Kitchen Floor Makeover: Painting Lino/Vinyl/Linoleum Flooring 

Hi Ola, full disclosure: please note that I choose too much of a light colour, it got dirty very quickly. Also use an electronic hand sander, then finally do not use the spray primer for this, use a primer in a paint tin. ZINSSER BULLS EYE 1-2-3 PRIMER-SEALER (leave it to dry and apply an additional coat) I give all these tips because in my bathroom I did the this and it's much better. I've now replaces the kitchen floor as it for dirty and it chipped in the place I put a door wedge. Hope that helps.

If you haven't already please read my update pinned to this video, because there are a few tips on there; Including choosing a dark colour (your mums fav colour burgundy should work well). Lastly I treated this as temporary solution while I saved for the flooring I wanted (1 year). So I have no idea if it would last longer than a year. I have done the same in my bathroom but it's been about 10 months. Feel free to let me know how it goes. All the best Shaz

Thank you, it worked for me as a temporary solution, especially as I didn’t have the budget for new flooring, but required a lot of cleaning. I’ve now replaced the flooring with laminate flooring. Are you going to try it? If you are I left some key tips in a pinned comment.

Agreed, not sure why this is used in homes and if I can do it, you can too! :) Although I have replaced the floor now, painting was a good temporary solution, while I saved up for the new flooring. I have a pinned comment in under the video on how to avoid my mistakes. Good luck with your project.

@ it worked as a temporary solution for over a year but don’t think it works long term, definitely not in a light colour. As I did my bathroom and it needs mopping all the time.

So, a few months later I agree a darker colour would've been much better as stains are starting to show. In my bathroom, it has worked well probably because I don't spill things in there and use it less than the kitchen. Thanks for the comment Ade. Hope you are well.

Yes you can. But please read the notes pinned to the top on the video. I would also choose a much darker colour and only use this method as a temporary solution.
