Do you grind your own coffee or buy it already ground at the store? I’m having difficulties brewing mine 😩 I think it may be due to the type of coffee and how coarse the grinds I’m using are
Update on my comment about purchasing the KitchenAide 28 oz cold brew coffee & tea maker. I really was planning on buying this product. But it seemed a bit pricey just to get cb coffee. I love iced coffee 😁 🍵 ... mmm delious. After looking at some YT videos and reading about "DIY cold brew coffee" I decided to make my cb coffee on the cheap for about a 10th of the cost of this unit. I ordered a reusable "food grade" nylon micro mesh bag that is used for straining honey (approx. $5.00). Food grade twine ($3.00) to tie the mesh bag. I have a few half gallon sized canning jars, so I'd could be making almost a gallon of cb coffee for approx $4.00 or less a week. In a couple of days I'll see if making my own cb coffee is a sucess. Maybe post a video about it later.
Who cares? You are so beyond cheap it is ridiculous! Why go through all of that trouble? This item is made out of borosillicate glass and steel with premium materials. This unit works great and hands down puts your "cheap" and time consuming method to utter shame. And no, it is not pricey if you consider all of the extra work you are having to do to what you think is saving some money. Add up all of those weeks at about $4.00 as you indicate.... is it really cheaper? I don't think so! I recently purchased this item for $54.00 total online... do your research and you can probably find a great deal!
@@hoosierdaddyyo I like being cheap! 😁😁😁 I can buy more high end quality type coffee to make cb coffee. I can make any amount, pt. - qt. - 1/2 gal. My way of of making this uses less space in the refridgerator, my container can fit in the door. It's has ease of portability. I don't need a big chunky thing to deal with. I have carpal tunnel in both hands & mobility issues ....and I did take in consideration what works best for me, I only need to clean my 1/2 gal container & a mesh screen. It's good to know you are happy with this product. I hope you get years of use out of it. ☺👍 Calm down & enjoy a cb coffee. 🥃🍺☕ Have a great day.
the OXO or the toddy are better. They both offer better filtration with an optional paper filter. This device, I've seen a renowned coffee barista champion test it in a video, and she described the coffee as gritty because of how much sediments the filter lets through. It tends to produce a very muddy cup, so if you're looking for clean tasting coffee, this device won't do. I thought i'd post that here since the video is old, just be aware that there are less expensive and more effective options out there.
@@markspark3360 Hi Mark, are you referring your measurements for this Kitchen Aid Maker? I like the idea of a no-concentrated one too so I'm not using so much coffee grinds!
@@pamdeterman4146 actually you said you don't make cold brew in the fridge because that's not what Starbucks does... Very idiotic logic you have there "dumbass"
Who is this nasally-screechy woman,... I finally had enough of listening to that shut it off and just Google the information and read it,...Nails on a blackboard !!!
Dumping hot coffee over ice is not cold brew, thats iced coffee. The flavor difference between the two is quite big. So while a 24hr brewtime sounds long keep in mind that its just sitting in the fridge and as long as you are consistent there is no difference between that and prepping a coffee pot everyday. You could actually argue coldbrew is much more convenient because its ready the second you wake up and don’t have to sit there miserably while you wait for your hot coffee that you will then have to pour over ice until its cold.
@@jakeram4439 hello! I’m thinking about buying a cold brew maker. Thinking between kitchenaid and cuisinart. Which do you think is better in regards to taste? Is there a big difference with the convenience since cuisinart is an automatic one? Thank you!
@@josephineemarch this one is really great but it isn’t the most convenient for daily use. I dont have the other cold brew maker you’re talking about but i’ve never read anything on coldbrew making that says machines are better than just letting coffee brew in cold water for 12-24 hours. So if you want a coldbrew maker that makes about 6 cups worth of conecntrate then this is a good choice. Its also more compact than my french press which makes it easier to store in my fridge.
@@jakeram4439 thank you! I’ll take note of that. One other thing, I read some reviews online about the kitchenaid, it said there’s some problem with the leaking, did you have any problems as such?
@@josephineemarch i havent but ive only had it for a little while now so take that with a grain of salt. My bet is that those people reporting leakage are probably not using filtered water. Using unfiltered water for things with spouts on them will lead to mineral build up and will corrode the stainless steel causing it to start leaking. Thats also true for hot coffee makers as well. So my advice is dont use tap water and give it a nice rinse after every brew and you should be good.
Bullcrap...once its done, its 3 cups of concentrate and half a cup of half and half or water etc! 28oz ain't nothing in 2 days that will be gone! Get yourself something bigger! Yes this machine does make cold brew but the amount of finished brew is small. A gallon of brew is perfect in the fridge!
