@@Argorok87 I came here to say that most if not all of GW games do that.. but now you reminded me of Speed Freeks.. I was waiting for the game to come out gonna go and play it now lol THANKS FOR THE REMINDER !
The fact that you can make your own unique armor set instead of just premade skins is HUGE. So sick of the skin trend. Let me make my own character. Love it.
Seriously! Games back then were heavily invested in complete customization. Sadly now the only few games that have that level of personalization is Ubisoft of all companies.
@@GamerBroMX and all the customisation options in said games are being a pay wall. Once upon a time cosmetics in game used to signify skill/time spent, now they just signify whos got the biggest wallet. Im glad this game still kept the og system of customisation.
Yeah, it's a breath of fresh air that I can make my characters not to wear any pieces of cloth( outside of bulwark ), ceremonial ropes, seals or gold coated parts( character and weapons, it's a shame that you can't recolor iron halo though ), I like my 40k as sci-fi as it can be.
I really like that you can earn everything by playing the mode you want instead of it trying to force you into playing modes you don't want. Seriously cool stuff.
Unrelated game, but the leveling reminds me of Rainbow Six vegas 2. How you could level up playing any game mode, was a great idea, and it'll be great here.
@kostaskladianos2809 you get resources to help upgrade weapons and get cosmetics through co-op mode. im not sure about multi-player, though I'd say yes. It's similar to helldivers 2 in terms of getting resources.
I fucking love you can have a proper Deathwatch pauldron, makes so much sense having a Deathwatch marine mixed in with different chapters and individual loadouts in your "Kill Team" for these missions.
@@MrLexxBomb I've read about it a lot of times now and no one is actually agreeing. everyone says something diff but most say there is legit no "correct" side that is stated in lore, it always kinda depends on the chapter. do you have some other stories maybe? I'm curious and interested
It's a bit weird though, the Minotaurs are in and they were prominent during the Badab civil war like the Lamenters. Similarly im missing my Mantis lads which were prominent in the same time frame as Lamenters :[
@@Foffer1337 I'm close to have 2000 points of painted Lamenters But I think you can easily proxy one in the game, assault marine, bright yellow colour and red blood angels symbol on the shoulder pad should do it, more or less
The best astartes: 5:49 Iron Hands. 6:00 Imperial Fists. 6:12 Space Wolves. 6:28 Salamanders. 6:39 Raven Guard. 6:50 White Scars. 7:28 Black Templars. 7:36 Carharadon Astra. 7:52 Blood Ravens. 8:02 Red Scorpions. 8:15 Minotaurs. 8:25 Exorcists. 9:50 Iron Hounds.
Yes!! I have I hopes that other classes may be added. You would think they would add a healer type(Ik what an Apothecary is. Thats why I said they shoulf add a healer)
not sure if I'm thinking about another chapter with a similar livery, but wasn't a major part of lamenter lore the fact that they were disregarded for a while and went slightly batshit crazy?
It's fine, brother. We got our time to shine already 2-3 years ago and even got a new story lately. There are other small chapters that deserve this place.
My biggest concern with the armor customisation is that a lot of the detailing and trims seem to be very ultramarine inspired. Would be nice to have more neutral ones or ones based on all of the first founding chapters down the line for the multiplayer game modes.
Exactly, luckily for me the Smurfs are my 2nd favorite Chapter so it’s a non-issue in my case. However, playing any other Chapters that have unique customization is going to be odd until they add more customization
@@danielsinferno5733 yes and no, add some wings for DA, blood drops and gold trim for BA or furr on armor for SW is doable.... I smell microtransactions and dlc`s.....
22:35 those little details are great, being able to make your chapter here unique models and each player on the team a little bit different is perfect. I hope they add all the little things we get from box sets here to completely kitbash and have fun
The first space marine game is what introduced me to 40k and Warhammer in general. Didn’t start playing the actual tabletop till about a few years ago. Blood Angels where my first chapter I played when I started 40k so you already know what chapter im rocking when this drops! I’m beyond hyped
Really surprised they went with some serious obscure chapters and didn’t go with more of the popular successors like Crimson Fists, Flesh Tearers, and Mortifactors. Tbh, I’m gutted my Flesh Tearers aren’t in game, but maybe they’ll be available post launch.
@@joeschmoe5608 To be added in future DLC /s (still pissed that they straight up lied to us and said there were no microtransactions, but then dropped DLC packs as if that's any different)
@@sisterkatherine3409 Firstborns who pass the Rubicon can use any helmet they want and chapters like the Raven Guard still use beakies even after crossing. Some firstborns still use screamers, or older helmets if they're relics even after crossing.
