Paul is such a modest man particularly about his guitar playing. He is incredibly skilled and talented and what he does works. Amazing guitarist, singer and songwriter. He also seems like a very nice and caring person with some great safety advice that must be heeded during this unprecedented and sad time.
He’s an amazing talent. His life story of how he overcame deafness in one ear and being made fun of by other kids to be a true Rock God is one for the ages!
Pauls voice is great now he's rested, and more proof he's the solo guy behind Kiss. Anyone else were just following Pauls amazing musical guidance. Thank God Ace got a mention in a positive way.
Uhh...no. His stage voice hasn't been able to last through two verses for nearly 15 years. That's why it's faked. *"Prerecorded lead vocals, baby! That's what I've got. Let's pretend together. No, that's not snot."*
You seem like a real kiss fan i have always thought that ace and paul were the kiss sound when paul sang on aces solo cover fire and water to me it sounded like original kiss more then anything since love gun whats your thoughts on that?
@@tontoepstein6860 the guy is 70 wonder if you’ll be able to even attempt a two hour show in platforms at that age or will you be eating apple sauce in a nursing home? but honestly if you hate kiss why are you watching this? Is there a joy in insulting there fans? That makes it worth your time? Are just bored and want to piss people off? Did paul bang your girl back in the 80s? Im not trying to insult you just curious as to the motivation ? have good day My brother
@@Ohionortheast Stanley's voice us shot, what you now hear on stage are prerecorded vocals that were recorded many years ago and/or more recent prerecorded vocals that were manipulated and altered in the studio to make them sound tolerable when Stanley pretends to sing them in a live setting.
No Paul, this isn't stupid, it's actually cool. This reminds me of VH1 "Storytellers". We love hearing the stories behind the songs. Please keep em coming!
These "fireside chats" are so generous and insightful Paul. You seem to be a virtual music historian and I love all of the back stories, playing, singing and recollections. I hope to hear more - Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
Paul Stanley, one of the few who admit his limitations and how we as musicians use others music for inspiration. Very secure in his place in history. Rock on!
This was my favourite Kiss song of all. Thanks for doing this. I sadly lost all of my original Kiss albums in a flood a short while back which was gut wrenching but I did get to see you play this live in Toronto before all the COVID craziness hit. I hope you come back!
Paul, you and the boys gave me many good childhood memories. At 12 and 13 years of age Kiss was my favorite band in the whole world! I was nearly the only black kid that I knew that would openly admit to listening to rock and loving Kiss! My 13th birthday my mom bought me Kiss “Destroyer” on 8 track. Man I wore that thing out. Thanks!
That was my first record too. I got it for my birthday when I was 11 years old. I played it all the time. I was in the Christchurch Cathedral Choir and we did a tour for a week singing in different parts of the south island. I played it at the back of the bus we travelled on the whole time over and over again. There were many requests from the kids to play it. The choir master was not impressed but all the kids in the choir loved it.
You are not alone in the Black sense, me too from age of 14 I am 62 now and me and about three friends all black only listen to rock, we filmed Kiss at the Omni in Atlanta with 8mm film took it home and played it on the wall listening to Kiss. Now a Die hard Rush fan RIP Peart, they opened for Kiss that night. Music is a rainbow of colors not just Black and White. If anyone Black gives you shit about listening to rock, ask them about looking at Tom Cruise, and all the other White actors movies. Rock on dude BTW Bush is the shit too.
"Sometimes your limitations are your best friend." Just what I needed to hear today. I'll carry that forward. Thank you for that and all your years of pioneering rock n roll.
Yeah, dude!! Totally!! When he said that I looked to Heaven and... Because I really struggle with my limitations as well (we all do, right?) so that sentence is really inspiring, huh?!
You can hear Paul's influences in his playing! 👩 📻📻 🎸 🔲🔲

Paul admitted he also loved The Yardbirds, one of Jimmy Page's bands before forming Led Zeppelin. Just off the cuff, my uncle when he was alive had a resemblance to Robert Plant (and he played guitar in a band before getting drafted during the Vietnam War). Just wanted to mention that.
I work in hospital Paul. 5 days a week I walk into every sick person rooms in hospital to feed them. I walk into all areas of hospital, even those ones that are infected and contaminated. I hope you, your friend's, family, your fans will stay safe during this pandemic. Lot's of love from nhs
Paul's writing and arrangement on his KISS songs is phenomenal. Brilliant song writer. Man so many great anthems. Love all of Paul's output. Stay safe everybody. Wash your hands from all surfaces you touch.

