I am a beginner.....I know how to make scrunchies, doggy bandanas, and facemasks. I want to learn how to do something with kitchen towels and a friend gave me this link to your video. Your instructions seem easy enough to follow, so I might just give this a try......or a variation (I'm a crafter so I'm always seeing other possibilities). Thank you for this video 😊
@@LifePrepared Thank you 💗 My husband bought me a wonderful amazing sewing machine a few years ago and I have barely used it. He died earlier this year and I still want to make him proud by learning how to sew things, even if they are simple. My husband would have LOVED this "kitchen boa".....he always had the kitchen towel over his shoulder. I am wanting to make Christmas presents for a couple of our kids and thought the towel things might be right up my alley, however when at Dollar Tree I only bought one towel and a little roll of fabric and don't even know how much fabric it is. So depending on how fabric is there, I might try to create a variartion of this. Hopefully it works out 😊
You may have purchased a "fat quarter" which measures 18" x 21". If you cut it in half to measure 9"x21", you can sew the short ends together to make the piece you need. Sorry about your husband ❤️. I lost mine in 2009. We would have had our 40th anniversary this year.
Thank you for encouraging and understanding that everyone "I" can't sew but we "I" really want too learn. I subscribe and will be going to watching this video a few times and a I try this project. These would be a great thing to have as I really can and do alot of cooking and always looking for my towels.
I have been seeing for 50 plus years and I have never heard of a kitchen boa. Great project! Love simple seeing projects! Good video. Happy Spring!💐☘️❤️🍀
Good for you for showing even experienced sewers can goof up. Teaching a friend how to sew using her new machine--told her she'd need new fabric-only scissors and, more importantly, her first seam ripper. Told her it was a must because she WILL USE IT. She kinda thought I was kidding.
This video was in my recommendations feed and I love it. My grandma used to be such a awesome seamstress but her arthritis and health has prevented her from being able to sew for several years now. She taught me a few things but sometimes I wish I would've taken a interest to sewing sooner so she could've taught me more. I haven't made anything in a while but before the big C hit I was sewing quite a bit and she would always be so happy to hear about what I was working on and see how it turned out. Gonna have to make one of these and tell her about it 😂💙
I just came across this video. You are such a good teacher! I am a beginner and as your comments were like answers to the questions and observations I was making in my head!! So kind and encouraging! I will make these with the fabrics I have on hand. So glad I found you and now you have a new subscriber. ; )
Such a simple, practical idea. Wonderful encouraging instructions too. Another project for me in Winter. I'm sure many of my friends would appreciate one of these as well. I have never seen the towels as a boa before. Kitchen Diva indeed!
I truly enjoyed your patient teaching style and encouragement. I'm working on one now to go with an apron I just finished as a gift. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to more of your videos. Thank you!
You may not be able to tell but the pressing mat is really thick and reversible with a cutting mat under it. NO heat can get through to the bottom mat. It is a June Taylor reversible cutting and ironing mat.