I'm actually quite impressed by how many different "chapter presets" there are for the colour scheme options! I figured it would just be the "primary" chapters, the direct heirs to the old legions, but there's a whole assortment of lesser-known successors represented! I'm particularly surprised to see the Doom Eagles making an appearance, I figured they were a pretty niche chapter. Edit: Holy Throne of Terra, they even added the Tome Keepers! That's the custom chapter made by the team behind the White Dwarf magazine!
I hope they add different faces - be a shame if its only 1 face per class....... Especially when chapters have specific lore about their Skin colour- Salamanders look Charcoal black etc
So, First Game customization BUT EVEN BETTER AND CLEANER. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. They didn't half ass it. They actually made a proper sequel from the looks of it. Just general improvement on everything PLUS more things on what made the first game great. Brings a tear to my eye that proper sequels are considered in the modern era
Based on the PVP trailer, there's definitely unique Chaos Marine customizations - the obvious chaos shoulder pauldron, a twin horned helmet like the Thousand Sons have, what looked to be possibly Chaos shredded armor detailing, etc. We can probably assume that unlocking armor sets for one side unlocks the equivalent for the other side. My hope is that this means that we'll eventually see Chaos co-op missions to go along with the additional Space Marine ones they said they plan to add.
what "twin horned helmet like the Thousand Sons have" ? the Thousand Sons don't have horned helmets, they have the pharaoh style ones ... are you thinking of the Black Legion horned helmets ? also, unfortunately, if you look at 12:14 the Thousand Sons do not appear in the Heretic Astartes Customisation menu ...
@@axeldesaintalbin4922 I don't mean horned as in literal horns, but like a pair of vertical ornamentations coming off the top of the helmet, similar to the Thousand Sons phaoroh style, but the one in the trailer is Khorne red and you only see it from the back for a second or two, so you can't see if it has any decoration/ornamentation on the front side. Kinda like a pair of big metal bat ears standing straight up, for lack of a better description. I'm also surprised that they aren't there, especially since I'm pretty sure that they're the Chaos legion that we'll see in the main story. We've already seen Chaos marines exploding into space confetti in some of the trailers. Maybe they're unlocked as the default Chaos side equivalent to the Ultramarines? This is a beta build as well, so stuff may be missing from the preview build.
Agreed, although considering how anal GW is about life accuracy, I doubt it will be an option for the campaign/coop. (Maybe in pvp though? One side plays as CSM in that, right?)
Yeah I feel like they definitely need to have some classic helmets, maybe have an event/season where you can unlock OG helmets because I prefer those over primaris any day
Imagine getting the classic helmets + changing the colour of the lenses by ourself 🙌 but this will never Happen because we are living in a World full of heretics.
@@killerclone2177 there’s a few Corvus helmets on primaris models . I believe a blade guard veteran kit has one, the Raven guard upgrade kit has a few in there and primaris Shrike has a Corvus helmet on his belt . Here’s hoping we get some for variety’s sake as well as some of the older marks
@@Snorfu Hoping they add the option to change lense colors in an update or something and not leave it tied to some helmets having different lense colors.
@@George-047 today is the day that i will started to pray to the god emperor of mandkind 🙏 i hope he is listening 😃 Friendly and nice god emperor, please... 😌🙏
Naturally there is probably a good bit of stuff not shown that will be in the full game but I really really hope that helmets aren't all just Primaris as neat as they can look, I much prefer the older space marine helmet designs in general.
I LOVE That from what I can tell, a lot of the unlocks are pretty much Win X number of times in either PVE OR PVP. This is nice because while I can grind out PVP, if its a bad day and I feel like I'm getting farmed, I can just go play PVE and still unlock everything, instead of having to farm one type over the other for my customization.
One thing I'm curious about in the customization, can we also customize chaos space marines or is it just loyalist marines? The reason I'm asking is because we can play as chaos marines in the eternal war mode but is that it? While I like the Ultamarines I'm a big fan of the World Eaters and i would be cool if I could make my own Khorne Berserker.
I'm fairly certain that you cannot play Chaos in the PvE mode so I'm assuming that the customization for the Chaos Marines is in the PvP compartment of the game. The first game let you customize both your Loyalist and your Chaos Space Marine so it should be the same in the sequel.