I remember in an Ace interview, Ace said that Paul is a fantastic song writer. I totally agree.
Paul, this was absolutely NOT stupid. Thank you so much for inviting us into your home and sharing the story of the song with us. Please DO post more of these and your comments and advice at the end are very well said. Take care, Sir. And God Bless from Mississippi. :)
So cool.. Used to hang out in Cunningham Park in Queens, that park was connected to my old school IS74.... Loved Kiss growing up cause they were the "local band"
When I hear Paul like this it is like listening to an old friend. I have been listening to KISS for decades, which is why it seems so familiar to me. Good to see you, Buddy. All the best for you too, Paul. :-) Tommy
"Making the most of what I have, and forgetting about what I don't" As a 30+ year guitar player, (inspired by you and Ace), This is probably the best advice I have ever heard. Wish I had heard it when I first started playing, but I am taking it to heart now. Thanks Paul! Love ya Brother!
Wow Paul, you still got the magic in those fingers and the harmonies in your voice. Love every one of your songs, including Love Gun and God Of Thunder, classic masterpieces. You are and always will be our Rock N Roll brother. I hope you're okay and safe like the rest of us. And don't worry brother, you're not alone. KISS FOREVER!!! 😝🤘🏻🎸
After all these years, Paul still has the ability to play and sing. Ace’s skills, on the other hand, have seriously deteriorated and he’s just coasting off of past fame. To be honest, Ace’s guitar playing sounds pretty terrible. People still try to tell him his guitar playing is great, even though it’s extremely sloppy and virtually unlistenable compared to his playing in his younger days.
Thanks Paul! This was great! I love hearing the back stories of songs. Please keep doing this. Love you and KISS forever! I'm 50 yrs old and started listening to your Detroit Rock City Vinyl album at at 8. It was my older brother's album. Bern a fan ever since. Raised my 14 yr old daughter up with listening to KISS so of course you are her favorite rock band now too. She's seen 3 shows and we were at your last one in Charlotte. Speaking of Love Gun....I remember the paper pop gun in my brother's Love Gun album. Wish he still had it. Stay Safe, God Bless♥️

oh shut up. This guy has no worries. He can afford to do this shit. It means nothing! If the guy really wanted to help people, he could donate $$$ to people who need it.
@@JimA-pp2nu , what have you done??? I have seen Kiss pay for a veteran's home. They do more than you think. Do your research before speaking otherwise, you come across as an uneducated knucklehead.
Not sure how this ends up in my RU-vid algorithm, but this was surprisingly really enjoyable to listen to. I hate celebrity videos most of the time especially now with the virus, but this felt genuine and was interesting to listen to. Never thought I’d say this but thanks Paul Stanley.
Paul, Over the years, Ive really grown to understand how you have always been the heart and soul of the band. Gene has been up and down but if not for you, kiss fades away at some point in your storied history. thank you for sharing this clip. stay healthy and keep doing what you do. loyal kiss army since 76... dg
I've met him, he isn't. I am an old kiss fan but he's a not, not at all. Enjoy the videos, I am but no he's not a nice dude, trust me. Read his book, he trashes everybody. Anyone. Period.
Sir, I have been a fan since the ‘70’s! Your music surrounds the best memories of my life. Love you and the band. I hope one day I can finally get an autograph. Love that guitar too. Be safe and well. MLLHR!
Paul, thank you for the decades of great music that you provided KISS and music fans all over the world! I have been a KISS fan since "Double Platinum", which my Mom bought for me in the third grade. I have been to several great KISS shows over the years. My two most memorable concerts were: 1.) December 1987 Crazy Nights Tour - The Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA; and 2.) May 1992 Revenge Tour - The Trocadero, Philadelphia, PA. People might think I am crazy, but I really enjoyed the non-makeup era of KISS. Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick were great additions to the band. Eric, in particular, was one of the great rock drummers of all time. He's sorely missed! Thank you, Paul!!
He has a great feel. Very underrated, often just thought of as a singer. Great rhythm player and 2nd lead player doing all the great harmony parts. Detroit Rock City is one of my favorite harmony guitar parts and a very early influence. I still have the first 6 original vinyl albums from the 70’s. I remember sitting in my room at 13 in 1976 learning these tunes.
