starting to think how would the main story go if Kirumi wasn't the 2nd culprit and if she basically replaced Maki for example. Honestly I think her presence would've had a greater impact in comparison to Maki if she survived, considering she was one of the fewest characters who was patient with other cancerous characters like Miu (that I like) and Kokichi who was most integral within the killing game. Kirumi is probably smarter than Maki and definitely would be less problematic to deal with in comparison, IMO, though there would be lots of changes for Shuichi's development considering I doubt Kirumi would do exercises like how Maki and Kaito used to with Shuichi. Also, I'm pretty sure she could have been able to positively influence a little characters like Kokichi or Miu who aren't exactly liked by the rest of the cast and she'd definitely be of comfort to them. The more I think about her, and the more I realized that she had tremendous potential that the writers *completely* screwed up. Heck, she probably would've been the one inspiring the other survivors not to despair on the last class trial alongside K1-B0, though I can imagine how heartbroken she could feel if she learned about the outside world's conditions (though it was all fake). I had some positive opinions over Kirumi before, but after this video, which truth be told a good part of it is based on your opinion, I can really feel just how much you love this character and you're transmitting the love you feel for her to me as well. Like, damn, that's the most impressive thing I've ever experienced on YT. The way you literally opened your heart about Kirumi is just so amazing. I hope you're proud of yourself!

ironically, my favorite is actually Ryoma Hoshi even tho he's also not as important story wise. Ryoma's death made me really sad and uncomfortable (though its kinda more of a squick) but I heavily relate to his themes of depression and stuff. His design isnt conventional, but it's adorable! His story is so tragic you (general you) cant help but feel at least a little sympathy. I think because of that his days in the killing game were numbered anyways, but I always wonder how things would have gone if he pushed through and survived a little longer. -Also his voice gives my gender envy i want it so bad.-

it's tragically ironic that ryoma was looking for his life to serve a purpose, and that purpose ended up being to serve as a means for kirumi to escape. even if that didn't work for her in the end.
