Hi Harlan. Been a while. Last time I dropped a line I was in the hospital and wasn't expected to live. They kept me 6 days in ICU and 4 more days on the ward. I don't remember too much of that. They sent me home with Hospice as terminal. Well joke's on them I guess. I guess I'm just too mean and ugly to die yet. At any rate I'm as good as I'm gonna get and we'll have to see what the future holds. Hopefully I'll live long enough to get out of debt. At any rate, we're considering coming back up your way about Christmas and I'd still like to meet you in person. So, what's that time of year do for your schedule. Give me a holler n let me know. As always, God bless and keep you safe.
Wow Michael sounds like you have had a rough time of it. Just let me know a little closer to Christmas. We are not going anywhere that I know of right now. Be glad for you to stop by if you can. Harlan
Hi Harlan, when flying past these sand bars slowly to check them out, do you use any flaps at all? Or even just a slow ride anyways for viewing pleasure, or is the plane slow enough without having to use the flaps? Loving the music btw...
Hello Jeremy. When checking one to land on I do a slow pass with flaps at about 55 which is stable and you can look things over to pick out a spot to land on later. Just flying the river I'm between 85 and 90.
@@jeremykemp3782 Yes I just added 2 notch between the three it comes with. The first one added is good for flying slow around of an evening to keep the nose down. The other one I use a lot to land in stead of full flaps.
harlen..when you are out there following the river and going around bends, do you rely on ads b for other traffic? i mean, after all, another plane could be coming around the corner and I havent heard you announce you location on the ctaf.
I fly them looking for power lines a couple times before I fly the river I'm at but I have never seen another plane and if they were there I doubt they have adsb. VFR only! Haha