@@ckramer1964 .I took a dive out the windshield during a head on crash while jamming to Detroit rock city. damn we were so stoned but we also survived.
I truly enjoy hearing the history and inspirations of songs we have come to love...I can picture us sitting with him in a room and just listening to his stories... thank you Paul!!! STAY SAFE PEOPLE 🤘
I saw Paul and the gang almost a month ago March 9 in my home town El Paso tx the man still got it awesome show Paul keep on doing these video there entertaining and we forgot for awhile what's going on in this world 🙏
Thank you so much Paul for the years of incredible music that led to many great times & memories as well as for taking the time to hang out with us & open up your personal space at such a hard time in this thing we call life. Great share & message.
Very encouraging Paul! Thanks so much for sharing important aspects of some your iconic songs and the common sense advice! Always my favorite Kiss member and just favorite people period.
Been a fan since 1974!!! You always take time for us and I always loved that about you!! I am retired US Army living in Germany!! See you in Frankfurt, Germany 10 July
Love the video Paul. It is absolutely true what you are saying! Sucks but needs to happen to get through this difficult time in our lives! And keep on with all the years of Rockin the world with great Music! God bless America, and God Bless KISS!
I love Paul Stanley IM TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING HE CANT SING ANYMORE …. LETS SEE HOW GOOD THEY SOUND AT 68. HE'S STILL FREAKING AWSOME... THANKS 4 ALL YOU'RE HARD WORK PAUL.... YOU STILL GOT IT....
Paul, you should start your own channel. You would have a lot of followers. I enjoyed this video. Please, keep doing them. I have made it a point to watch channels which do these. I have been a Star Child, Eric Carr, Bruce Kulick, Ace & KISS fan for as most of my 53 years of life. I would only listen to your songs. I did buy each of your single albums. People didn't care much for 'The Elder' album, but I did. Thank you, for speaking about the seriousness of the COVID-19 & for the years of music!! Stay safe & healthy.
Wow! Paul! ...you’r an inspiration! Always been a fan of how must energy you’v got. You’r the reason I start playing 🎸guitar and formed a rock band in early 80-81 ( I was then 13) This video upload you must continue!!!🤜🏻 so cool and intersetning to listnen to you and your 🎸story around your ideas and how songs started out! We all have to keep faith and hope for this «Corona times» to end! Wish a the best for all! From Norway🇳🇴
Take notice people, what a class act as some of the other fine folks mentioned. No politics or bullshit from this man. Thank you Paul for the video and your positivity. pretty cool to say the least, didn't wake up today and expect to see Paul Stanley on here, Best wishes to you and your family.
Erik, I agree totally. Every time I see this guy interviewed, or whenever he pontificates on anything, even briefly he just speaks common sense and all so humbly. There's a reason he's still at the top today.
I was a 16 yr old kid from Pasadena and the first concert I ever saw, was KISS. It was at the LA Forum with 16,000 fans in 1976. My jaw dropped and I was forever a fan of live concerts and live music. Thanks Paul
Enlightened Rogue I saw Aerosmith at the Big “A” about the same time! I remember they were having some kind of technical difficulty at the start of Dream On. A pissed-off Tyler screams at the audience, “you didn’t want to hear that fucking song anyway”....the crowd started BOOING....
I love hearing the stories and learning how songs and music come together from artists. Especially when it's one of my ALL TIME EVERY TIME FAVORITES !!! Mr. Paul Stanley... Kiss has been in my life since 1977, I was 5... My 1st concert in Houston, Tx. Love Gun Tour. I was terrified seeing all these people with painted faces walking around. I didn't have a clue about Kiss. My uncle and 2 cousins did. I was put on my uncles shoulders and then.. Explosions, smoke, fire, and the roar of the crowd. I almost squeezed my uncles head off when they hit the stage... Lol Kiss fan from the start and still to this day! I believe 4 or 5 shows since 1977...
How fantastic is this? A personal lesson with one of the greatest. Thank you Paul and the rest of the KISS members for decades of fantastic music and entertainment.
Ya know, every once in a long long while, a "celebrity" actually knows their shit and knows what they're talking about. Very loosely a Kiss fan, but respect meter for Paul Stanley just went up infinite%. He entertained, he informed and all while I felt like I was listening to a well respected great uncle. Way ta go Paul, you're an angel.
Thank you Paul for doing these videos. As a musician I love to hear the stories that inspired you to write some of my favorite songs. Bless you and your family ....We love ya man!!

