Complete Acoustic Set hold at Arena Verona - Italy on 11th June 2015, with an entertaining Paul Stanley between songs ... and a beautiful Beth sung by Eric.
Not sure why everyone is complaining. I always enjoy this stuff. I don’t expect him to sound like he’s still 25. And the people who were there for sure enjoyed it so saying things like “wow they charged these people” Well all those people sound like they had a blast seeing KISS so who are you to make assumptions. Go make your own band
Jesus, six minutes in before they even play a song, that has to be a record. I know they just fuck around and secretly laugh about charging people $1000 to come to these shitshow acoustic gigs but six minutes of fucking around at the start of a 37 minute gig (16% of the total time) takes the cake.
Eric & Tommy are a part of the Kiss family. Yes the original 4 is what we will cherish and love forever. But Eric and Tommy have earned their place in Kiss. Great musicians and wouldn't have anyone else to fill those shoes of Ace & Peter.
bel video! una curiosità se posso, come si fa ad accedere al live acustico? immagino sia compreso nel biglietto tipo Vip? lo hanno fatto il pomeriggio prima del concerto?
Think of it…. Imagine telling the Hottest Band in the World which song to play next. Really put a personal spin on the group individually because Paul and Eric seem like the coolest guys.
+ Chris Elswick I think you've missed the point of this little get together. this is intended to be just a quick sit down and play a couple of songs that the fans yell out. the whole point of this was not to be staged and not to have a set list.
Nice catch and you’re right, but I don’t think it’s a reason to point it out as if the guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. That’s how it is. If your guitar was half a step lower and somebody said “Give me a G#” would you immediately go for an open A chord?
must have perfect pitch really cool for pointing that out. obviously it’s to give Paul any extra leverage I’ve heard Don Dokken do the same. which is another whose not quite up to par these days.
I do have perfect pitch actually haha. And of course it's for Paul, and I mean there's nothing wrong with that, I mean to me it doesn't sound the same, and it doesn't sound as good in this tuning as opposed to their original tuning but it's still KISS. I get that Paul's struggling I mean he's been singing and belting for 45 years, it happens.
As a Kiss fan since the 1970's...I know longer see them live anymore because they are just the same old routine show. Now if they toured like this I would step right up for my ticket! This kind of reminded of me when i saw them at the official Kiss Konvention right before the reunion and putting the makeup back on. Tour like this and call it a Kiss Rarities tour as kind of a sendoff before they do officially hang it up. Obviously they still know and love their rare material.
Can i get a decent performance with that fun sunny day? I mean hell id accept this if it was some behind the scenes in the hotel rehearsal shit lol. Id be PISSED if i paid.
To think that fans pay extra hard earned cash to see these acoustic sets... and all they get is a bunch of unmotivated, bored, fed up stars who don't remember how to play their songs.
"Love Her All I Can" by Wicked Lester at 12:54. This was as close to the Wicked Lester vibe I've seen Kiss get. Tommy gets enough of that solo right. Also 26:50 See You Tonite, didn't catch the My Sweet Lord in there before.
Ironic how the band that used to shit on artists who performed in their street clothes while sitting on stools... Are now performing in street clothes sitting on stools. This is the sound and look of four guys (or at least the two oldest guys) going through the motions to cash a pay check.
I get where you're coming from but that's like an acoustic thing separate from their actual show. It's a chance to play more than what their set allows them so I don't think it to be that bad.
Drummer is not terrible but they need ace and they need to tune a step down so the notes can be hit without straining to try and hit them. They can't hit the high octaves anymore and they need to realize that. I like kiss and I personally think that if they did tune down for live performances they would sound a lot better and the crowd sizes would be even bigger than they are!!
Ace Frehley wants nothing to do with Kiss anymore... so stop saying they need Ace. Ace has been out of the band longer than he was in it. Eric Singer is more adept for this kind of music than Peter ever was. Peter and Ace are part of Kisstory so let's move on shall we?
+adward1118 They are already down on Standard D...und they never needed ace...if they needed someone then it would be Bruce Kulick...I would Love it if the would make the Same step as Maiden did and get Bruce as a Third Guitarist
+Frank Patek I just wonder why he keeps on doing it, his voice clearly has deteriorated so much, and that is perfectly understandable due to how he was pushed it for decades. I don't know what kind of beef Stanley had with Eddie Trunk, but Trunk raised quite a few points over this problem.
Matteo Prezioso I assume because he loves it...I love what he's done, he totally influenced my music and writing, but I can't listen to Paul's voice anymore.
Frank Patek I agree, and I really meant no disrespect. But when this gets blown up out of proportions, and all you read online about Kiss is Stanley's vice gone, well you can't just risk their legacy and all that. Maybe he should address this problem, and at least take a break. The guy's been screaming for decades for christ' sake, there is an obvious reason behind all that.
+Matteo Prezioso I mean let me just point out that in this video its not as bad. what is long as people are going to pay to listen to him, he's going to continue to sing.
I enjoyed it, but the sound could have sounded crap because it was recorded on someone's phone. I was more interested in what those two dudes in the back in the last couple minutes were chatting about until Stan Lee at the very end came by and broke up the conversation! Nice cameo Stan! ^_^
All the parts Paul used to sing alone with power and melody he now has Eric and Gene singing for him while he's choking out the words in his hoarse whisper. Sad.
As a musician myself and a kiss fan this type of performance if you can even call it that, is a double edged sword. On one end, you're basically charging for a rehearsal session which is cool when you are getting paid to just mess around but on the other hand it's risky when you Clearly have musicians that don't practice (except for Eric, who is so good he catches on fast) outside of the normal set list songs. Because you come off amateurish and slightly disrespectful to the fans who paid to see a performance but only got 4 guys lazily messing around
Because they are a shell of their former glory. They dont make good music anymore. They are in it strictly for greed now. They were my favorite band for decades now I dont even bother with the same rehashed crap anymore. They should have retired years ago with dignity...
+Patrick Simmons I just discovered KISS recently and I really like Paul's voice - from years before. It now sounds different. Do you think he realizes it? Do the others point it out to him? If they are already rich then why would greed cause them to continue at their age?
Cher Cher Paul was to me the greatest front man in rock history. He's lost his edge and its ok. He's in his 60s now its expected. Stick to classic KISS and enjoy a great experience...
+Patrick Simmons Thank you, Patrick. I will do that. (By the way - he does a live performance - here on RU-vid with KISS in 1992 Kiss "Ritmo De La Noche" of "Heaven's on Fire" and "I Was Made for Lovin You" and I think his voice and performances are great! Nice chatting!