20:40 That is 100% going to be how my character looks like in this game. I absolutely love the Dark Angels! I hope we can change the color of the cloth. I’d love to create a space marine that has a bone white color scheme with green robes so they look like one of the Deathwing. And space marine with a black color scheme and red robes so they look like one of the Fallen/Risen.
Hype, let me tell you how much hype I've come to have for this game since I've come to get into Warhammer 40K lore. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word "hype" was engraved on each nanoanstrom of those hundreds of millions of miles it would not equal one one billionth of the hype I feel for this game at this micro instant. For this game. Hype. Hype.
Love the customization but it would be cool if there are some more customization items that are shared between classes. I understand that not everything could be shared cause they have different armor and such but some definitely could. Tactical and assault for example have basically the same armor minus the jet pack so I see no reason why they would not be able to share some of the armor pieces.
I can’t wait for when they start offering older armor patters for customization. Would love to see some Aquila sets and like OG dawn of war sets that are extra chunky
I think this is what the primaris models were missing. That level of detail would have massively helped the transition. Skulls, icons, purity seals etc. The gothic garnish essentially
Little disappointed that there’s no lightning claws or flamer Love to run around as a Space Wolves with lightning claws or a Salamander with a Flamer/Heavy Flamer But otherwise, looks like there’s tons of variety!

@@alexkaiser8478this is a preview build. Its possible more will be added on launch or post launch. But there is indeed footage of at least the campaign having a flamer.
I predict it's gonna be Beta Participant exclusive, since even the guy here didn't know how he got it. Most likely automatically unlocked since it's the Beta.
I hope this game holds up against Concord. I heard it was made for 8 years by a triple-A studio with 200million revenue. It might be close tough.. who knows
I hope it includes the Lamenters, at least give them some time to be happy, I wanted to see the Blood Ravens (well, at least we will have the justification of taking "souvenirs" from other Space Marines) and I hope it has the MK VI Corvus armor, but the class I liked was Bulward, I hope I can do a Lion el'jonson cosplay.
Well of course I, Cato Sicarious, should be in this game. As I, Cato Sicarious, am by far the most influential and skilled of the greatest Chapter in the Imperium of Man. The Chapter in which I, Cato Sicarious, shall most-assuredly one day become Chapter Master of.
Very surprised they did not include more variety for the assault & bulwark weapon styles. They gave you so many rifles for the tactical, vanguard, & sniper. In the original game they had at least a force axe & they already included it in the prologue portion of the campaign cutscenes! So at minimum they should of had that as a weapon choice & then added more in! Lore wise - a force axe & even a mace of absolution would be great additions to the close combat classes. Hopefully they add it in at some point. Considering they have the capabilities to do it.
Tactical got shafted as well when they are versatile in their war gear. Like no power sword or plasma pistol? If I’m playing as a Sgt or higher then I should be able to wield them…
@@solbenjib7580 I never had any interest in WWZ as I am not a zombie game player so I don’t know how they handled that. However, it’s basic stuff, just open the power sword and plasma pistol to Tactical. Not even adding new things to the game.
@@joeschmoe5608 100% like they definitely put in so much work on this game and it looks fantastic but some of the decisions around wargear dont make a ton of sense
@@joey_celentano agreed! I also think capes/cloaks should be optional customization for ALL classes not just the Sniper. At least they have solid ground for expanding and improving this game so as long as it’s successful and they actually listen to the community, I think we’ll be alright
As someone who never really got into 40K, and having learned of this upcoming game's existence only 3 days ago because HD2 is going downhill FAST, I'm 100% getting this game and rocking a RavensGuard Bulwark. It's gonna be glorious !
So many options yet I'm disappointed that helmet lenses can't be modified from red. I hope this is rectified by release, at the very least I hope Chapters with distinct iconography like the Salamanders or Blood Angels get their own DLC.
As someone who likes the Warhammer universe from the fringes, this game looks badass and the customizations look even better. I’m a fan of the more subtle changes in the armor pieces. Probably will pick up this game and make a Bulwark. I also wish the game had proper shotguns and not just the melter one.
The Flesh Tearers seem like a glaring omission. Though I personally love my Lamenters, they're a touch more obscure. They're really setting up a Blood Angels successors DLC huh.

If not, it seems you can at least make custom one with their heraldry as shown at 11:11 I was thinking the exact same thing but about Alpha legion and had a sigh of relief when I saw their herald in that menu. Hopefully there will be some differing helmets too since Night lords, just like Alpha has their own unique look.
