When Gene started the idea of his own reality TV show he had cameras from Extra follow his family around. He then pitched the show and it was picked up by A&E.
Say what you want about Gene and Shannon (and people will) but I think that they were terrific parents. Not once did I ever hear or see Nick and Sophie get into the kind of trouble that most other celebrity kids have that was shown by all of the media and tabloid outlets. I remember one episode where Gene tell Sophie that her and Nick's job was not working outside of the house but to go to school, do their homework and sleep and he was opposed to them drinking and smoking. Sounded to me that despite their reputation, they raised two wonderful and level-headed children.
I bet Gene couldn't stand seeing the Osbourne's show and not cash in on that. I'm glad that he did. His kids seem like such good people. It was nice to "get to know them" on TV.
Gene's kids n lady is much more respectful than the Osborne's by a long shot n I do like Oz but the family when they was younger NO n shows why he loved alcohol n drugs lol
And in retrospect, we learn that the many fundamentalists calling him some real demon were right...except this demon really is a family man who has never done drugs or drinks.
Gene is a smart man. When you live in his shoes with the type of work he does, you better have a pre nuptial at least. I’m still for marriage if I’m going to live that long with a women and have kids. But if I was as rich as he I would protect it for sure. My wife and I made our money building homes like Genes for the wealthy in the Houston area. Still building. But she worked as hard as me in the accounting department. So I see it half hers to be fair. I don’t chase strange women like Gene does. I’m a one woman man. But I have had my share of the fun when I was young. Rock on Gene!!!
