How about a blood jaguar space marine? They have an aztec theme going on and are succesors of the flesh tearers. I love all these videos, I learn a lot from them
How about something for Fabius Biles upcoming legion? I'd love to convert an army themed around his experiments and such. I imagine it will be mostly made of Obliterators and Possessed, but he'll need to basic troops as well.
Thinking of doing something like this to a deathwatch assault marine for my friends deathwatch game since im a assault marine in the deathwatch that is a minotaur
I’ve got to say- that is my favorite of all the conversions that I’ve ever seen you do. I’ve always thought about making a small Minotaur squad , but as far as I recall, Forge World only made 2, perhaps 3 character models (which were beauties, don’t get me wrong), but of course you don’t want all of your troops looking just like the 3 standout characters. Great ideas here, and thanks for the Conversion World suggestion! And your model looks incredible. Thanks again, my friend!
@@AshleyBlackwater Could be worth a try, but of their 4 characters in total one is "just" a normal Devastator as of now, another is a Dreadnought, and the other two are the chapters Reclusiarch and Chaptermaster respectively. Standout characters for sure, but maybe not the kind of you take on a killteam.
Just to add to that; GW actually used to make Minotaur "upgrade" pads etc. and Brass Etch for vehicles etc. Obviously thats long gone OOP - its been OOP for about 7-10 years now. (i know im not helpful) - BUT! Asterion Moloc and Ivanus Enkomi; are beautiful models.
for some reason a lot of people think this is how spears are held. People got furious over the sanguinius model, but...he's holding his spear correctly in that pose.
If you cut the scabbard near the straps, you can glue the blade of the sword as well as if the sword was just strapped to the belt (that type of strap is called "frog", to hold the sword without an actual scabbard). Loved this easy conversion 😊
Initially I thought the same, but It's actually not. The problem is that the wrist is so turned inwards it could be broken and also those fingers are so long...
Shotgun is right. Reverse gripping a spear is mostly for execution when you know your opponent has no way to dodge. Normally you want to hold it the other way to have more control
@@3Martinix3 Yeah the issue is just the anatomy. There's no way with the way the rest of the arm down to the elbow position that the wrist would be in that position. As you stated it looks broken, and out of place. It's bent beyond range of motion. Otherwise model looks great.
can you pls make a conversion video on how to make skaven poison wind globadiers (Skryre Acolytes) 12 pounds a model is just insane skaven players everywhere would be really grateful
Space Wolf: FOR THE ALL FATHER Ultra Marine: FOR THE EMPEROR Imperial Fist: FOR THE EMPEROR Blood angel: FOR THE EMPEROR Black Templar: FOR THE EMPEROR Minotaur: THIS IS SPARTA every other astartes turns to look at the Minotaur Minotaur (looks down in an ashamed manner):......sorry just watched 300 on holovid.
GIVE *clap* MINOTAURS *clap* THEIR OWN *clap* CODEX *clap* they’re clearly meant to be a hoard army with effects that make them drop out of nowhere, pushing from flanks with overwhelming numbers with a focus on heavy and melee weapons. I’ve been trying to find home brew for them
I’m new to the hobby but to anyone not in the know, buy nail art brushes. They’re good and so much cheaper than the branded options. I use them more than my citadel ones now. Anyone else with tips to share, please let me know. Also, do your friends care that you’re using modded miniatures? I heard that GW crack down on people using off brand bits and kit-bashing in general?
Damn it Pete! I wanted to make a Minos Army for years now, and now with new models just about to drop, I promised to make it happen. And now you showed everybody how to do it and there will be oh so many copy cats. :D DAMN YOUUUU!
I'm sorry, but the hand holding the spear just creeps me out. I've tried doing the same pose and it hurts. If you decide to make another model in this pose, please change the hands position for the spear. That's just my one complaint
I would have liked to seen some scarring on the shield. I think it would have gone a long, long, long way because the shield is so prominent. Other than that though, it is amazing.