Thanks for sharing Paul!!! Saw KISS the first time back in 1978 in Memphis Tennessee. One of the BEST concerts ever!!!!! Hearing those "riffs" brought chills!

Thank you paul for posting this little video ....been looking forward to it all day and you made my nite....cant go out since all the bars and restaurants are closed and going a little stir crazy but this actually helped....take care and I really hope to see you guys again in September...love ya
Thanks for still entertaining us even in these troubled times..makes staying in a little easier for those who can't get out of the house..and for those like myself that are truck drivers we may have to be out in this mess but we try to stay in the truck and mingle as little as possible ..and it's great to have something to keep us going as well.. So to the most one of a kind voice in Rock n roll ...thank u Paul
Paul Thank You for the sensible words and inspiration for togetherness even through this isolation. Very intimate and inspiring. Keeping the love alive
Thank you, Paul for taking the time to do these videos and for sending out a message to do the right thing. Would love to be a fly on the wall while you play and explain these great songs. Been a fan since the mid 70's. Love ya. Stay healthy.
Paul- Such a great message, from such a respectable, and far-reaching role model!! I have seen many celebrities post similar messages lately, and as someone taking this situation seriously, I am ecstatic to see you urging your followers to take precautions as well!! We rock/metal-heads can be quite stubborn, so hearing it straight from someone like you goes a long way!! On another note, my wife and I were at your show for an overnight trip without the kids around a month ago, and it was just the best 24 hours we've spent in a long time!! The venue was great, the show was amazing, the surrounding area was great, and just when we were getting into our car to leave the hotel the next day, and things already couldn't get any better, we bumped into Gene!! All four of you, and your whole crew, and everyone involved just completely destroyed our expectations, and when you fellows come back to the states, my wife and I are already planning an even longer road trip, and will see you there!! Thanks again for everything!! BTW, I just started "Face The Music." : )
This felt genuine and heartwarming. I used to write rock songs in my youth, so it’s kinda magical to see your heroes just chilling and sharing experiences with you. Thank you so much for that.
" YOU WANT THE BEST, YOU GIT THE BEST, THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD KISS!!!!"😁😁😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I love Paul Stanley. And I love it when they tell stories and it makes me have a better understanding of what they talk about these days. 🙂🙂🙂🤗 "How I got into KISS" I've been a fan for maybe 2 years and I watched a movie called "Detroit Rock City" and at the ending part, I saw the band and I listened to the song called "Detroit Rock City" and when the song was over, I told my Dad that they sound really good. Then I started listening to their other music and they were really awesome and I downloaded the songs that I listened to. I listened to them every day and I told myself that these songs make me feel like a rock star and when I jam out to the songs, I feel like I want to become a member of the band. I've been dreaming that I was at a KISS concert and I was so happy. Then I dreamed that I met all of the members of the band and I cried so much. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️So I keep crossing my fingers that I will meet the band I will go to a KISS concert. My Dad sometimes tell me to keep dreaming and it will come true. Love you so much KISS 😍😍😍😍stay safe and keep making songs.
Hell Yeah Paul! It's really cool to get u making videos like this talking 'bout stuff of your life. Keep doin' and we'll keep waiting for more... Thanks and Cya!
In tough times like this, more than ever...people need to have their spirits lifted!! THANK YOU SO MUCH Paul, for reaching out to your fans, and cheering us up a bit!! This virus may be keeping folks locked down… But music and rock ‘n’ roll will always be in our hearts! GOD BLESS YOU!... and thanks again Paul Stanley!! ❤️⭐️❤️
Thanks Paul for sharing some time with us. Take care and stay safe. Many thanks to you and the rest of the band for getting me through some of the hardest times in life
This is awesome! Please do more! I would love to hear the stories about some of the deeper cuts as well like Mr. Speed, Magic Touch, Tomorrow, or Exciter. This could be a whole series! Thank you for this.
james blankenship that just kinda shows he’s trying to work it that’s why he’s probably lip syncing most of the tour so that he could give his voice a little bit of rest so maybe now would be a good time for him to work on it
In addition to the fact that this pure, raw and above all beautiful recording of Paul gives us an interesting insight into the creation of songs and the way in which he composed them, this is above all a very clear warning to everyone who still does not take the COVID-19 seriously. what a great movie, Paul. Blessing to ya All!
