Mixing Cadians and Catachan seams the best way tbh, maybe some scoin heads, plus the extra bits from both command squads. Gotta sculpt the cloaks out of Greenstuff but its pretty easy to do. And the mixing of bits allows you to represent the 3 regiments pretty well.

@@howyaitsme5393 Not anymore. GW dropped them ages ago. They might show up on the site every now and then as last chance, but don't count on it. Can probably still get them on ebay though. But honestly their proportions are a bit off compared to other models these days, and probably pretty overpriced now. Still, it would be pretty easy to convert them using the metal models as reference. Catachan and cadian command squad models would probably work pretty well for this, and give you a bit more flexibility in how you model them. If not them brother vinni's (webstore) do a "Commissar" and "Chaingunner" models that look the spit of Gaunt and Bragg respectively.

Objectively, it is an off-brand copy of one their products. It is a good product but going to an event organized by a manufacturer with copy of their products is always questionable, no matter who the manufacturer is.
@@iand3lond GW could gain much needed fan support and good will by having a better attitude about things, instead they're letigious and petty, which is good for no one, least of all themselves. They're famous for shooting themselves in the foot, so much so that it's a wonder they have legs at all.
@@Smilomaniac it's not that easy. If you don't sue against copyright infringement, you lose said copyright. Of course for us as fans it makes the whole ordeal just more difficult and I have seen a lot of people whom never even set a foot into a gw store because there whole army is very large parts 3rd party.
I just wanted to say thank you for this. I pulled the trigger on this and now have started a small Vostroyans Guard/Scion army based on this and love it. Thanks for all you do.

Check out Pete's vid, he's already done one on the Chem Dogs based on the example they give in the guard codex. Plenty of 3rd party sellers offer great bits for them otherwise. Anvil Industries do some Nam' style US heads to.
Not to mention making the sprues so the same products can serve multiple purposes. Whether it's with these models that can be made historical or SF. Or their Giant Spiders box, which has options for making them _cyborg_ giant spiders, with ray guns. Parts can also be swapped across box sets. They're such a great company.

I'm a distant observer of the hobby these days and I'm still pretty shocked that all these years later they still haven't released a full range of plastic Imperial Guard regiment kits. I mean at this point you kinda have to wonder why they even bothered giving the Cadians the treatment!
Just as a heads up, the "Les Grognards Command and Heavy Support" box set you meantioned has finally gone on pre order and is going to begin shipping in January, so basically they've finally come out more or less. You should get a box to do some fun conversions with!

Good to know I'm not the only one who thought of this. The radium carbine with Sicarian stubcarbine magazines looks like a scifi M2 carbine, which is what I went with since I wanted them to have autoguns.
For me this is the perfect kit to fuse Napoleons Old, Middle and Young Guard with 40k bits. I hope they release some sort of cavalry and artillery/heavy weapons kits in the near future! "The Grumblers" will have to do for now.

I would like to do some more AoS conversions but I think because the setting is still (relatively) new there isn't quite the wealth of background available like there is for 40k. Cites of Sigmar however...

Ever try kitbashing a ww1 British themed PDF or guard regiment primarily armed with autoguns, shotguns, and stubbers? GW cadian heavy weapons kits can be used as well with 3rd party ww1 style gun carriages to fit the theme of an infantry regiment based around heavy weapons teams.
Ive never had any interest in vostroyans. But these look amazing. I'm gonna try some of those Scion kitbashes. Have a few spare hotshot las cannons at hand
Very nice conversions. These guys look way better than the free sample sprune I got. The details look far sharper. Perhaps I was too quick to dismiss them, wonder if I got a duff sprune 🤔
I found that the kind of plastic Wargames Atlantic use is more glossy than GW kits so when you look at the bare plastic it can cause cause the details to soften out a bit. Just hit them them with a bit of spray primer and see how they look then!
How about you make your own guard, like you did the Space Marine. Maybe what Terra's guardmen would look like? Or maybe something like the spireguard? Something you made up on your own would be great
Just remember kids even if you build ut with more gw bits than there is the head body and leg GW warhammer stores wont let you play them in store. Even tho your buying multiple different GW boxes to make it work.
Les Grognards ... pronouced "Groniar", means the "ones who growls", or "grunts". Napoléon named his old guard like this, because they were a strange mix of fidelity, trust and complains.
Oh boy... Now I don't know how many boxes should I get to start tinkering with my IG army. I think it should be safe to get three grognards and three rumjesgers boxes. 🤷🏻♂️

The new GW guard plastics, IF they come out. Will be Truescale 30mm cut apart CAD sculpts with no way to customize them. GW modern us afraid of aftermarket.