The right hand is incorrectly placed from an anatomical perspective, should anyone try to do this kind of conversion, I suggest using a normal grip on the spear instead of this reverse grip, because it looks like this space marine broke his hand twisting it too far
instant like because this dude looks so fucking epic and i am in the phalanx clan which have the old greece helmet of the spartans as its clanlogo, i like the antique and the spartans as well, so i LOVE this fucking awesome marine! god this is so good
Love the conversion but I hate that little piece of rubble his diving off, makes no sense . You should of put him diving out a window or something with more height to sell the diving attack better.
awesome idea but the spear hand should be facing down, the way you glued it is impossible. You can't face your palm up and your elbow pointed up as well at the same time.
Would it not have been possible to cut the spear into two and glue the parts above and below the already existing phobos knife hand? Or is the fist of that hand held too tightly?
The only thing I'd do differently would be to clip the end of the sheath off and then attach the bottom 1/3 of the sword blade or so to that, turning it into a partial sword sheath.
@@PeteTheWargamer If you look at some of the art for Master Lazerus with his helmet on, there is a cool looking servitor next to him that has a relic on it's back secured with what looks like barbed wire. It also has that iconic DA hooded cloak. Couldn't really think of any kits off the top of my head to use as the base. Sorry for the late reply.
It's not just go back in video, thumb is on the inside grip on spear if it was wrong way thumb be gripping outside spear , dose look it though, had to double check myself lol
Daniel is right. Reverse gripping a spear is mostly for execution when you know your opponent has no way to dodge. Normally you want to hold it the other way to have more control .
hey Pete! if u want a good conversion Challange i suggest converting Birdmen of Catrazza from Pteraxii Sterylizors/Skystalkers and Free Guild pieces. for some impressive outriders/pistoliers
Maybe someone can answer this, can you use models converted like this for any chapter? I would love to start a Space Wolves army but i like the look of spartanlike marines like this one and want to convert Primaris looking like this, but im unsure if i could use them as Space wolves since they look so diffrent
Honestly, you can do whatever you want! Go crazy, don't worry about people complaining things aren't "lore friendly" just do what you think looks cool. It's your money and time that you're spending after all 🙂
Most of the time, I find that super glue does the job, especially if you're only looking for display minis. But yeh, pinning it best if you expect a model to get a lot of use.
As fun-looking conversions go, I think this one turned out awesome! For Space Marines that don't just fall into the main Chapters, or look just like the regular Tactical Marines with a different color scheme, Minotaurs are one of my favorites,rm right alongside the Carcharadons. I don't know if there are builds that could use this model as WYSIWYG, but ad a show piece, I don't care, and this looks great! I kind of want to see a Terminator variant, since they could have shields, and powerful-hitting weapons! Very nice work!
The parts are great....but man, I would *have* to just find normal Space Marine hands I could pin the spear through because those ones just look so....wrong. A fantastic conversion and video as always, though, my grievances with the hands aside!
It varies from tournament to tournament. Some are more strict than others. GW run ones typical require mostly GW kits but I think they do allow some third party bits to a degree, or at least they used to.
The placement/rotation of the hand in relation to the angle of the elbow is wrong. I tried to recreate the stance and almost broke my wrist. If the intent was to throw the spear the wrist shouldnt rotate that much and the elbow have a 90degree angle , other than that nice work.
But you're not a Space Marine 😉 But in all seriousness though, yeh it is a bit of anatomical stretch so feel free to use rotate the hand if you do this yourself.
Awesome. Though, personally I would have cut the sheath on the end too and glied the rest of the sword to the other side, basicly leaving the whole sword exposed with only a Ring holding it. It's not like there would be some safety hazard with powerarmor anyeays
I know this is an old video, but if we could get a video on the minotaur's rivals, the Executioners, that would be dope. Also the superior chapter, imo lmao
